Great game! Excellent job on the graphics and music!
Thanks for playing!! :D
The game is difficult, maybe you can reduce the player's size/hibox. But very nice game :),
The goal of this game was to be exact with the game controls, similar to Celete (which is MUCH tougher). But yeah, we're optimizing the game and a new fix should be available soon!
Really great visual and cool ambiance! Didn't understand why I would need to choose between brave or coward and what it did change thought and bigger platform or snappier jump would make it a lot more enjoyable because I felt like I was not in control of my character dying at spike that I couldn't avoid. Overall I really do feel like this is a great game, just need some polish and will be amazing!
Thanks for playing! So the difference between the two paths is that:
1. The Brave path is harder levels but you get equally good rewards!
2. The Coward path is much easier but you'll hardly get any rewards.
It's up to you to challenge the harder path which gives you higher jumps, and movement speed or go for the coward path which though easier in the beginning, will start to get hard in the last levels due to the lack of rewards.
The game's ending also changes depending on how many times you've chosen each path (you can change paths once per level at lights).
There is some issue with spikes as some users reported and we'll fix those by tomorrow.
Good game! I liked the visuals on it. The game has some minor issues, like some spikes that make my character die even with full health, and some levels where I can't see ahead because there's no light, so I have to take a leap of faith to try to find a platform.
Thanks for the review! So regarding the bugs, we're aware of the spike bug and it should be fixed by tomorrow. As for the Lights, we planned the game in such a way that you need to be fast while clearing levels before your light runs out... A couple of places in the last levels do require you to do a leap of faith but they should drop you on the next light/platform if executed properly.
Nice Game! Here are some thing, that can be improvise
But Kinda digging it !
Thanks for the feedback!
1. True, we didn't have enough time to polish the levels.
2. We planned to show a partially broken brick there, I guess we missed that change.
3. I wanted the game to be that way, a brutal retro game where once you die, you really die :D
But there are only 10 levels so it shouldn't be toooo hard, hopefully :D
Nice game! Beatiful animations.
Thanks for playing!!
Neatly crafted gaming experience, nice tutorial part with initial explanations and interesting approach to the theme! Cool game!
Glad you liked the game... I wanted the tutorial to be interactive and fun along with the game :D
Smooth controls, beautiful animations and fun platforming. I found it hard, even on the path of the coward. Death music pissed me off because I heard it way too many times :)). Solid game!
Thanks for the review!! The game is meant to be that way, that's what platformers are I believe, since Celeste was a major inspiration, especially for its smooth controls! Have fun :D
Really great game. Platformers are always great to play, very well done!
Glad you liked it :D
wow, this was so much fun - the visuals are outstanding, i love the flowing scarf and the attention to detail. the interactive music as you change worlds was also a nice touch, and the interpretation of the theme was spot on. such good work!!
Glad you loved the game!! Spending 2 whole days on just planning all the aspects of the game was worth it then xD
Incredible platformer, I like sounds and art style, WOW!Is not original platfromer but super interesting.😆
Thanks!! We didn't have enough time to implement all the features but for what it's worth, we're proud of it :D
Cool!I like the pixel matrix rendering method! May I ask how it was done?
Thanks! That was possible due to a combination of post-processing and a custom shader made by https://totolikid.itch.io for this jam!
Thank you!
A interesting game with cool graphics:) It's especially cool that the game is possible to play in the browser
Glad you think so! Have fun playing :D
That was very fun!! Clean graphics, good gameplay...I liked it a lot!!
Thanks for playing!! Glad it was worth it!
Jaw dropping looks.
Glad you think so!! :D
nice animations and artstyle! Movement feels good aswell! The only thing bothering me is the performance: I don't know if it is my pc, but for a 2d game it uses a lot of ressources, which makes the framerate (especially in the browser, but also when downloaded) drop really low sometimes.
Thanks! We'll have to look into it since only a couple of people reported having performance issues so far, but we'll optimize the game effects to make it smoother. Those might be causing issues on older hardware I guess.
This game has a really cool concept with the "get extra challenges for power-ups" angle, and I don't think it's physically possible for a game to have connected to the theme harder than yours. As some other people said though, I think there's some issues with the control and feel of the platforming at the moment. In a platformer, especially one where you can only get hit 3 times before having to restart the whole game, control and precision is pretty important, so it feels painful to die because I jumped high enough that the ground was off-screen. I also noticed that on the brave version of level 4 (the first double-jump level), I seem to die randomly when jumping near the end of the level. I can't see anything I'm hitting, so either there's something outside of the light range which I can't possibly see, or there's something invisible killing me there. If the controls and camera were tweaked and this issue was fixed though, this game seems very promising!
Glad you think so!! We are aware of the platforming issues.. we really didn't have enough time to playtest through the levels :(
We wanted the players to enjoy the different endings at the end of level 10, but it seems like that'll be difficult to do so without the fixes.
Regarding that bug, I think you might have jumped high enough somehow to hit the invisible lose boundary of the game. That definitely shouldn't happen and we'll look into that. Thanks for bringing it up!
Hope you reach the ending message at the end of level 10 :D
The game feels dramatically better now, nice job! I did notice though that on level 6, touching spikes seems to cause me to lose a lot of hearts? I got there with 3 hearts, touched a spike once, and got a game over.
Thanks!! Regarding level 6, another user also notified me of the same. I'm looking into the bug; hopefully, it'll be fixed soon!
Great Game! I really like the presentation. The Tutorial is well done and the transition between scenes is satisfying. Its interesting how you can switch between two different paths/modes that have distinct tones.
My only issue is the camera when platforming. The camera should fall faster than the player so you can see where you will land.
Making them smooth was a major point we had since it closely relates to the theme and the story. We wanted to convey what each mode means :D
That's a good point. I'll fix the camera speed in the later builds. Thanks!
UPDATE: Fixed the issues in the new builds:
Hope you reach the ending (depending on your choices), at the end of Level 10!
Really neat game! i love the atmosphere and the mechanics! Good Job!
Thanks for playing!! We're definitely proud of what we made :D
I really love this game conceptually and in terms of presentation, it's all really cool! I felt like the player was a tad difficult to control though, and the obstacles required jumps that i thought were a bit too precise, which are all things that can quite comfortably get fixed with future updates. I'm really excited to see how this game evolves cuz there's a ton of promise!
I totally agree with that. We didn't have enough time to polish and playtest all the levels so it might be a tad tougher. But as you said, it can all be fixed in future updates and we do plan to do a full release down the line, hopefully with a lot more gameplay and fun elements :D
UPDATE: Fixed the issues in the new builds:
Hope you reach the ending (depending on your choices), at the end of Level 10!
Perfect! These fixes have improved the game tenfold really awesome stuff, I was able to beat both paths!
That's awesome!!! Hope you liked the endings :D
Feel free to post the speedrun timings in the comments :)
