Great to hear. Ideally all submissions would be reviewed, but I could understand at this scale/available moderators that may not be feasible. Hopefully this greatly discourages future cheaters

Is there gonna be any attempt at better moderation this year? Last year was a disaster. Looking at the #1 winner for GameOff 2023, it has 9 ratings and 4 of the accounts in the comments were made the day of submissions with 0 past history and clearly generic projects just to get an entry. They should detect bad entries/account and remove them and their reviews from the final results. I've seen other jams have a week period where they hide the results so they can sift through and remove the garbage before publishing the real results
The visuals are great I like it's style. Audio is not bad either but could use some more effects for certain events (maybe upgrading a tower, fish dieing, wave round starting, etc). The UI is pretty good except some thing felt a little buggy on KB/M like upgrading the towers, I think the functionality probably was more intuitive on gamepad. One suggestion is that at the start of the stage maybe show a visual path of where the enemies come from or go, or like a minimap/high level overview.
One issue I encountered was frame drops/stutters and performance issues at certain stages throughout the game, I wonder if there's some un-optimized code causing issues?
Nice work
I like the mix of 2D and 3D the visuals are great. It's pretty solid but I think it could use the introduction of a new mechanic to add more interesting gameplay. Adding a sound effect to jumping might be good along with some more monster noises for the things that chase you. I found it sometimes hard tell if an object was in my path or not, something visual to help with the perception of depth would be good I think. Also for some reason on the snow level it felt like my camera was lagging behind my character making it harder to anticipate things coming toward me, but idk if that was intentional or not
For immersion I would suggest improving the audio and adding more lively characters/environment models in the background, like two people standing having a chat, a moving windmill, etc
Nice work
Nice game, I like the theme and idea of it. The visuals especially the characters are good and the writing is funny. Some suggestions for improvement:
Tutorial helper doesn't sync with the screen you're on which can be confusing at the start there's a lot of stuff text thrown at you. Having it highlight the section it's talking about would also improve clarity.
The music is nice but gets redundant after a while, having more song in rotation would be good. Also more audio effects in general, clicking buttons, researching things, voice overs for the character dialogue/tutorial (or like animal crossing esque talking noises), would help it feel less void
I learned the hard way that taking a fat loan and hiring a bunch of people is not the play lol
Nice work, this could be a fun casual management game
Thanks for the heads up, I believe it is just slow and not stuck, because the build is 130mb and the unity loading bar doesn't communicate it's still working on downloading assets. I need to optimize the game further and make more assets load in asynchronously to get that size down but just haven't had the time
Well this was interesting stuff you made here. Pretty hard to give suggestions when it's already flawless in every possible way, incredible voice overs, beautiful animations, impeccable 3D graphics. Could use a key binding menu and instructions for KB/M. Maybe grey out the menu buttons that aren't implemented yet so they aren't confusing
Very nice peaceful and relaxing game with good vibes/art. I would suggest for improvement adding some kind of noises/voice over for the robot, maybe like animal crossing talking or something. The beep noise gets tiring after a bit. Some more UI feedback, such as outlines on where things can be placed would be good at the start for players learning on the first level. Nice job

Look at the #1 winner for GameOff 2023, it has 9 ratings and 4 of the accounts in the comments were made the day of submissions with 0 past history. There's 0 moderation in this jam the admins clearly don't care about fairness or competition and are unwilling to do any due diligence to run this jam. It's really shameful to the people that spent many hours of hard work and it's a bad look for all game jams. GitHub should be ashamed they used their big name to attract so many people to a game jam they weren't prepared to properly execute. Look at GameDev.js, they have clear rules, review the final results before publishing it, implement a proper score curve for games with low review counts, and search for bad entries and obviously fake accounts. GitHub should stop using their name to pedal their software in an area they don't understand and seem to think anyone can run a jam with no effort needed
Lovely art, the little bee butler and his outfit is cute. Took me a minute to understand that the lamps charge you, I would suggest adding a gauge that shows you have much charge you have left and letting the lamps recharge it even if you're currently lit, as opposed to forcing you to completely run out before beginning the timer again. Nice job!
Really solid game all around, my only complaint is that I would occasionally get stuck on a wall when moving horizontally to it. Which can be big problem when you're trying to hug the walls but don't want it to stop you from moving and make u take a hit. Love the roguelite style, big levels, and progression system
Ah crap you are right, it's down-scaled to 80%, I thought it was using my PC URP preset, but it was using the mobile one. The mobile preset also had other issues like an extra post processing volume, no anti-aliasing, etc. Dang wish I could re-submit with it in it's full graphical fidelity glory RIP
