super cute game, very relaxing and overall highly impressive for 2 people.

Overall a really good quality submission. I loved the music, though I found that it doesn't seem to loop, which eventually leaves to the mundane drone of daily life which I suppose is it's own kind of atmosphere. Perhaps you can have a 2nd or 3rd track which slowly fade in and change as you hit certain population capstones.

This is great stuff for a two man team. Little rough around the edges, but what submission isn't, right?

There were a few hitches there but I see potential.  It could work a fully fleshed game with some more polish!!

Played live on this stream!!

Super impressive entry for a game jam! Honestly, though it’s a bit rough around the edges, it’s cute, fun, and performant.

Some random constructive feedback I collected while playing:

  • Mines and chicken sounds are very loud
  • It’s not obvious that mines can only collect small rocks instead of large ones
  • Resource counter to see how much stone / tree is remaining on the map before it runs out could be nice
  • The game likely needs a simpler starting build order to not lose early, e.g. berry bushes to collect from unconditionally at the start?
  • Houses producing gold seems a bit weird - besides is gold really needed as a resource ?
  • Tooltips sometimes bugging out (appearing / disappearing many times on hover)
  • It’s possible to zoom through the ground
  • In the beginning, it wasn’t obvious to me that there was a moveable camera at all (and holding down middle mouse button imo doesn’t feel good for it)

Love it, great work on this!

Appreciate the detailed feedback, thanks!

Really nice game! Though I feel like some way to remove the wells when they run dry would have been nice ^^; But yeah, I had fun with this one! Good job :3

Nice game! Lovely assets used. Very cosy to see the villages in action :) Would want a lot more to do, though. Currently the sim seems to be devoid of an overall goal. Perhaps daily goals such as produce 50 gold or build 3 houses or mine 10 stones or something. I understand that it's tough to do that in game jam game, you've already put in so much functionality into this. That's a great achievement! A solid game!

The game is a relaxing city-building experience, though it can be challenging, particularly if you make a critical mistake like running out of essential resources, which may require a restart. Despite this, the game is well-received and appreciated for its design.

City building was one of my first ideas for this jam but we went for a different direcction. Glad to see other people going for it!

What can I say, town building sims are my jam! And this is quite the visually pleasing one too boot!

I think the main thing is how easy it is to get softlocked. In one of my playthroughs the mine seemed to need more people to work there, so i can get more coal however I ran out of coal to build a house to get another person, so was just sorta stuck (atleast that's how I understand it). In games like banished you can directly dictate where the villagers are working and what one, so if you ran out of people to work the mines you can just take a bunch of builder to go do that, perhaps a system like that is worth looking into?

Nonetheless this was great fun, good job!

Nice city building game ! you worked well, and seeing the description page you even brainstormed further :)
Just one little feedback ( probably not a lot of people are using a laptop but in case ) I could not really replace the mouse scoller on my laptop therefore I could not really move around, just zoom in and out and right click to rotate. Maybe adding a left click hold drag way of moving around would be great for laptop users ^^"

But otherwise well done :) keep working on it, city builders are always hot on Steam

Very chill and relaxing! Love the low-poly style. The game has a lot of potential and room to expand. Great job! :D

Nice little town builder! Would've been nice to be able to sell/demolish buildings (as I ended up soft locking myself by placing things where they shouldn't have been) and the sound effects for some of the buildings felt a bit too loud for the style of the game, but otherwise great experience.

One of the most polished games art-wise I've seen so far! All of the art is done very well. I think maybe the mechanics need a bit more depth, and there needs to be something interesting here to set it apart from other games in the city builder genre. All in all, cute and cozy, if not a bit generic.

Very cozy game! The style is very nice and relaxing to look at, though to have more fun it would need to have a bit more depth in gameplay, but we did have a limited time to make our games.

Very cute game! I think that it would definitely help to have some tooltips in the game when you hover over different buildings. I know this a game jam game and this is something I need to work on with them too, but it would definitely be helpful to have alternate controls for the scroll wheel functions. I'm playing on a laptop and it's just very difficult to accomplish some of these controls with a track pad. But very cute! I love the music and the 3D assets, the chill vibes are great. Good job!

Really fun little town builder, although I think I ended up screwing myself by not placing a lumbermill early on. It would be nice if you had a mechanic to help the player escape one of those soft-lock situations. Other than that everything worked great and looks amazing. Nicely done!

Lovely looking game! I had fun building up a little town. Unfortunately I got softlocked after placing the mine in a spot that wasn't close enough to the two main deposit areas (it was somewhere between the two), and so I couldn't get any more stone. I'm also not sure what to do when the well runs out besides building another one -- which was impossible without the aforementioned stone. Moving buildings may have saved me, so a feature like that would be nice to have if you update the game after the jam! Nice work overall!
