Or do you just mean it's very worthy of a top ten place? If so then I absolutely agree!

Hey everyone,
Thanks for posting your games -- I think I got through most of them, but sorry if I didn't get round to yours. I probably won't have time for any more, but thanks to everyone who sent me their games, it was a lot of fun looking at everything! Also a huge thank you to anyone who looked at my game, it's great to see that I've managed to give people a little enjoyment.
All the best!
I can understand this. At the end of day one I had my three storylines pretty much wrapped up, and spent a good while thinking about who/what else I could add. Luckily I decided to just create what I already needed, with the intention of adding anything extra at a later point. I'm very glad I did because if I'd tried to add any more there's no way I'd have finished!
Knowing how to split my time between coding/story/art/voices was the most difficult thing for me. I think I prioritised well enough, but it did mean everything was a little bit too rushed at the end; it would've been nice to have an extra hour to playtest and check it everything was in working order. It's a little unfortunate that the things I'm least happy with in my game are all very quick fixes, but you live and learn!
It's a cool idea and I imagine coding a turn-based system was very difficult in the time limit, so I'm quite impressed. I kept dying to the first creatures I encountered and the combat did feel arbitrary, but I think there's potential in it with some more time and QOL improvements. A nice effort guys!
Absolutely fantastic. Had to watch the video to understand what I was doing wrong (trying to put the "crafted" bags in the science/bomb thing *after* crafting them, rather than putting the ingredients in) but once I understood it was very smooth. Can imagine it would be very fun to play with a group, and probably my favourite so far in terms of polish and theme. Feels very close to a completed game!
Fingers crossed we get to see the Yogs playing it as their own characters soon! :)
It was a little tricky to operate to start with but with some more in-game explanation and more keyboard-and-mouse-friendly controls, it could become something really fun. I'm a sucker for these sorts of games and I loved the art style, so I'd be interested to see where you take it if you add to it after the jam. Nice job!
Thanks to everyone who's played and enjoyed the game so far!
Based on your feedback I've patched in the following (only in my dev build currently, because AFAIK I'm not allowed to change the game file while voting is still happening):
- Added a menu option with sliders to adjust music and voice volume independently from one another
- Turned down default music volume
- Fixed some incorrectly labelled audio files (Pyrion's endings and a double-up with Simon in his starting dialogue.)
Regarding that last point, please do let me know if you've caught any other mistakes as the audio mapping was a bit of a rush job at the end of the project, and I'm sure there must be another slip-up or two somewhere!
I'm also working on adding VA for Ravs, a few sound effects, and adding a couple more endings.
Thanks again,
Happy Festag!
Really loved the concept. I feel it might have been too ambitious for a 48h jam, but I'm impressed by how much you got done in the time. The art and UI were really clean. As others have said, it worked fine once I was using the arrow keys instead of WASD.
One other small thing I'd mention (also about the keymap) is that Esc shutting down the game was a bit frustrating as my brain has that keyed-in as a menu/options screen. There was a couple of times when I instinctively pressed it and had to start from the beginning.
Otherwise a really good job, nice work!
The intro video was fantastic. The game was a little buggy. I like the aesthetic and the concept but there wasn't really any challenge and the 'Yogs' didn't do much. Of course, it would be difficult to manage something more in the small timeframe. Good effort!
Also... 5 seconds before the deadline?! Madness.
As Mark said, not sure it fits but I like your explanation so I'll give (heh) you a pass. You should've just called the game "Giving Way" and you'd have been fine! :P
As for the game itself, I quite liked it. I think the platforms could've been a little 'weaker' to keep the tempo higher, but I liked the mechanic and the simplicity of the controls. The music was great and very suitable, too.
