Yeah, the one with the three buttons were supposed to be clicked in specific order, once each. But the thing is, I wanted to make the 3 hour mark so I failed to add this kind of toggle state so that you can see when the puzzle was reset (if the sequence was in the incorrect order). Unfortunatelly, I assume most will solve this by accident. If I had just 15 more minutes 🤷‍♂️

But thanks for playing and persisting until the end.

yeah, that's how I found about the TAB. 😉

I am... but I still haven't had a chance to start 😢

Wow. I really enjoyed playing this.

The only issue I'm having is that I don't see myself improving. 😢

But that's not the issue with the game, I just don't know how to properly strategize, at least not in this few matches I've had. The best score for me was 5 tokens.

But I really like the simplicity of the visuals.

Really nice job.

Can't write more comments, gotta go play more BOXit!

Hey, I love typing games, but it took me quite a while to realize I could TAB to another word. I started pressing characters randomly...

The best thing is the cam shake on error, that's so gooooooood... really smooth.

Well done!

The sounds are cool. Well done for actually recording the voices.

I've encountered an issue with the sound - when you click R quickly after the resolution, the two sounds clips will play at the same time. Try to stop previous sound when playing a new one.

Other than that, I haven't found any connections between the woman and the spider... 🤔

The pineapple one was more apparent.

Any case, nice little game.

This is a very nice game. It is mind boggling at times, but brains are good at adapting neural pathways, so after some time it becomes a bit more normal.

Nice take on the theme.

I wouldn't agree. I mean, it could qualify as the other theme, or as the matter of fact, the combination of both. Admittedly, not too deep, but still, I wouldn't say the theme is not apparent.

Well, that is the last piece of the puzzle, you just need to put all of the solutions into above counter in order of appearance. :D

This was confusing for me at first because I didn't know I could shoot and make cubes...

Interesting take on the theme, and it'd be great if you can expand on it further.

The prototype has a potential, just needs proper context of execution.

In any case, well done!

Wow, this is really awesome. I like those metagames where you program your programming game :D

Really nice work!

The only thing that was really confusing for me was this idea od only one thing changed at the time. When I got to those vertical bars in pairs, it wasn't really obvious why my changes were being discarded  when I would edit the other one.

But other than that, really cool idea.

Have you made it to the end?

I've seen someome playing and struggling too much with it, so I'm not sure if it's too difficult without additional cues/hints... To me, as a creator, all puzzles are obvious, but it's hard for me to know how it is to others.

Regardless, it was nice to read it. I was expecting a bit darker end, I have to admit. And I was glad it was just you know, growing up 😊

Yeah. I submitted after the deadline. Got too busy over the weekend.

Thanks for the kind words.

And no worries about the video. Maybe next time ;)

Hey, thanks for playing.

Yes, I was thinking about the swap as well as the holding to move the pieces, so it's not the most polished version. But you know, time constraints :)

My max score is 35k, but I'm a piano player and I can type fast :) hahaha.

Thanks for posting your score, this gives me a good gauge on how difficult it is to people. It was hard for me to decide on the speed up as the seasons go by.

I am a big fan of small variants on core mechanics in games. I have like a bazillion of ideas like this. I haven't played Tetris effect either.

But I agree about the summer, too much of them are changing. Also, the worst possible thing happened in my design, which I didn't know how to go around. The fact that the Fall comes after the Summer. So, after the summer leaves you with a total mess, the fall comes with a speedup, and then the Winter comes without the ability to slide pieces in. So, yeah, the seasons are thematic, but then again, not kind towards the player.

But of course, there could be other interpretations of the particular season, or I could activate only 5th season (so that at most one season per year has an effect applied).

Thanks for playing. Yeah, 1186 is kind of low, but I am sure part of it is the lack of holding a button to quickly move. I've found out that my wrist tires too quickly without that feature. But yeah, it's not a commercial version of tetris (a term I'm avoiding for copyright issues).

Hey, thanks for playing. I agree about participation and completion. That's why even though late I endured and actually finished something. Of course, it can be polished and improved ad infinitum, but this is as much as I considered complete.

Ok, I found this game too hard. The 1/2/4 switch from summer to winter is too hard for me with current movement control mechanics.

I did manage to pass it once and then died on the spikes on the next screen.

I've tried at least 20 times.

With a few checkpoints, this difficulty issue could be eased a bit.

Otherwise, very nice idea and mechanics.

Keep up the good work.

I didn't really click in rythm when I got perfect scores and I did when I didn't, so it's a bit confusing when exactly you should press (I assumed when the acorn matches the white dot)...

But the music is relaxing and the game is chill none the less.

Good job.

I liked the `spice monkey`.

This was my attempt at a pun. 🤦‍♂️

Any case, I really liked the game. It took me a while to realize that the dishes are moving towards the left end. And also, I don't know if I like or hate the fact that I can't see which seasoning is selected unless I spew it out. :) But considering that there's no downside to just spray constantly, it's fine :)

Cool game, all in all. Also, nice that you managed to squeeze in the music.

