You can really see that you have put a lot of energy and time into this game. I liked the artstyle and the general vibe, it was cosy. However, the game was not really for me.
I got frustrated early on due to the lateral jumping. I did not really understand the mechanic and instead jumped on the sign to get further. When I needed to jump on to the scaled box later on I didn't really understand how to progress and I fell down in the water. Paused the game to restart and found the bonfire option but that didn't work, nothing happened. Managed to swim under and get up on the other side.
I reread the sign and managed to progress so not that big of a deal. And I guess I could have drowned myself to restart the game maybe if I couldn't get up?
I noticed that you gave information about what key to use for different controller. Nice! An improvement could be that you checked what type of controller the user had and changed the text based on that.
In the beginning of the game I basically only heard background music, there was no sound for jumping/swimimng/picking up crystals. I thought it was a bit odd because of the volume sliders suggesting that you had sfx and those type of sounds seemed like the most obvious to add. Messed around with the sliders a bit and noticed that there is probably something wrong with those. When all the sliders had the volume to 100% it worked as expected so I put them on 100 and then turned the volume down on my computer instead (I thought it was a bit too loud for me).
This is how the sliders looked like when I only heard the music. Maybe it was because I had the music higher than master?
Overall a nice game! Looked good and seemed like there was a lot of content! I just did not feel it today so I did not play that much. I might come back to it another day :)

I love the art design and style of this game, which reminds me of WOW. And the mechanic is also awesome. Very well designed game and love to play.
Great jobs!
The soundtrack, and artstyle was amazing, while the gameplay was innovative!! Can't wait for this game to be fully released!
Wow! This is awesome! Really enjoyed the low poly look and re-scaling the box I was standing on was super fun! The menu and save systems were also very well done. Makes we want to get a controller now
Had a few camera clips especially in the tutorial valley. Once the skeletons were small, I had a hard time judging their position to jump on them and a few of my bombs didn't go off for some reason.
All in all, really well done!
Nice game! First played this with a keyboard and mouse so I found the controls a bit tricky and some moves hard to execute. However changing to a game controller really helped improved it a lot. Also impressed with much you were able to put into the game in just a month. The 3D models are great and the aesthetic has a very charming and nostalgic feeling to it. Great job guys!
That was really enjoyable! Managed to get all the power scales. There was a lot of content here! I enjoyed the Mario-like control scheme and the scaling power. Using a scaling box as an elevator is really satisfying. I was a little confused by the crouch mechanic at first, it doesn't really translate to the animation of the character at all. I enjoyed walking around the village and talking to the other lizard wizards haha. Fun game overall, nice work!
Really cool entry! We ended up with fairly similar games although you leaned harder into the platformer than we did with it. I think the overall world design was very cool, definitely got the same n64/old school vibes that others mentioned as well. Just like everyone else said as well, I did struggle with the gameplay a bit as several of the moves were very difficult to pull off. Also, I swear one of the signs said you could scale an object you were standing on but it never seemed to work for me no matter where/how I looked.
I'm impressed at how much you got into the game in such a short time as well. That said, I had trouble keeping track of everything and at times it felt like the game was trying to do too many things from the dark souls-esque bonfires to the tight platforming and the puzzle-esque scaling. Maybe it would be better in a larger game where the mechanics could be spread out a bit farther to give you time to learn everything at your own pace. But overall a really solid entry and a fun game to go through!
Thank you for playing! 😊
To scale object that are below you, you must look down so the scaling ray goes down too! I don't remember how was it explained in the signs now so it's possible that we didn't properly explain it.
We wanted to add a lot of different elements and at the end we had a very large game hehe, we will be working hard to polish everything, stay tuned! 😄
Pretty good game and fits the theme well. I was just expecting a bit more polished experience from such a big team.
For some reason, the lateral jump mechanic really resonated with me and it felt great. On the other hand, I didn’t get the Olympic jump at all. At one point, I got stuck in a sign at the beginning when reading it. I had to restart the game because the game would always spawn me inside the sign. Also, it seems there is no option to start a new game. :(
First of all, thanks for your support!!
I did the part about 3D, and I have no idea how it's programmed, but, the team explained us how to restart the game since the beginning.
You have to go:
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Scale Tale
and there, delete save archives.
I hope i could help you!
This is a cool game, and really hits the theme. But honestly the game is not the best part...its everything that is baked into it! The page has a manual that is more complete then most recent AAA games, the game into has a proper cut scene...hell even the "Morphin' Games" logo clip is animated - there is a lot of professional feel to it for a game made in a month!
All that said, it all has one major flaw...the game starts off with inverse Y for the mouse. WHY?! In heavens name why?! Its a sin, a sin!.... Good thing there is a nicely done settings menu to fix that!
Play this game! Its worth your time and download. Serious PS1 vibes.
Cute little game, I can point out few things that can be improve!
- I think the top-down camera is a bit strange, I'd prefer the traditional 3rd person camera to see what's up ahead
- I think that some platforming can be a bit more forgiving for the player
btw I'm impressed by the production, great job :)
Interesting use of the theme, fun little PS1/N64 era 3D platformer. I enjoyed this, nice work!
Very nice 3d platformer! It triggered a big nostalgia in me (Nintendo 64 era)! Very nicely done for a game jam 👍
Impressive scale on the world for a game jam entry! The modeling and world design was definitely reminiscent of older Nintendo games and was overall well composed. Menuing and interaction with elements in the world worked pretty well for the most part. As others have indicated, inputs felt somewhat difficult to execute, but the movement itself was satisfying and not overly floaty. Nice work!
Nice! Got all of the power scales.
The small scale open world was nice to explore. I don't know what John Wick did to the village to be wanted Dead or Alive.
A few things that can improve this game:
- Camera near clip collision ( I could see through walls and objects)
- More vivid color palette
- Shadows or Ambient Occlusion
Crazy, I was crazy once
this is a very impressive sized game. it was also pretty well polished, such as menus and things. good job, i had fun playing!
