How does your game represent "Power"?
• Defeating sequential enemies gradually upgrades The POW-er's attack, regarding damage output, range, and physical size.

• Each stage ends in a punchslinger showdown to decide who is powerful enough to earn the spot at the train station.

• The POW-er knows nothing but the feeling of fist meeting flesh.

If you think this game is clunky, shut up and look at my high score (Love the game!)

Really nice style, pretty smooth gameplay - loved the jump animation, it was kinda funny :D Thank you for making the gam, I enjoyed it!

I really liked the art and the idea of the game, but it felt a little difficult to crawl your way back up power in some areas if you got unlucky. It feels like the hit detection is a tad unforgiving at times when you'd commit to a punch attack and take damage from the same enemy you kill... The platforming seemed a bit difficult at times in both landing on tiny platforms and controlling the jump... In certain spots it seemed like there was no way around large enemies or ones with projectiles which it felt like there was no counter to; It overall made the experience rather frustrating, which was a bummer because I really did like the idea and the art style!

The setting was cool and I thought the timer being a huge train coming out of nowhere was pretty original and funny.

I guess I'm just coming off of playing the game and being rather frustrated at it, so sorry if the review feels fairly negative, I think it was a good game, especially in the limited time!

Thanks for playing! We designed it like an arcade game, which is to say we don't expect anyone to be a master of it after a single clear. I bet if you ran it through a few more times you'd manage to better understand and overcome those parts you found frustrating :)

I felt bad about leaving so much criticism in frustration and after cooling off a bit I played through the game again in its entirety. A very important thing in the game is pressing R to restart the stage. I was expecting the game to be something that I could claw my way back up from if I got knocked down too many power levels, but it feels more like trying to string together a combo throughout the stage and if you mess up in the middle, you need to reset.

That's not a bad thing at all, but I misunderstood that being the angle and must have overlooked the R to restart thing the first time. First attempt, any time I messed up I would just sit back and wait for the train to try again. Re-rating your game with a new perspective, sorry for not understanding it the first go around

Awesome game. Really enjoyed the art, music and sound design. Feels really polished, although a brake button would be nice for some occasions. I did get a little frustrated at the final level though, it feels a little too punishing to have tumbleweeds reset almost all of your power. Other than that, I had a blast. I probably would play a longer version of this. What was that ending image though? I don't remember having that image taken of me.

Thanks for playing! And we took that pic when you weren't looking. Don't worry about it

I really like the alien cowboy aesthetic you got going on and that you can tell at which point you can successfully hit an enemy by their color. I felt very powerful at 20 or so strength and fly across the map hitting enemies on my way there! Very nice of you to take a picture with me for the credits :)

Thanks for the kind words! And for playing to the end :)

The art style is so charming, and launching yourself across the screen with a lot of power feels great!

Thank you!!

also the music, the music is gold

The ambience is top notch, the art and animation aswell, i love everything of it, the big problem that i could see in this game is that is clunky, input is sometimes messy and punching dosent always gives you power, idk if this last thing is a mechanic you guys implemented tho, the gamplay sometimes feels not so good due to the clunkyness, but i really hope to see an update and play it again later on :3, it has a really good art and i love the game over mechanic, its really fun.

Thanks for playing! There is a soft "EXP" system of which a certain amount is required for each power level increase. Connecting combos rewards more EXP than single kills as well. Of course the scaling of this gets pretty nuts pretty quickly to facilitate the fun of having such a huge fist, so I can understand how later on it might seem like "one kill = one power level" – but it is a little more nuanced than that!

Very fun game, interesting mechanic. Aesthetically very pleasing and consistent and I really like the whole iterating on a path through the level aspect of it. My only issue is that it can feel a bit unfair trying to figure out how far the dash will go, especially with things way off screen. Other than that it feels like a pretty complete game, of everything I've played so far probably deserves to win the most.

Wow, thanks for the kind words!! That's very generous. Ya all three of us on the team really love routing-based score attack games, so I'm glad that aspect shone through lol

Crazy fun, A really good main mechanic executed fantastically!
love the almost puzzle esque approach to a brawling platformer

the music from level 2 slaps hard as fuck (so does every other song)
the run cycle is animated beautifully (so is everything else)

great work!