(1 edit)

I enjoy games like this.

But I found it a bit hard to understand all the visual cues, particularly the exclamation marks to the right of the flower.

But it is a fun game. Maybe a bit too fast for me cause I've had to reread what each season's key is.
Maybe if you added those cues in the game, it'd be easier.

Keep up the good work.

Well done. I really liked the mechanics.

Although, only in the last step I realized I could jump, lol.

I also got stuck in a falling/respawn loop somewhere around the last few steps when I fell into an abyss...

I don't know how it restarted, but I've tried changing a season to something else, and then all of a sudden I appear on the red block. Maybe a system of checkpoints would help with that.

But other than those few things, this is a game I'd be happy to play an expanded version with more puzzles.

I've been double-clicking for like 5 seconds before I realized, that's probably just a placeholder for missing content.

And there I thought I could edit the part of the story. :)

Good thing you included that `back` arrow. I was sad to see `Game fails`.

👍

This would be much nicer if there was something happening on the ground as you fly towards the next destination, like some terrain passing below you. But I guess that all requires time. :)

Yeah, not showing your bird on the minimap made the aiming a bit hard.

I also noticed a few bugs. I managed to land outside of the island. And also, after visiting an island, my health didn't drop for like 8 seconds after I left the island. I mean, it did drop, but like to 98, and then it would jump to 100 again...

I really liked the pixelated bird, though 😊

Strictly speaking, it's not a game, but the story is really nice. Emotional and down to earth.

Well done.

While the graphics are not yours, it was arranged in an appealing way.

That being said, experimenting with what will appear in each season was a bit difficult endeavor, but still satisfying. What I'd maybe do is check whether the snowman would be stuck in walls before the switch and then simply prevent it. There were times where I got stuck in the wall during winter to recover my HP, and the screen was shaking uncontrollably because of the collisions. So, preventing the switch if there's no space would help with that.

But other than that I really liked the game.

The visuals are awesome, but I found this too hard for me. I really don't understand what should I do when the shark comes. If I go closer to the fish, they disperse, but the shark manages to get most of them anyway... 😟

I think my highest was around 50ish... just when I get to a `+ bonus`, the shark destroys half of them... 🤷‍♂️

Also not sure how it relates to the theme... 🤔
Is it a wordplay (I'm not a native english speaker, so I may be missing something here)?

All in all, a nice entry.

Ok, as a developer, you should know better than to destroy your players' wrists 😛

Really, clickers are the most unergonomical (borderline destructive) games there are.

Ok, after this rant, let me give a few notes 😆

I liked the fact that you had to pick leaves at the right time. So, it's a bit of a gamble: will I click a bit more and risk losing everything, or will I take what I have and click early. That along with the fact that the time was going rather fast makes for a nice combo.

No clickers for me, but for a 3hour game, it's a good job.

Hm... I'm not sure what kind of fashion this is, but I'm gonna wear it anyway 😃

I really didn't get what the game is all about. I've first tried to match the clothes/accessories that would match the season (such as scarf during winters or bikini for summer), but the score felt really random. 🤷‍♂️

A bit longer description would be helfpul for sure.

Wow, I've enjoyed this very much.

This is a proof that you don't need AAA graphics to get immersed into the gameplay.

That being said, there's only one thing that needs refinement and that's user controls. Two things in particular. The horizontal acceleration feels too high, almost completely unpredictable. And the other thing is getting stuck to the wall, when a corresponding arrow (towards the wall) is pressed. Almost as if the gravity no longer applies.

But other than a few tweaks for user controls, this game is really fun.

Oh, man, you're destroying me. 😊

Since the google era, I am bad at remembering things.

Nice idea for the theme.

And well done for the graphics. I wouldn't know how to draw all those foods.

Well done.

Not much to do, you probably just scoped too broad, just as I did, sadly. Dunno.

Otherwise, I like the idea of an asymmetric characters, each with their own unique powers.

If you expand on it in the future, feel free to ping for another review 😊

I'm not sure if there's a bug or I was just completely unlucky with the RNG, but it seems that NONE of the samples are from the winter. Maybe the sample did play some winter samples, but I've been clicking winter 30 times in a row and the score never increased. It did increase for spring and autumn (these two I am more familiar with musically).

But other than this scoring which felt a bit sketchy, the idea is awesome. I wish there was something like that for modern music. Like a pop quiz by playing like 2 seconds of the song.

In any case, really nice idea for the theme.

Oooops, I might be here a long time. 😊

Interesting game and I really like the flat graphics.

I'd mention only two things I had issues with:

  • It's not obvious how the number of each of the things you can purchase will influence the end result, so I ended up with 6 actors and 10 musicians, but I don't feel the game provided any hints of what would happen if I had only one actor and one musician. I did make a big profit after 6 or 7 episodes, but still, it felt a bit random.
  • Since I selected to run thru 2138 episodes, the text showing me the results of each of the episodes was too slow.

Other than that two, very nice entry 😊

Resist the urge to go full screen. :)
