Heyo, our team would appreciate it if you could check out our game! We made a platformer where you have to build the level yourself.

This is a neat little experience (barring of course the bug with buying buildings). I think having a more clear end goal as well as player guidance could go a long way in making the player's choices feel more impactful. Sound effect feedback could also be helpful as I did not realize a flood had happened when it first happened in my run. Beyond that, I really like the very compact feeling to the graphics overall and would love to see an expanded version of this game mechanics wise. Good job!

I think this is a very cool take on the theme for sure, but the camera controls and awkward snapping makes me think that perhaps 3D was not the best format for this game. Also I didn't realize that the spacebar key actually sped up the flood because the key icon wasn't too readable. Other than that, I think if you continue polishing this game it could be a very neat puzzle game to spend some time in. Good job!
I like the concept of this game, but unfortunately I think the wait times between certain parts is a bit too long, and the controls and hitbox for the frisbee minigame could use improvement. Really like the graphics and the music, and I think the ambient sound design could probably use a bit more variance. Overall a neat experience!

Lovely game! I would definitely love to see this project get developed more. While I really love the aesthetic choice of this game, I wished that there would've been some way provide a way of guiding players if they get lost. I also found myself unable to orient myself sometimes due to how similar the cat was to the environment around. In any case, this is a pretty but short experience!
I like the premise of the game! I think with a little more player-facing information about sandwich making and better driving controls I think this could be a fun and solid game. I like that the sandwich icons that tell you where there are customers and what they want, but they can get hard to read especially when it gets flipped vertically. Good job!
I think the two main gameplay loops are solid and works well together! With additional mechanics and a perhaps more fast-paced Phase 2 this could be a neat game to sink a few hours into. I really like all the art assets as a lot of care has been put into the aesthetics of the world as well as the menus.
That being said, I find the choice of The Entertainer metal cover as the Phase 2music to be very intriguing as its source material doesn't sound like something that goes hand-in-hand with the gameplay experience, and the genre feels too heavy for the colorful aesthetic. I did like some of the sound design, but in particular I feel the sound effect for shooting could also use a bit more oomph to make that experience feel a lot better.
Otherwise this is a very cool game! Congrats on finishing it!

Hi, first of all big thanks for this thread and the videos too!
I'm one part of Fallacy Studio, which is a group of game development students from University of California, Santa Cruz (both ongoing and alumni)! For this jam, our group made a metroidvania platformer set in an unknown new planet that has appeared within the star system. Players must dive into the depths of this planet to discover the secrets of the planet.

Our group is definitely planning on releasing a small update to address some common feedback we've received from playthroughs of the game, but have no further plans for this game beyond that. Nevertheless we are still very proud of what we've made as it has showed a lot of growth since our last game! Hope you'll enjoy playing it!

I think that while I could understand the narrator's thoughts, I think that it could definitely use with some more depth as it would help me understand Sean as a person better. I understand that they are close to Jacqueline, but I would like to see some sort of conflict in Sean's perception of Jacqueline seeing as she appears to coerce Sean into doing something that they perhaps are not comfortable with (if the player does go down that path). I think that having this conflict arise earlier in the story can help solidify Sean as a character, as they eventually give in to the use of substances and forget about that initial conflict. This is just one possible example, but there are definitely plenty of ways to expand upon the writing of the story.
Pretty neat game! I would definitely suggest having an automatic reload mechanism for the player's weapon as I felt like having to manually reload the weapon when empty disrupted the flow of the game. Other than that, I think with some balancing to the enemies this would be a fun game! Definitely wish the theme was more present in the game.

Pretty good game! I think some sort of narrative design to imply that this is a dream would make it connect better with the theme of the jam. I think having enemies play voice lines can help players be more prepared for enemies so that they don't get surprised and lose way more health than need be. Other than that, controls feel robust. Good job!
This is a good mini visual novel! I do like the overall arc of the storyline but I do wish that the narrator's thoughts were presented more clearly. I think the artstyle matches pretty nicely with the story, though I think that skipping dialogues can have weird side effects with the background and sprites not being loaded at times. I would suggest reducing the number of beep sounds played to once every few letters when the text is being written into the box as it felt very very loud. I think with some polish and revisions to the story this has the potential to be great. Good job!
