Celeste if you haven't played it yet

I liked Skipper but I dunno if you are into puzzle games

You didn’t specify a genre, so here’s a small selection:

  • Don’t Get Cursed just came out and looks quite good.
  • Try CrossCode and you’ll have something to do for quite some time.
  • Democratic Socialism Simulator has very simple controls, if you’re tired as well as bored. (It was in the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality so you probably already own this. And if not, it’s relatively cheap.)
  • Ladykiller in a Bind if you happen to be over 18. Replay value.

Among us , fall guys , rage ventures

One of these games is not like the others… Rage Ventures looks like a lazily made asset flip: Typos in the store page… Screenshots show simple geometric shapes in an empty sky box, as well as no other characters or things the player can actually do. Speaking of which: It is unclear from the description what that game is about. I’ve seen more elaborate tutorials.

Dear Gamevit, if you want to sneak in self-promotion, at the very least make sure you have something worth promoting. Frankly, I feel insulted.

You will come to know about the pros of the game when you play it bro . And yes , it is a rage game and the objective is to complete the obstacle course which consists of a maze , a greek temple , etc . I will provide you a free copy if you want . And yes , handling assets is difficult . Think before you act . I have seen your posts . You just insult others because you cannot do anything .  Something is better than nothing .What do you expect from a 14 year old??

If you want , I can add other images also .

-"handling assets is difficult" doesn't really remove the fact the you're still asset flipping.

-Don't think game devs should only be critiqued by other game devs. An opinion from someone outside of the game development scene is just as (if not more) helpful.

-"Something is better than nothing" not true especially in this case :P

-how was anyone to know you're 14, and that shouldn't really be an excuse. Quality of your creation isn't based on age.

Wechenbetelly did come off as a bit mean at the end there, but at the same time you should have expected this, especially since you priced your game (asset flipped) hoping to get a quick buck.

I am sorry too . I am working on another game in which I am not using assets . Check that out.

I'll be sure to check it out, good luck. also just a suggestion since you're 14. take this opportunity to focus on improving your games and not just outright trying to sell them. Most of use indies have to work multiple jobs just to sustain ourselves while also working on our personal games. you on the other hand can rely on your parents, so you can focus solely on improving your games. use that to your advantage >:D

First of all: Sorry to ImOwl and the other readers that this derailment happens in a threat about game recommendations.

As for Gamevit: Thanks for the offer of a free code, but I’m good.

I critiqued the way you represent your work - mainly because you abused the forum. Simultaneous to your post here you posted what should rather have been an release announcement right here in the general discussions. (A link for those interested.) And if I remember correctly, you already abused the release announcements before that, spamming those with multiple announcements for the same game. Imagine if everybody did that! We couldn’t hold a decent conversation because every developer sounded like a spam-bot. I did think before I acted: “What kind of community do I prefer?” And the answer was clear to me.

This forum is not your personal advertisement tool. If you use it with no regards for other users people will call you out on it. Today, I was just the first to respond - and I did it in this thread because I was absolutely certain that your other thread would be archived.

I get it: You are frustrated because not many people want to play your game. But on today’s market, there’s steep competition and you can’t expect your very first game to do well - especially if you put a price tag on something that another developer might not even publish. You have said you read my posts. Honestly, I’m happy you took that time. But I doubt you understood them. I point out issues to improve the situation - not to belittle anyone. Although, granted: In this particular case I chose to improve the situation by calling out your shady business practices - in the hope you would maybe feel ashamed and stop making things worse for the community as a whole as well as yourself. I’m sure I’m not the only person that has noticed you spamming. Landing on peoples’ block lists certainly won’t improve the popularity of your games.

And lastly, for all our teenage readers: If I was 14 year old (which would certainly be nice for me) it would not improve your situation or your work in any way.

I am sorry too . I am working on another game in which I am not using assets . Check that out

The assets in itself weren’t the problem. It is the divide between the quality of the assets used and the skill of the person using them that makes them stand out like a sore thumb. And I sincerely hope that that was not what you were talking about, when you said you were sorry. At no point did I want to paint developers using other artists’ assets as a bad thing. (On the contrary!)

I am sorry for getting the whole being a minor narrative wrong. I thought that sentence was meant as a weak insult towards me.

Please don’t tell us if you didn’t so far, but you (and your partner/sibling) are supposed to talk to your legal guardians about publishing that game. (At a certain point, there will be income taxes, there are also laws protecting minors from doing “child labor”, etc. It’s not just in the itch rules, this touches international laws.) If you already did that then I apologize for wasting your time with that remark.

Lastly, I think it’s better for both of us if I don’t look at any of your projects for now, so both of us can gain some emotional distance from what hopefully will soon become a long forgotten past.

Actually, I think it is fantastic that you see it that way, migaloo. You should be able to give Gamevit lots of pointers how to better promote Rage Ventures’ greatness - in that games’ comment section. Because right now, its qualities do not come across to somebody who looks at the store page. As I understand Gamevit’s posts, there aren’t many downloads on that game. So as one of the few people who took any interest and even liked the game, you should take some time out of your day to help its developer to better represent the game that you love so much.

On the other hand, if you don’t put that effort in after making this bold statement, it will look like you are just a friend of Gamevit who came to defend their honor. Which would now hurt their reputation even more - given their spam advertisements in the past…

I was “casting judgement” on the way they repeatedly broke the rules in the way they promoted their game. In the process of doing that, I pointed out flaws/issues I could see with their game’s presentation. (I am confident you will be able to recognize that when you read my posts.) Which I am suggesting you should help them with since you’re such a loyal and dedicated fan of their game.

Attacking critics doesn’t fix issues.

Thanks

Are u having fall guys steam key??

Im making a game, maybe try if you are bored
Game link

One of the best indie games I played was Braid. It has a system where you can go back in time and reverse your actions very interesting puzzle game.

This one is under development https://worldeater-dev.itch.io/bittersweet-birthday and is looking very nice!

I'm developing a Rouge Like Horde Survival game too, try it if you like this kind of game give it a try https://sinistro25.itch.io/slay-the-horde,

It just had a interesting update today.

I would definitely recommend Slay the Spire if you're after something well established and excellent.

If you wanted to play something less known about, have a go at a game I'm making called Cat-Powered UFO.
