This is a great game, good graphics, fun and well developed, congratulations again.
A tight, frantic arcade style game. Great pixel art, easy learning curve. Great music. I don't think the game needed the constant buzzing sound effect. Other than that, this was a nicely executed game. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback! We actually implemented a fade in/out for the buzzing based on proximity of the bugs, but after balancing out the spawn rate it ended up that we always wanted bugs on the screen to maintain the pace of the game >_>. In hindsight it probably would have been better to gradually fade it out once you notice the bugs spawning and maybe bring it back in at the end when the spawn rate dramatically increases.
A fun, short, effective tower defense. Good job ^ _ ^
Thanks for giving the game a try!
Cute game and animations! :)
Thanks for playing!
Awesome job for a person who just learned GMS! It working smoothly and well. The idea of lights and bugs is very funny. Nice core gameplay for the tower defense game. I'd love to see where it will go, imagine turrels and different fly swatter types :D
It's simple yet the gameplay is perfectly understandable and loved the education. It was hard for me to kill all the flies but probably you should test on different people who are more accustomed to action games.
TOP music! really interesting and sounds great you got talent!
Thanks for playing! There were a lot of firsts for us but it was a good learning experience.
well, this reminds me of the oldie: Pssst! . Look for it, if you cant remember. Quite fine.
Thanks for the heads up! I don't think I've even seen a ZX Spectrum in person before, but I can see the resemblance o_0
Yeah, search those times, then creativity ruled, as studios were like todays' indies.
Pretty nice visuals, fun theme, cool music, very nice and satisfying animations, very well done!
Thanks for playing! This was the first time I tried making music so it was a huge learning experience.
That was a fun little game! I thought it got a lot more hectic after the outer lights were on, but that was a good thing. It definitely got more fun as the game went on and more stuff was unlocked. Great work!
Thanks for trying it out! Its a little slow in the beginning, but when we increased the spawn rate it made it a little too difficult when bugs spawned on opposite sides of the room.
Great game, congratulations!
Initially it looked like it wasn't going to be good, but right after the first upgrade it was very interesting
I managed to escape the planet \o/
Thanks for playing! I think if we were to build it out further it might be good to try to stagger the upgrades into smaller increments to get to the first one faster.
Nice artwork. Everything seems really clean and well put together. If I had to come up with a criticism, it would be that the game could use some more variety - but since this was made under a time constraint for a game jam, I don't think a criticism like that is valid here. This is a good looking and playing prototype.
Thanks for the feedback! We tried to focus on making a simple game to ensure we could finish on time. I think we spent about a week on the concept and core gameplay and spent the rest of the time on polish, bug fixing, and sneaking in minor features.
Great work! I escaped!! The graphics were fantastic! The core game loop was solid and easy to understand! I had a lot of fun playing this! Good job!!
Thank you for playing!
Proud escapee of Bug Planet :)
The bug sounds were totally NOT irritating ;) Rated!
Thanks! It was even MORE annoying at first because we tried having the sound come from each bug o_0
Wow! The difficulty ramped up fast as soon as the beacons were lit! I'm swttin and runnin around, and they're just destroying everything! haha
Thanks for giving it a try! We had set the spawn rate super high once for testing and thought it would be good to include that near the end to give the player a scare.
This is quite a good game, very fun! I think you could make the attacking a bit more engaging but it's tons of fun as it is
Thanks for playing our game!
Super cute game! Getting the 2nd upgrade with the turrets was a very nice feeling of power! Took awhile to learn that I could just hold to attack, random enemy placements made it a little bit RNG based too. I liked having to manage all the different towers and not just having to focus on the one, very unique! Other additions like more weapons, upgrades, and enemy types would very well make this a nice full official game! Well done!
Thanks for playing! The original version we made had the turrets as the first upgrade, but it made the lights feel too inconsequential. We definitely have a huge list of ideas we brainstormed that didn't make it into the game jam timeframe.
A really cute Tower defense game. The bugs got really intense by the end. I did find it strange that there wasn't really a reason to worry about the bugs because the player didn't take damage, and the player felt slow near the end of the game. It was really cool and would make for a great web HTML game.
Thanks for giving it a try! We had a lot of fun trying to balance out the rate of bug spawning (especially at the end once the beacon goes off).
Very cute game!
Thanks for giving it a look!
An interesting, dynamic, beautiful game!
Passed the first time! Good job! =)
Thanks! We tried something simple to make sure we could take it to completion and spent the rest of the time polishing what we could. It feels good to actually "finish" a game!
