I didn't, actually :O That's amazing!

Will do! Definitely excited to see what ideas you think of :D

A beautiful experience. Absolutely loved it. The story really hit hard, I felt the void in myself while playing through the game. Such a dark twist on the topic, but you pulled it off amazingly.

Story was beautiful. Graphics were gorgeous, and the music fitted the experience so well. It's amazing how simply walking and interacting with the same objects has such a large impact depending on the dialog and direction the story took.

Absolutely amazing, I'm at a loss for words. Incredible that you managed to make this entire polished experience in such a short space of time!

The only way I can think to explain this game: this game feels like game design done right :)

The mechanics feel like the definition of "easy to learn, hard to master". Mechanically it's very simple, but the introduction of the taunt mechanic adds a lot of nuance to the game that I absolutely love. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but the fact that you can't move while taunting actually feels really good - you get this game of chicken where the enemy is almost on top of you, and you're just holding space like your life depends on it - sure, you can stop taunting and walk away, but you also really want to see if the void will catch the enemy before they reach you.

All the enemies I encounter so far felt unique - there was something different about how each of them interacted with the player and how they forced you to change your playstyle.

Difficulty curve felt great - I never felt bored, but never felt overwhelmed either.

The concept itself was great and original - Many people thought about having the void chasing the player, but don't think I've seen someone use it as the main combat mechanic too! Completely spins the idea on its head, really love it.

Gameplay itself felt smooth. Sprites all looked pretty good, music brought the atmosphere together well, and the slight animation when the enemies get pulled into the void felt satisfying.

"Satisfying". That's the best way to describe this game. When you get a big group of enemies into the void, it felt good, it felt like your planning and cunning paid off. When you died, you knew there was something you could do differently (or in my case: played chicken and lost haha).

I'm seriously impressed, this is probably one of the best games I've played this jam, in all honesty.

Only managed to survive until wave 6, but this is a game I'm definitely coming back to after the game jam!

Love the splash screen with the wildcards and title falling down as the void comes past. Really like the main menu screen (both informative and pretty to look at), and the artstyle in game is gorgeous!

Gameplay itself is quite difficult, but can definitely see what you were going for.

Very creative! Never seen a game like this before. I suck at rhythm games so couldn't get very far, but very impressed by what you made!

Music is, of course, amazing (as expected from a rhythm game), and I love the artstyle you went for. I can imagine how long it must have taken you to get that shader/sfx in the menu working though - it looks great!

Glad you liked it! Quite happy that I still managed to submit a game in time :)

I did the camera zoom myself! The implementation here was pretty simple and crude though - just an area2D that looks for the player entering it and had a specific `@export var` zoom value, that called a function on the player to adjust the zoom to that value using a tween. Definitely want to play with the idea a bit more!

I beat "ded" mode! Highlight of the jam for me haha. I spent way too long on that.

Really liked the concept of it! Quite simple but quite fun. Definitely can see the potential in the idea. Was a little bit frustrating that the blob being spat out can spawn in front of you, thus picking it up immediately (definitely killed me a lot on that final shrink at the end), but that's all really small things to change.

Music is really good! Quite like the sprite and animation for the player too.

Congrats on your first jam submission! Can definitely be proud of yourself for being able to make something in time for the jam :)

Was quite fun! Definitely impressed that  you managed to make a strategy game in such a short amount of time. Love that you could see your town coming together in the background! Well done :D

Definitely a trippy experience! Quite well made, well done!

Thank you! :D

Thank you!

Thank you! I had fun messing around with the camera zooming haha. Definitely agree on the movement side - was planning on implementing better movement mechanics, but ran out of time.

Next time I join the GWJ I want to focus on making a better movement mechanic for once ;P Absolutely no idea how, but it'll be a great challenge!

Love the artstyle. I spent way too long looking around the menus and admiring the art (especially how the icons zoom in, but the background also changes, and how the star fades out when you click the 'mute' star). Overall, the aesthetic was amazing.

Music and sounds were pretty good, suited the game quite well!

Gameplay-wise, I struggled with jumping a bit (momentum felt a bit wonky when jumping, like you lost most of your sidewards speed), but otherwise felt alright. Quite liked the gravity manipulation of the mage!

Game fits the theme really well, love the void coming in, the setting, and the gravity manipulation.

Otherwise really well done! I see this is your first GWJ entry, which makes it even more impressive :D Really well done, you should be proud of yourself!

Really like the game! Love the concept you went with (being inside the computer, voided memory and all that), and the aesthetic and sound really bring it together. Also a big fan of the fact that the enemies do not have a visible health bar, but rather become more distorted as they take damage, until they finally break.

Controls felt fine. Game difficulty is quite high, but it kept making me come back and try again to get further haha.

Really well done!

Edit: spelling mistake

Thank you so much! :D

Pretty clever game, I like it! It looks like a bullet hell, but feels like a puzzle game with the way you need to try decide which enemy to attack so that you'll fly back towards more ammo (just shooting like crazy will often leave you in a corner with no ammo).

Really cool idea!

Very fun! I suck and platformers and usually find them frustrating, but I had such a blast playing this I even tried it again to improve my time (2:32 is best I could do). Controls feel very intuitive and the game is really well made!

Only sad thing is that I didn't participate in this jam so I can't vote for your submission, but it was really good!

Thank you for the feedback! Will try our best to incorporate that into our future games :D

Best way to explain it would be: mixed emotions. It might just be because the game is a game-jam entry so it's lacking that polish, so it felt frustrating to play, but... it might also be the single entry in this game jam with the most untapped potential, and I'd love to see it expanded and improved upon.

