Great use of minimal graphics and flair. The power of that is you really leave it up to the imagination of the player to fill in the visuals.

Only suggestion I can add is I didn't know I had to use my mouse to click on the choices. The game mislead me to think I could only use A-D-E keys only. But that was me not realizing the buttons were clickable. It didn't deter from the experience at all.

Simple, straightforward, and enjoyable. Thank you for submitting this to the Scream Secrets Game Jam 2024.

Thank you kindly for pointing me in the right direction. I downloaded the game and forgot to read the manual. That is my fault.

Here's what the directions on the Itch page say to anyone who might have missed it:
W/A/S/D - Movement
Space - Next Dialogue
E - Interact
F - Pickup
R - Open Task Menu / Read on Inspecting a note
Esc - Pause/ Close Menus

Are F and E reversed?

Interesting little backrooms game. I'm not a fan of backroom-style games, but this is well-put together. Very simple, very straightforward. I think a fair warning to give is regarding the volume, but with a little polish, this game will be a good one. Also, good ending!

Keep up the good work. Thank you for submitting this to the Scream Secrets Jam 2024.

I can pick up and put down the syringe, but nothing else past that point. I don't know what key to press to take the serum. Started the game multiple times to see if it was just a bug, but no luck playing it.

The game looks neat from the screen shots, so I feel like I'm missing out on the experience.

If this is your first horror game, it is outstanding! The atmosphere, the story, the mystery... all of it comes together in a neat package. I really didn't know what to expect, so this gets top marks for Story. It got me invested an kept me there through the whole experience.

My only suggestion is maybe cut back on the monologuing in the middle. It feels just right at the beginning, establishing a motive for doing what we want to do. In the middle, I certainly had my suspicions about the characters, so it was hard to put myself into the frame-of-mind that the player was experiencing. At the end, it was a perfect amount of decisions, leading to solid choices a variety of players would make.

Other than that, it's a fantastic game worthy of anyone's time to play!

After a couple of closed windows [Ctrl + W], I finally was able to explore a bit. I really like the monster design in this game.

I was genuinely surprised by this game. I didn't think I liked text-based horror like this, but this game has me reeling. I have a soft spot for the early '80s style of this game, so it had me fully immersed. The ending tho... definitely not for someone who can't stomach it.

How you made this is magic to me. Excellent, superb work.

Platforming combined with detective work? Definitely something I would have not imagine. It's worth a play for creativity, and dodging the ghost as an added challenge is a cool mechanic. Very good for work done in a week!

The art in this game is amazing. It does a great job showcasing that talent. Also, point-and-click adventure games are somewhat new to me, so at first the movement felt a little janky, but I got used to it.

A couple bugs:
- Going full-screen only displayed black around the game window (Firefox)
- Inventory did not appear at times when hovering over the top of the screen.

Overall, a very good game experience. I had fun.

I think you have something you can really build on. Don't be discouraged by the rating for this game; it's just missing some elements of a good game. I hope you will continue to improve and join us in the next game jam.

This game is amazing with story and creativity. Honestly: a well-earned rating.

What a charming little game that struck me a little uneasy. I enjoyed it a lot for the art and the conversations. Writing is definitely a strong point for the developer.

My first two attempts at the game, I didn't know the controls, and managed to go out of bounds in the first room and fall out the map. Probably want to check collisions there.

Otherwise, I'm a softie for cute animal games, so I feel a bit biased in my rating. But I did genuinely like the gameplay and I hope development continues with this game.

HINT: For anyone who might not know: To interact and talk, press [E].

Top ranks for aesthetic and creativity. This was thrilling to play, and the art is outstanding.

This was enjoyable to play. I chuckled at the one ending, so I'm going to follow and see where this game goes.

Only criticism I had was the text may be too hard to read. On the other hand, I think there's a charm in the way the text cuts off at the end of the textbox. It really suits the artstyle.

Otherwise, it was a good spooky experience: interesting story, good selection of music, and pretty decent for a first submission.
