Description
4 Hybrid Orchestral & Electronic songs to tell a story of a journey through a luminescent lucid dream!

Delve Within The Soul (Title Screen & Main Theme) : The introduction to your journey & giving a sense of wonder to what you might encounter...

Crossing The Depths of Sorrow (Overworld #1) : You slowly realize that a lot of sadness encompasses you... your worries & sorrow have culminated into a sea! This tune will play as you figure out your way through the depths of sorrow.

Soaring In Ambition (Overworld #2): You've discovered the key to leaving this sorrow filled dream is high in the sky. Therefore you do what any dreamer would do. Fly high and soar through the sky!

FEARMONGER (Escape Theme): You're ALMOST there but before you reach the event horizon, the FEARMONGER, a being who chases after you, not permitting you to leave. Why can't you control it? What is it? A monster? A sub-conscious culmination of your fears? Escape from this lucid nightmare at all costs or face it & end it all!

All music made myself in FL Studio & art was done myself with Aseprite

Vocals in (Delve Within The Soul) were done using SynthV (Ayame)

The last track (FEARMONGER) is a total banger - for some reason it reminds me a bit of castlevania. Would definitely slay a demon to this music. Also the cover art is very gorgeous here - great work!

Developer

Thanks so much! Never thought of Castlevania but I can kind of see what you mean xD

Take my 5 stars.

Thanks so much <3

This might be my favorite. It is evocative, it kept me listening, I wanted to hear more when it was over, which is also a first for this jam. It definitely has "beloved soundtrack energy."

Knocked it out of the park. There are a lot of famous video games with soundtracks I like a lot less than this.

Developer

Wow that really means alot to me, thank you so much! I'll keep striving to create the best I can :D, comments like these are what motivate me to keep going.

The small lupo make me like this submission, or it will bite me

I love it (both in fear, and such nice music)

PS - This is the 2nd time I got duped by SynthV (End of a World by BBBrezel)

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks so much for listening!

I know right, SynthV is such a versatile tool. It can convince anyone

Submitted

Developer(+1)

Thank you again <3 happy I left an impression xD

Lovely covert art, AMAZING SOUNDTRACK!

The ability you have to mix different types of instruments is incredible. Everything sounds SO cohesive an on point!!

Your work has left me very surprised, I am speechless 😆

I love it all!!!!!!!!!

Developer

High praise, thanks so much for listening, I really appreciate it <3

Excellent job on this soundtrack! Well varied and put together across each track! I felt like every song told a unique part of the same story. I especially loved Overworld #2!

Developer

Thanks so much! Now every song in the OST is someone's favorite out of all 4 :D

Dang, I don't have much to add on other comments here but this is a beautiful collection of songs.

Developer(+1)

Thank youu <3

Take my kudos, because I have a weakness for music that sparkles. Loving the nostalgia in a lot of the synths you used. You did a fantastic job mixing them with strings and piano. Overall, banger of an OST.

One critique, though: the high end was a bit much. Maybe knock it down a bit and boost some of your mids and lows.

Correlation to theme was on point too. All very dreamy and otherworldly. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much! Dreamy & otherworldly was the goal xD, so glad I achieved that.
In regards to the critique, you're absolutely right, a few days after the jam started, I realized how grating the high end was haha, definitely need to work on my mixing there.

Somehow got here the wrong way around, since SoundCloud dropped one of your songs into my playlist. Having even heard some random few seconds I immediately knew I had to listen to all of it. So Here I am. This is simply remarkable. You’ve somehow managed to get a very LoFi sound, that evokes some resemblance to some old SEGA sounds, while mostly using very high-fidelity instruments like your Strings, vocals and Piano. Your songs have a very peaceful quality that oozes charm and variety (well Fearmonger is more of a banger than a peaceful song, but still). Very well done!

Developer

Haha thanks so much :D Glad the soundcloud algorithm brought you to my dungeon!

Awesome work! I was very reminded of JPop/JRock style music that's used in Anime/JRPGs, which I think is super technically complex. The fusion of the rock and metal elements with the electronic ones was also great, and I thought that you did a good job of filling the sonic spectrum with different instruments without making things feel overcrowded.

Your cover art was also super cool! I'd give you bonus points for that if it was on the rubric :)

I specifically thought the transition cue at 1:55 of Soaring in Ambition (I think it's a reversed piano arpeggio?) sounded super cool! I may have to try to replicate that in a future composition!

Overall, I could tell a lot of thought, energy, and care went into making this submission, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to listen to it!

Developer

Thanks so much :D, you kind of hit the nail in the coffin with JRock for JRPG's, that's generally always been the style I strive for,  so I'm definitely glad you noticed that. Also super happy you liked the cover art :D, that was made literally 3 hours before the jam ended haha, was a rush.
As for 1:55 of Soaring In Ambition, yeah it's a arpeggio / broken chord reversed. I recorded it in Edison, reversed it & then put on a reverb FX to make it sound more atmospheric. Definitely try it yourself, can make for some very interesting stuff!

The diversity!! You got it all, from gentle vibes in Delve Within the Soul to an absolute BANGER in FEARMONGER!! Wow!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your work, this was great.

Developer

Haha that was definitely my aim. Have the first 3 songs kind of sound connected & then BAM, mega whiplash xD. Thanks so much for listening <3

This is one of the most perfect OSTs I’ve heard in the jam thus far, fantastic job!!

Developer

Whoa that's high praise, personally this is far from perfect but I'm really happy to see someone think so xD, thanks so much <3

Beautiful instrumentation! Love the chimey synth that fills up the high-end in the first track - it’s really lovely and ethereal! I love where you take things in the second track and beyond, leaning into the rock influences with the drums but still retaining the beautiful orchestration. The two styles compliment each other so well! Fearmonger is such an awesome finale, I’m getting Anamanaguchi vibes - it’s so cool! Beautifully consistent and exciting soundtrack - well done!!

Developer

Thanks so much, I was always worried maybe this drum style + orchestra wouldn't work out as much as I'd like but I can see I've proven myself wrong :D

Submitted

Soaring In Ambition was fantastic! The big changeup near the end was really really grand and felt amazing!

Developer

Thanks so much! Glad you managed to get through the whole song xD, definitely didn't intend to make it 3 minutes but it was worth it in the end :D

Submitted

Great vocals in the first track! Overall, I really liked the variety between the tracks and the constant quality!

Developer

Thanks so much :D

wowss great composition and instrument selection everything blends together so well for sure saving this up and waiting for more!! :))

Developer

Submitted

o wow!! the choice of instrumentation here really fits the sleepy dreamy vibe. gorgeous sparkly tracks!!!

Developer

Thanks so much :D, the sleepy/dreamy vibe was exactly what I was going for, glad it hit the mark for u <3

Woaw ! Beautiful writing and orchestration for first track ! Beautiful harmonies, a great surprise for me! The motiv aswell ! Its professionnal writing skills here! Jrpg Anime vibe really enjoyable!

Great mix of styles for second track !

Thirs track was filled with wonderful modulations ^^

Last track got me some anime ending vibe!

Overall well written OST, the only default would be the mix i find a bit weak and the lack of dynamic(volume change)!

Good job ;)

Developer

Thanks so much <3, I'm happy you enjoyed it & yeah I agree with you about the mix, didn't have much time to focus there but hopefully in the future I can release a much clearer version :D
