HARNESS THE POWER OF SPEED

Use the Left and Right Sticks to control each rocket's thrust. Hold both sticks straight up to accelerate forward, and turn by lowering the thrust of the opposite rocket. Pull both sticks down to slow down. Brake hard with the Triggers.

Complete Time trials to upgrade your rockets and earn the power of true speed

Love the idea for controls, though I highly recommend showing the keyboard options as well at the start, took me a second to find them. Your concept is obviously awesome. Zooming around in a rocket car speaks for itself on how cool it is. I think some things are a bit rough around the edges (could definitely use a compass pointing the next marker and respawn positions can be a bit cruel). My outsider's advice would be to try changing how turning works, I'm wondering if it would be better/more funny if the player was constantly trying to fix sensitive, over-corrective turns rather than slow and under-corrective turns, then goals could be a bit smaller to compensate and driving would still be crazy while also being faster. But at the end of the day, I had a really good time with this game, so please keep working on it!

Wow thanks so much for the in depth feedback! I see what you mean that more sensitive steering could lead to more chaotic gameplay. We definitely want to keep working on this and will likely play with the feeling of the rockets as we do. Really glad you liked our game, I had a blast finishing yours :)

Fun game! I loved stopping to see all the details in the map, I think a full version for sure could use a free-roam mode. Really impressive visuals for a gamejam game, and I think the controls a pretty solid for what's here so far!

Thanks for the kind words! Free roam is definitely something we'd want to add, and I originally wanted to have a bit of exploration involved in finding the races but we had to simplify it in the end. Really appreciate you playing our game

Very interesting use of RC/drone controls. Had to plug in a controller. Intro cinematic was beautiful. Would've appreciated an audio slider since Windows makes you jump through 10 damn hoops now to get to the volume mixer but that's not your fault. Cool setting too.

Its a very unique but fun turning mechanic, I do like it, but I was having issues with my controller and couldnt get the full experience, does the game support keyboard? Either way, nice job making something I don't think anybody has done before!

Yeah really not sure why we had such a hard time getting controllers to work universally, many 3rd party controllers just don't work without steam overlay but some only work with it disabled? Definitely some weirdness going on there. You can in fact okay with keyboard, W/S and Up/Down arrow keys + both CTRL keys brake. It doesnt feel quite as good imo but it works. Thanks a ton for giving our game a shot and leaving feedback!

The controls took a little bit to get used to, but once I got it down, it was fun seeing the convertible flailing around as it was being dragged by two spaceship rockets, lol.

We definitely wanted to try something new, the control scheme is certainly a bit experimental but i think it ended up flowing nicely. Glad you enjoyed our game once you got the hang of it, thanks a ton for playing!

Once I got the hang of it, it became quite enjoyable.

The camera swap after dying or succeeding the first trial feels somewhat awkward, but the wider angle/view is better after that first trial.
Ended up dying after trial 3 once my rockets got to average 124 mph as checkpoints were positioned a bit too close for that speed (like turning around felt impossible).

Nice presentation, plus I also love that some effort went into a quirky main menu .

Really appreciate the feedback! Definitely need to get that camera bug on the second race sorted out. The track layout is all a first pass and we ran out of time to make changes, but absolutely want to work more on some of the layouts and add more races. I'm glad you were able to have fun with it, thanks for playing our game!

Love the concept and the vibe! Super cool Americana feeling.

I struggled a bit with the rules. Once I missed a single checkpoint I was sort of stuck racing without progressing at all.  So then I started driving really slowly to help keep between the checkpoints. The risk of missing a checkpoint, given the wide turning circle, was too great.

The check points also don't follow the road, which means I had no idea where the next checkpoint will be, so I couldn't go fast because the checkpoint might require me to take a corner sharply.

I think I could really love this game if the level design helped me feel like a badass. It's such a cool theme for a racing game!

very good point, I wish I had more time to build and test the tracks to make them flow better. We were really down to the wire and the first pass of the track layouts ended up needing to be locked in. The road was meant to be cosmetic but using it as a guide certainly would  have been helpful! Maybe we could have added a UI arrow to point to the next checkpoint too? The turning radius should be pretty tight though, you can pull back on the stick to turn harder and pushing both triggers let's you brake hard and turn even quicker if that helps.

Haha the gas station should absolutely explode! You do explode when you hit it but the camera can get a little funky sometimes so you can't always see the effect. Thanks for playing our game!

the game looks really cool and fun but my controller doesn't work, i read the thing about closing steam but the problem is I'm using a switch pro controller which is only supported through steam on windows. I tried closing steam anyway and it didn't work still. Some kind of fix would be cool because the game really looks like fun but the keyboard controls are pretty unusable.

Switch pro controller eh? Would love to have been able to test and optimize for every controller but we worked until the last minute just to get what we got working lol. We'll certainly look into it in the future, my main controller doesn't cooperate without steam overlay as well, so it'd be nice to make the game more comparable in the future. I have a decently powerful computer, the game ran at maybe 2 frames a second, 

music, presentation, aesthetics all great just unplayable sadly

Dang, sorry about that, we enabled basic optimizations and kept assets light but one of our devs had a similar problem. Sadly not enough time to troubleshoot during the jam, but we may keep working on this in the future to get it payable on more PCs. Thanks for trying it out!

I've updated the download link to use Google Drive instead, Dropbox apparently started to limit download traffic anyways.

Known Bugs: 

- Checkpoints occasionally don't register.

- Dying occasionally breaks the players camera.

- Resetting from the pause menu occasionally breaks the checkpoints.

- Some respawn points are underground and the player cannot return.

- Win screen freezes instead of allowing free roam.
