I do wish that the walk speed was much higher, but maybe you want it that way to be more decisive and strategy oriented later on with more battery management with each step?

Indeed, for this game, the walk cycle was decidedly kept slow. Though I am starting work on a more action-oriented game, so the walk speed is definitely something to keep in mind.
As for when I started making games. Hmm, I messed around with rpg maker as early as in 2012. After 2016 I got GMS 1 and started trying to make my own assets and program my own games more seriously. As someone who's self-taught through mediums like youtube, I'd say I'm still learning everyday though and this was my first time using gms 2 ^ _ ^
And yes! I did make the concept and game assets by myself. Though there are a few public domain sound effects in the game and the colors are adapted from mortmort's pixel pallet. Everything else I made myself.
Wow, that's really awesome for a self-taught person using GMS2 for the first time. I saw GM1 around before, but it didn't have the capabilities that I needed and I didn't want to drop that much money for it (I also didn't really have a "message" I wanted to say yet); however, I recently resolved myself to try to make games, because I have so many ideas, and I finally realized that I shouldn't have listened to my college advisor who discouraged me from my original dream of being a game developer (like in 2005 or something like that). So I'm kind of behind everyone else, but I think my experience with programming has thankfully helped me adapt faster to catch-up.

Voted all 5 stars, I love puzzles and this one is indeed a cool one. The battery drain was too quick but I bet you already have a lot of ideas on how to make a fun mechanic from this. Good luck!
Wow, thanks a lot. I honestly should have mentioned that one puzzle is supposed to be a difficult challenge as a test of all of the puzzles before honestly, along with making it a bit more lenient.

The glow effect is made using surfaces, yoyogames themselves have a tutorial explaining how it works. I just modified it to fit my game's style and made sprites for each different color.
Great puzzle game, would love to see it expanded with a story. The limiting light source does give it a claustrophobic feel to it in the beggining. That's a great starting point and down the line you can upgrade your seeing radius and it'd be a nice way to see progress on your player.
Solid blocks and switches look very similar to each other, one puzzle I was stuck until I realized that one switch wasn't a solid block.
It's a solid loop, I think adding bits of story in between puzzles and you'll have a solid game in your hands.

It reminds me of playing lagdou ruins in FESS. Trying again and again while trying to solve the puzzle.
The arts kinda creepy when I put the jolly face on the robot but the morose atmosphere and finding light is a little bit therapeutic in depression. It's not as complicated as it could be, which is wonderful because there's way too many complicated things to deal with anyway. The robot personalization kinda put me in the little guys shoes and I got attached to it.
It's not bad but I feel like some tweaks would go a long way.
The limited battery is quite a pain, perhaps making it only drain when using the lights of the robot would be a better idea. And maybe having a long range front light would be more useful than a short 360 one.
The music is quite interesting, tho, was this a solo dev project?

Yes, it was a solo project. And I've actually received input before that I tend to go a bit too loud with my music so I went for a more minimalist ambient style this time around, I'm glad you noticed!

There is no sense of the benefit from the possibility of lighting by the character, we only spend the battery. And at one of the levels, it turns out that if you come with a small charge, you will practically not win (where you need to charge the blocks).

The character light is made for a risk-reward system. You can get an understanding of the room layout faster, at the expense of less battery. Also here's a small secret, whenever you restart, you will always be given enough battery back to be able to finish each room's puzzle. = )
