Best I could get is 11.20. Funny speedrun commentary lol

There are sounds under the music, I just did not mix that mf very well.

But i made the music loud intentionally, as finding appropriate shopping cart noises is reallllly hard on the internet lol. Perhaps I need a foley friend to do my sound just like my art friend does my art lol

Yeah all the art was done during the jam. Alyssa is great

My highscore name isnt the same as my itch name, so I wanted it to be abundantly clear that I am him. And he is me. And we are the greatest gnome to ever do it

A very spiritual ending. Quick puzzle that was well balanced for being solved in 20s. Had me thinking it was random at first before I saw the clue

Wonderfully written story, great job!

Wonderful submission, really gives the same energy as ultrakill.

I played this live on stream (for way too long)

I will link a vod in the discord linked on the overview page of the 20s game jam. Timestamps maybe! Great work

Thanks for tuning it! Fun and annoying submission!

THanks for tuning in! Really cool menu. Love how it incorporates the gameplay

Great game, had a LOT of fun

Great work! Enjoyed the look of the game, wish there was a way to shoot up.

Good start to a fun puzzle game. i could see this being interesting if you had to schedule them ahead of time rather than it being a flinch reaction sorta thing. Could be chaotic imagining the order they have to turn and watching it all go terribly.

Love the palette chosen! The protagonist was really cute. And everything really worked well together. Great work!

Played this on a stream, will link VOD and timestamp in the discord present in the 20 second jam overview

Its so odd that we had such a similar idea for this jam lol. Well done on this submission!

Thats a shame. What system and browsers?

I can't really fathom why that would be.

The instructions given through whispers is reallly cool! The menu needs a bit of highlighting or something to indicate where each button is, but its a cool looking menu. The 3d like pixelated aesthetic you guys achieved is super sick. All around great entry! Nice work

So after a few attempts I did manage to kill the enemy.

I will say for a demo of sorts, the enemies movement patterns were very exciting to dodge, and the sound design was actually pretty well done for the enemy. His laugh as he spawns and charges at me insanely was slightly offputting

The way it looks is nice, 2d sprites in a 3d world look cool. The combat could be way more polished. And I think with more work this type of combat and art style could be something very cool if further developed!

Nice work!

I got two bad endings, and a very uh neutral ending!
Didn't stream this one because it was late, but figure I'll give some detailed thoughts here.

For things I liked:
The twist ending was very interesting. I wonder if the endings I missed allowed me to side with the uh,
"fake" villain. Something to explore if it wasn't done.
Enjoyed the narrative being built. And the multiple endings had me saving and exploring to find different approaches.

For things I don't like/ had issues with:
I spent minutes confused at how to hide from dad the first time. Locking the door behind me was something I discovered by accident.

And I didn't like the forked paths that instakill you. In those same sections, the dad would also spawn nearly on top of you! So thankfully autosaves were nice. But also still.

The graveyard maze is so tightly timed that getting to the end of it is either just luck or rehearsal. I think it should be tense but not impossible to solve first go if you're a tad lucky. But instead it was just trial and error forced losses at one missed turn.

Great submission though! Would love to see a more polished version of this one day, as the story is very promising. Just the gameplay could use some work

I did miss the narrative, and i felt really insane going through that looping session! Solid entry, top 5 forsho!

Great entry! Loved everything about it! For my more immediate detailed thoughts, check the VOD ill post in the themed horror jam discord here in 10-15 minutes!

Fun game! Only found one of the two ducks, but its very cool to have an easter egg in your game to find! Didn't get the third ending, despite banishing every demon. But maybe a pacifist way was the way. Not sure! Good submission though, very fun!

Great start to a interesting narrative! Excited for chapter 3!

For one positive, one negative:

The puzzle was cool, and figuring it out felt immensely satisfying. It isn't too straight forward, but also is easy to connect. Very balanced and interest.

For a negative, it's probably an artifact of being a jam. But I loved the environment art, but the non-animated translating characters, despite being in style with the rest of the game, did look a bit silly. With the chapter 3 expansion, i presume thatll have more detail though.

Great submission Nice job!

Great voice acting, story was very well written. Although I have to say, I knew the ending almost right away lol!

For a longer opinion, check the VOD ill post! In the Themed Horror Jam Discord.

A great looking and polished submission given the short timeframe you worked on it. Ending was abrupt and left me wanting more! Heres hoping you continue it at a later date.

Parold Peebler should get a namechange lmao! Good entry!

ooooh I see! Glad you got something out of my review! Looking forward to a full release

Thanks for the detailed review! Read all of it. None of the minigames you played had any 3d assets! Just good perspective lol. The fishing rod is 2d, and the line is drawn in 2d as well. Its just shaded!

As for the code. Yeah, lots of complaints there. The chronological order of the notes was obvious for us as creators. Less obvious for players. Something we will think about more for the future for sure!

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, I worked hard at trying to hint at things where I could. We also made the hunting section shooting-gallery styled to avoid upsetting people with realistic animals! Thats why they were on sticks!

We have heard ordering the notes was tough. We should have made a lil minigame after collecting all 7 to build the code tbh. Live and learn! Thanks for playing

Amazing looking entry, well balanced audios. Im excited to know more if/when a full version is released. The writing had me hooked

Have a VOD of me experiencing this first time I'll upload to the Themed Horror Game Jam discord if you are interested in watching someone play your game. Great work!

Wish the door locking played a larger part! Same for unlocking the prisoners. Overall, very cool. And the lighting and 3d sound was really great for a 2d game! Nice work!

Played on a stream I'll like this VOD of with a timestamp for you to see if youd like. Itll be linked int he themed horror jam discord!

Really great entry! Thanks for joining stream. Love the resident evil styling!

Thanks for coming to stream! A great start to a horror maze games!

Nothing negative to say. Great entry!

It seems to be a common point of note that ordering the 4 numbers was hard! I kinda figured it may be, but the order was just intended to be the canonical order of those notes. Which might be tough to construe. Perhaps just faded page numbers would have helped a lot as well lol.

Plenty to consider! And yeah,  lots was done towards the last week or so of the jam lol! We actually wanted to do a chase sequence at some point but yknow. Jams and scope

Hey, its the discord linked under the Themed Horror Game Jam #19 - Halloween Edition Overview.

Channel is jam-talk!

I saw a few I wont spoil. But if there was one relating to the bathrooms I never saw it because I checked every round paranoid as hell lol

A well made short story game with branching paths. Think I accidentally stumbled into the bad ending lol. It gave a real 90s point and click vibe for some reason (despite the fact that there was walking). Great submission

No bug, was confused by something a below comment explained. Rest of comment still true

Great game, looks amazing. Story is well written, and is a great metaphor for some real life issues many people face!
I sadly encountered a bug of some kind, you can see it on the live stream I recorded. Will post the VOD with timestamp in the Themed Horror Game Jam discord if you want to see what it was and see a live reaction to this amazing submission

Astonishingly polished jam game. Great narrative, story, and the sokoban puzzles were nice!
I streamed myself playing this, if you'd like to watch a live reaction, at some point I'll upload the VOD with timestamps in the Themed Horror Game Jam Discord (one of the james you submitted for)
