Well thank you! If you tell me that its not belivable that i made it in the jam timeframe you are giving me an incredible compliment!. I did make the game during the jam, and i thought about the theme before starting. But i get that maybe its hard to relate to it. I think i can provide proof on how much i took to make it. If you want to reach out on discord i will be happy to show you!
That said thank you really much for playing and leaving your feedback!
Listen, if i copy a game, same mechanics, same feel. But create new levels, that is still a copy! Of course you didnt copy patricks parabox levels, but the core gameplay loop, is the same as your inspiration. Every game is directly or indirectly inspired by another game, look Magic and Pokemon, they both follow a similar idea, but in the gameplay they are completly different. I for my game got inspired by balatro, with the feel of the game, but if you play it you are going to see that it has nothing to do with my game, Because its his own thing.
Im sure that you didnt want this to be the case, but unfortunatly it is. I hope that for your next games, you can better understand the difference, between inspiring and copying
This said if this game has been done in the jams period, it's very impressive 👍, though for me it is not rateable
I checked your art, and the result is AI generation. On the internet is full of AI photos practically identical to your art, i found it with google lens. Plus i checked with multiple online software the legitimacy of the images, and what do i find? AI. If you think im lying this test can be done by anyone, so give it a try 😁
bruh, ever played balatro? i don't think so. is there poker? Combinations of Cards??? something like a joker?? is there a similar mechanic? no it's like saying that pokemon is a copy of poker! now, just so you know. i'm not going to say that your game is good and beautifull if it isn't. i will be honest. and if you can't take it, then that's a pity
you will never grow as a developer if you don't take criticism. i took a lot, and will proudly continue to do so. consider every comment, critique, and even insults as valuable and extremely precious therefore writing a comment after a rating is the most respectfull thing a developer can do, to help their fellow jammers, learn from their mistake.
I expect you to do the same to my game, and to many others, this is true respect
i didn't understand clearly my objective, and how the game works. the graphics is fine, and overall an interesting idea. but i have one big critique about this game THE THEME!!! the whole point of a game jam is to follow a theme, and the reason why is very important. it's to avoid people making a game before the jam! if you are saying that you don't want to follow this theme because of "creative discoveries" you are not only denying the point of the jam, but you are activley breaking not a loop but the rules.
I'm sorry, but for me this cannot be rated :(
the theme fitting is written in the game page and written in the tutorial. to put it simply each enemy follows a pattern of actions, that loops. almost every card in the game has an ability the which modifies by removing or changing actions said loop! effectivly breaking their loop!
Thanks for playing and rating my game.
P.s i got really scared when i saw your first wrong review hahahah!
Nice and cute game. Very original idea, with simple graphics that just work accompanied by fitting chill music, even though the game is simple it is still a layed back experience, and a pleasent one for certain. at first the direction where the packages where launched seemed a bit counter intuitive and hard to understand. plus the game doesn't add anything as of features. it's the same concept, you just launch the package in a different country.
The reviews that pop up are very charming and give out an even better atmosphere. my big critique is that the theme is not followed. it's very forced and has some sense just because you explained the particle accellerator stuff. but it doesn't bring anything unique regarding the gameplay or the experience in general.
Overall very unique game and certainly really well executed. Good job! 👍👍
Nice game, i like the graphics although i think that other than a little more polish, a more indepth gameplay could have been better. having limited actions is the core gameplay but it feels frustrating having to repeat an entire level just because of a misclick. the cotrols are too complicated. every action is a different button! the levels are a bit forgetable and not very interesting.
On the other side the game is very good to look at, and the theme fits in an orginial and unique way. extra points for me! that said i think that foucusing a bit more on player experience and unique gameplay elements instead of level amount could have been more beneficial for this jam.
Keep it up! :D
Good game, i find the graphics very fitting, and i love how unique this game is. though i have 2 critiques. a little introduction could have been better. even a tutorial text wall would have worked for me. because even after playing it for a while, i still didn't find my objective clear. the second thing the connection with the theme is ok, though in my opinion is a bit lazy. the game goes on in a loop and then when you finish it you break it. i dont know. this concept could apply to every game. take super mario for example. i can say that mario is stuck in a loop and when he saves peach the loop breakes and he is saved. you see what i'm saying?
Anyway i find this a great entry and a unique one for certain. i can see this concept expanded and polished some more. looking forward to it!
The game aesthetic is pleasent, tough i don't think the theme is fitting at all, plus i don't think this is a game at all. i was litterally spamming LMB all the time, and my life wasn't decreasing. the enemies are bland and all the same and as i said before the theme is not followed, at all. i think that insead of focusing so much on the art you should have instead thought of a game more original, unique and fitting for this jam.
good game, my only critique is that it is not original. this is basically exit 8. if you added more originality to the gameplay it would have been perfect (i mean, even the times you need to find the anomalies is 8 like exit 8!) the art style is nice though a bit more polish to the environment could really help this game
Allora ti scrivo in italiano :)
Nice little game, i really enjoyed myself with this little puzzle game, if i must critique, i'd say that the gameplay becomes a bit repetitive after level 5, yes, the addition of candy gives the game more strategic depth, though i personally don't think that's enough. other then that, the only other critique that i can make is that the candy sprite doesn't fit with the rest of the game. but again, i'm just finding the needle in the haystack... good job keep it going!
