The cursed animation-driven actions/AI systems. They're extremely jank but work surprisingly well

At first, this game seemed too clunky and slow to me, but after a few smooth pairings, especially vs the disguised opponent, it became really enjoyable to play. After defeating the final opponent, I felt hunger for more!

This is really good thank you

Nicely made game, the animations are great and the eerie atmosphere is on point!

I did find that I could easily beat the enemies though, simply by keeping my distance, starting an attack, running towards them to hit, then run straight backwards again. That way they wouldn't be able to hit me... You might want to add a defensive move on the enemies for players doing that perhaps :)

All-in-all, I did enjoy playing it. The characters were spooky and the whole environment had a real eerie feel to it - great job!

Hi, managed to kill every single enemy without dying, I'm proud of myself :333.

The atmosphere is great, really well done. I loved the combat system, it reminded me slightly of Sekiro's one with that deflect mechanic. Overall a really solid game, it had some lag spikes but nothing crazy.

At the end the game just restarted, don't know if it was intended or a bug, it ended too suddenly, adding just a screen with a "End" title would've made the job here.

Anyways, solid game, good luck with it <33333

wow, this was a lot fun! i really love how the whole world looks, the homunculus experiment backdrop of the game is very unsettling! the animations are also really posed and framed, really matches that psx era of games well and contributes to the whole vibe! not just visual, but the auditory experience matches so well with its aesthetics and does a good job providing feedback to the player, well done!

i had a lot fun with the combat as well, trying to learn the parry times of the different moves (though i am incredibly bad)! quick question, not sure if i ran into a bug, but are the homunculus with the blue faces killable? i died to it on the bridge and then went back for a rematch, but then at some point the hits started not registering (or at least i couldn't hear the sfx) even when i was really close to it. after that point, it kept retaining aggro after every death and chased me to the ends of the earth. it got to the point where i was hilariously spawned camp since it just kept attacking the spawn point (managed to escape after spamming parry). this caused the game to then turn into re2 remake where i was just dodging Mr X the whole time, don't know if it was intended but was fun nonetheless xd.

anyways, this was really well done, had blast playing, great work!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! The thing with the invincible enemy is definitely a bug; while developing the game I had an issue with enemies not losing aggro when they reset after the player dies, and I thought I managed to get rid of it before submitting the game, but it seems it just came back and made them invincible too. I guess that mechanic is just really prone to bugs. I think it may be occurring when an enemy is killed as the player dies; I’ll try to fix it once the jam is over. Sorry it happened to you.

Very nice little game, it got some lag spikes on my end. Overall it was a good game, I just thought it was a bit too slow.

I liked the fighting mechanic, it feels polished. I didn't find it too hard (tho I got killed once) but maybe a little slow? But it's just my feeling.
As mentioned in some comments earlier, world and atmosphere are interesting - would like to see more of it
Good game!

I really love how this game looks and the main fighting mechanic, but as you said it was a bit too hard. I feel every enemy should be a bit weaker by themselves or there should be way less enemies. Still, you created a nice world that got be that has me wanting to learn mroe about, with really great visuals and sfx on top of that. Nice job!

Game is a simple sword fight game vs white homunculi mannequins i feel like the gameplay is too slow and easily cheese-able. i also found there is a bugged mannequin that just can't be hit idk if its intended or not. Game presentation in its atmosphere is good. Melee Swordfight is quite unique too.

if the game is a tiny bit faster it will feel like a bit of dishonored. well done

Love it. Simple little game but it’s very atmospheric and pale white homunculi wielding swords is cool.

I think you have the shader caching issue with Godot, which might be causing those lag spikes when you first clash swords/parry and it emits particles. not sure what version your on, but this might help: https://travismaynard.com/writing/caching-particle-materials-in-godot

Ohh, so that’s what it was. I thought it was some exotic issue with not preloading the sounds until they’re played.

I liked the concept. Died many times.
