Although it is so fucking hard, this game is incredible. Good colors, good music, great combat and so much more. I just wish there were more tutorial levels, because that combo thing was really hard to hit properly (maybe I'm just bad idk). If you're willing to frustrate yourself, give this game a try. I still didn't finish it yet.

My 1st time with wall-jumpers and not so difficult to utilize this skill, I can say. Though, overall my agility to control the catlady is insufficient. Never mind, the checkpoint system is spot-on, like the gfx. (Perhaps later on the bright lights may be disturbing, who knows?)

Please support a gamepad or multiple key control layouts - I thought this entry looked really interesting but I couldn't really play it with that control scheme. Maybe it's just me but I was feeling like I need to break my fingers just for a simple dash. Apart from that just like I said: looks super interesting!

I'll properly add that with a good menu system and various other settings later.

I wish i could do it now but i have to take care of college stuff first

Ok, so I felt that the movement mechanics weren't quite right, especially the dash: it was extremely fast, and I feel it could be more controlled if it was slower. The visuals were good but not perfect, you could've added more visual effects and particles, and the tutorials could be more readable and visible. At first I didn't know the little arrow in the dashing tutorial was supposed to be the cursor. The gameplay was quite good though.

thanks for the feedback!

THE BEST 2D GAME I EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE! DESERVES A LOT OF WINNING, A VERY COMPETENT AND TALENT DEVELOPER. A MASTERPIECE. #fernandesobrabo

Developer (1 edit)

I understand that you guys are my friends and want me to win and i appreciate that, but there is no need to say that the game is perfect when it isn't.

Just say what you enjoyed and what you didn't, besides that, thanks bro!

Your game is very nice visually and fits the theme well. I can tell you put a lot of thought into the setting and atmosphere and it turned out really nice!! The character is really cute too!! While I was playing I had this thought that it would be cool if the falling platforms lit up when you land on them. Idk why I thought that, but I thought I'd share that with you :D

Amazing Jam!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, also thats a really good ideia , i'm gonna add it to the final version if i make one!

:D

the controls are a little weird, I loved the look and the music chosen, the choice of colors is very nice

The controls are a little weird, the platforms mechanics are a bit rough, but the visual style is amazing, also really cool ideas in general well done!

IT IS INCRIDEDABLE MAN! The graphics, the gameplay, everything! Just a little blind here and there but i love it!

Cool game! I liked the color mood.   Attack animation was nice too.   Controls are a bit unforgiving I think. Like jumping from a platform or a wall should still work a couple of frames even when you already fell of the platform, it's not realistic but feels nicer.  Also I had a really werid bug  when I spawned at a checkpoint it saved my last movement and dashes up into the laser again and again :/   Nice entry tho :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, i'll fix all those bugs when i have time after the jam and release a new version of the game!

Well done, beautiful platformer.

It turned out to be not convenient control for me: it would be better to assign a jump to W, but a dash to Space. There are not enough sounds. Good luck with your development! =)

Thx, if i end up making a final version for steam i'll add options for other keybindings!

Visuals are pretty great, but the gameplay is stiff :(

Would love much smoother movement.

Developer

what makes it stiff for you?

Also thx for the critic (;

Submitted(+1)

Linear movement, lack of air control after dash (you just fall down), poor platform placement.

Developer(+1)

Got it! One of the movement scripts i wrote for the player has inertia in it, but i ended up not using it because it took control away from the player.

i'll try to mix the two of them the next time i make a game!

Thx for the review!

Thx ,i'll pay more attention to coyote time next time!

Also, if you're having trouble, check out the game page, i made a gameplay tutorial!

Very nice visuals! Overall idea is great, just a couple small issues that can be easily tweaked. Movement feels a bit stiff, for example, wall jumping is very strict and can feel inverted, would help to have a coyote timer on it. The dashes feel unreliable on some movement sections, in which some directions (diagonals?) go way further than normal directions.

The combat can be tedious, due to large enemy health, speed based movement platformers mostly have lower enemy health to keep the flow of the game moving. I found myself having to just camp a corner and deflect the bullets to be able to beat some levels.

Overall though, very nice idea! Could very well be expanded upon into a great game! I'm excited to see where this goes!

Developer

yeah, i completely forgot to fix the dash, also the enemy health i could lower it a bit, however in some cases it is useful so you can combo-dash them!

I mean, the original idea was to be more of a hack and slash with various combos and heavy and light attacks, where a different combo trows the enemy on a different direction,  but i didn't have time to make various combos so i just left one and made it throw the enemy towards the mouse.

Glad to hear you enjoyed!

Also thanks for the critic, it helps a lot!

;D

Hi! Overall, a fun game with good visuals, keep me enterteined for a while.

One thing though, in my opinion, that the dash system depends on the mouse should be reviewed, or in any case, better explained.

Developer(+1)

Hey,  couldn't put better tutorials inside the game in time for the jam, so i made a gameplay tutorial video , you can check it out on the game page!

Hope it Helps!

Amazing game! Great visuals, nice controls, and over-all an awesome experience! Only thing is that the game doesn't showcase that well the controls. For example, I didn't you could dash with "Shift" until I checked the game page itself. Other than that, great game! Could use some minor tweaks, but no major changes needed!

Developer(+1)

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Looks really well made, could use some optimization of controls as I got stuck on the second screen. Overall visuals are nice and clean. Gameplay is well done although better control scheme would be asked.

Developer

Hi , sorry for the controls being unclear!

I made a gameplay tutorial that you can watch in the game page , hope it helps!

Also thanks for the review!