Good:
Voice acting in a game jam entry? Amazing.
Artwork is amazing.
Aesthetically,  most polished and professional looking 3D game I've seen in Godot, I'm amazed that this was a game-jam entry and not a project worked on for months.
The camera and gameplay reminded me of the RE games. If a game jam entry can give me the same feeling as old AAA games, that's a really good sign.

Cons:
Controls: Took me a while to get used to the controls, but also some of it didn't make sense (for me W and S both moved forward?)
There was also no mention of the other controls in game, nor on the game jam submission page. Kept trying to run past the mobs and getting stuck and frustrated. Only after reading the other comments did I realise there was a Itch IO page (not just the submission page) for the game (no link from the submission page) with the rest of the controls; I didn't even know there was a gun until my 5th attempt! So definitely having a page in game talking about it would be great.
Combat: Felt too easy to stunlock enemies (once I realised I could fight back).
Map: felt confusing, wasn't sure where I was or where I meant to go. I figured the two dots were the scientists but that was it. Found one before giving up.

Having said all of that... I honestly don't know how you guys managed to make this in a week, this feels like an alpha for a AAA game, or something being worked on for months. You all have some serious skill, and I'm seriously impressed with what you've come up with. All the negatives I mentioned are things that could be easily polished and improved if you had more time, so I don't weight it too heavily for a game jam entry. You should all be so proud of what you've made!

Well made game, sounds were good, mechanics were simple but well made. Only issue I had is that to search the graves I had to keep running into the grave, not just be nearby. This made it hard to do the corner graves where I kept running diagonally past it, instead of 'into' it to search it.

But for a game jam submission, I'm quite impressed!  Solo developer and first GWJ submission? Keep up the great work, quite interested to see what you work on next!

Quite an interesting idea. Do agree with a lot of the other comments that it feels like it's a game where you need to learn the route as you go and 'speedrun' the game - nothing wrong with that, just a different style of game, and something the player needs to keep in mind.

I did run into an odd ... bug? Double-jumping against a wall makes you get 'stuck' to the wall, stopping the double jump. So to double jump up that starting area, for example, you need to stand away from the wall; if you double-jump against the wall/while running into the wall you'll never get up. Took a bit to figure that out xD

Love the concept of the game (imperfect information), quite enjoyed it! Well made game

Moonwalking will never stop being funny :D

Quite fun, well made!

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, some background sounds would have gone a long way. We'll definitely keep it in mind for next time :D

Really fun game! I quite like the idea of taking PVZ into a 3D environment, gave it quite a unique spin!

This is probably one of my favourite games I've played this jam :D

Really like the art design, and the character designs were amazing. Sound and music was nice, and gameplay loop was quite enjoyable!

Design is quite original, and definitely appreciate having the ability to rebind keys (I was fine with the default ones, but always great to see).

Only bug I ran into was a case where I had a pumpkin field, harvested all but one pumpkin, and a mob grabbed the last pumpkin off the field, causing the field to be bugged: couldn't place new crops since it "wasn't empty" but couldn't harvest anything since there was nothing to harvest.

Very pleasant experience, great submission!

Really well made! Favourite part was definitely the dialog, made me laugh quite a lot!

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Yeah I agree. It was coded so the last item you walked over would be the first to be picked up, but realistically that's just a bandaid fix (especially when you can only carry so few items) - next time I'd love to add some logic to stop them spawning on top of each other!

Thank you for playing and for the compliments!

33 is still higher than what I got a lot of the time :D

Thank you so much!

Quite fun! I like the fact that the game is as hard as you make it for yourself (the more you plant, the more points you get, but also the more you need to dodge).

The tutorial was clear and made sense, artwork was gorgeous, controls felt good and sound was quite nice. Game felt very polished, especially considering it was a game jam submission. The fact that the time IS your health also feels quite nice to play with.

All in all a very good submission!

Very fun! Game feels quite polished considering it was for a game jam. Quite impressed by what you've managed to make!

Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

Definitely, we had so many different ideas we would have loved to do - especially with making the game feel more fleshed out, have different levels with different layouts and objectives and so on. But unfortunately we ran out of time for this game jam xD

Quite enjoyed it! Found myself getting stuck if I ever went over 2 traps (had to bounce between the two traps to stop the bird destroying them, but 3 tended to be too much). Was playing the web version, so the bug you mentioned makes sense. Managed to survive to the morning of day 10!

Overall I really enjoyed it, loved the sounds and aesthetics , reminded me of the old Flash games I used to play. Considering this was (I believe?) a solo project, that makes it even more impressive.

Excited to see what you work on next!

Interesting idea! Quite enjoyed it. I feel like the game might have benefited from having the cones a bit more clearly defined? Kept getting caught by a cone I could barely see because there was such a short space in time from it appearing on the screen and me getting hit. And in the fourth level (I think) where the way forward to walk between two cones of light, except I found this by trail and error since it looked like the cones overlapped xD Didn't know it was a safe spot.

Definitely a good submission though!

Thanks for checking! Yeah unfortunately neither of us had a Mac to test on, so while we could build the executable in Godot, we had no idea how to properly do all the settings required for Mac.

Hopefully the browser version still works on Mac?

I really enjoyed this! Sadly couldn't finish it (got 6 out of the 7 and couldn't figure out that 7th combination: got all the 2-combination ones though). I definitely have a weakness for farming games, and 'find all the combination' style games haha.

I did run into an odd bug though where the text describing the plants harvested was blank (so the box would show up, but no text inside). Might be partly why I was missing what to feed the pumpkin haha, but really enjoyed it nonetheless.

VERY impressive considering you did this as a solo developer! Very excited to see what you work on next.

Thank you! Yeah I'm very impressed with Liasathel's art too!

Definitely looking forward to making more games in the future :D

Thank you!

I'll check yours out now!

Awesome, looking good! Feels really good to play. Can't wait to see what you build out of this!
