Description
Made with LMMS and MuseScore. I'm also the creator of the cover art!
A set of three tracks all connected to the main villain---a powerful psychic with a grandiose plan to restructure the world. I would imagine these tracks would play at the midway point in the game, where you've built up to your first encounter with the main villain, but you're not strong enough/don't know enough about their plan to be able to stop them yet. It would definitely be a JRPG!
"The Spelltower" - eponymous dungeon's theme, a tall office-like building with mechanical puzzles centered around simulating the movement of celestial bodies. Orchestral/neoclassical
"One Man's Madness" - boss fought at the end of the dungeon. Fusion with pop/electronic elements and jazz instrumentation (but not improvisational enough to be called jazz, I don't think)
"Requiem for Angels" - main villain's theme. It seems like it wouldn't fit a villain but he's really pretty, especially when he cries, so I think it does. Neoclassical
Message from the artist
I hurt my back for this
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I thought I might take the "power of imagination" kinda cutesy wutesy theme and use it on a villain instead. It's for an antagonist with a rich inner world that seems to consume things around him, and his obliviousness makes him dangerous

"The Spelltower" Incredible how the tension is handled, maintaining the listener's attention throughout the entire track.
"One Man's Madness" AMAZING
"Requiem for Angels" Back to the vibe of the first track, but a little less ambient. Here the melodies sing much more.
(I'd really like to know what strings library you used, they sound very beautiful!)
AMAZING SOUNDTRACK!!!
ONE MAN'S MADNESS IS HEAT THOUGH HOLDUP.
Was not expecting "On Man's Madness" AT ALL xD
The OST is great, you made a nice cover art too. Super good job!
Time for an unforgettable magical adventure...
The Spelltower - Echoes, trumpets, violins, vibrations and bells... Beautiful!
One Man's Madness - Okay. It was interesting, experimental, dynamic and... GLITTER, SYNTHESIZERS AND JAZZ AAAAAAAH!!!1! (Seriously, I love that gurgling synthesizer in my ears, heh). Oh, right... there's also some soothing pauses before the action dynamics continue. Cool!
Requiem For Angels - Sad, majestic, graceful, and... airy?
Overall, your soundtrack sounds... like a good soundtrack! I liked it, thanks!
LMMS GAAAANG! Interesting interpretation of the theme, and solid work on all tracks. I loved it, One Man Madness was my favorite!
LMMS LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO
I love it and I thank your back for this :]
Mystery Classical, Delicious Jazz Piano, Kazoo & Sax, Emotional Passionate Song for The Pretty Boy
Very solid entry!
my favorite was One Man's Madness because I am a sucker for fast paced fun songs!
These are excellent songs! I do think that One Man's Madness sounds like it'd be from a different game but I like that the same melody carries over into Requiem for Angels. Very cool submission :)
A lot of people seem to have a lot of different opinions about One Man's Madness. I kinda like that, gives me something to think about! Thank you so much for listening and for your comment!
Such beautiful composition and lovely ideas throughout! I really enjoyed One Man Madness because it added much needed differentiation to the OST as a whole. Great Work!
Love the chords! Those parallel flat-5 (I think) chords in "Spelltower" are great fun, really spooky and nervous-sounding. The spread of styles works for me actually - I remember Sonic Shuffle had a lot of *very* weird, disparate music going on, bits of orchestral, bits of breakbeat, bits of ambient, it was very strange but that works for me! Really great work, congrats!
Three different pieces of music - I admit to really having a hard time piecing them together for the narrative you wrote. Despite that - I feel like it's got energy and depth to it and would work in a quirky/anime aesthetic.
Hope your back gets better. :(
the Hunch was real lol. Thanks so much for the feedback!
The Speltower: Those chords on the vibraphone make it feel very hypnotic, I felt very immersed in the music when listening to it. Very good work.
One Man's Madness: Has a very nice melody, estructure and chord progressions too. Great boss theme.
Requiem For Angels: Really beautiful music and great use of the leitmotiv, I think it would fit very well the villian you described. Very nice orchestration job as well!
I like the piano with the beats on the second track, I also liked how it has different sections (though the jingle star thing effect was a bit too loud), the other two tracks were also nice.
Appreciate the feedback! Mixing/mastering is definitely something I need to work on haha
I really love this soundtrack! Your composition skills are amazing, my favourite is Requiem for Angels - it has such rich harmonies throughout and the string section sounds so good!
Thank you so much for listening!
