How does your game represent "Power"?
The central narrative of the game is about the Power struggle surrounding a group of inmates in an underground bunker.
"Its like what my man Tupac Says 'No one man should have all that power' ~ Pac" ~Dunkey
Wow, really enjoyed this one.
The writing and characters were fairly simple but I was surprised at how much the branching paths were fleshed out over the course of a jam. I only had time to get 3/4(?) endings, but was surprised to see even that many. The different endings actually give some meaning to the power struggle theme, where different characters having power leads to drastically different story outcomes.
The mood of the game was really good. It was very ominous and quiet. The lack of music makes the music in the ending scenarios really striking, and the songs chosen for them were evocative and well-fitting. The way the environment changes over the course of the game gives some physicality to the relations between the characters and the characters' personalities. Great job doing a lot with a little there.
The character sprites were nice too. Something about billboarded characters in 3D environments always evokes Danganronpa for me, especially when you have a cast of visually distinct characters like this.
This is such a cool game. It has really good atmosphere, and the pacing is akin to games like Mouthwashing. It's rare to see full story focused games in a jam, and this is a really cool one! I really enjoyed the take on the "death games" genre, and like many titles in that genre this game is carried by its interesting characters. Great work!
Really cool game, reminded me a lot of the movie Cube. Loved how the world changed to reflect all the characters' actions each day, that made it feel very immersive
Nice idea! I didn't quite feel I had control of what was going on - like I didn't want to kill those people, but it was presented as if I chose that. Also, since I got the keys before I talked with everyone - I wasn't able to hear their part of the story. And I think it can be fixed with some action like pressing yes/no upon interaction. Also, the music stopped after some point - not sure if it was intentional.
That said, it's a nice idea and has a nice ambience. It had a vibe of "12 angry men," especially at first. Well done!
I love these types of stories. This game was very fun, I just wish I didn't kill both of the leaders. I can't believe the coward killed me. This game was very immersive, the sound effects when I woke up were very spooky as well. The art was very clean and all the characters were interesting. Nice game!
I also thought of doing "power struggle" theme, but I was going to get nowhere near your creativity, great work!
Interesting interpretation of the theme! You did great given that these types of narratives need quite some time to develop into gripping stories
Awesome game! I have only done one playthrough so far but I definitely want to come back and get more of the endings! Very eager to learn how everyone got stuck down here in the first place. I got something of a Danganronpa vibe from this, too. Well done!
I love how you interpreted the theme as a power struggle! I was impressed by the story that was told in such a compact environment and amount of time. Each character had a unique personality, design or quirk, it was interesting to see how things would play out. Fantastic work!
*Spoilers ahead
I liked the reveal of The Stranger being The Killer in one of the routes. I thought I was on the right track when splitting the key between the Kingpin and the Businessman, but I didn't expect my character to deal with both of them so suddenly! I was able to get two endings and I assume there are at least three, but I'm curious how many in total there are.
I love how you dealt with the theme of the Jam, power struggles are really nice to have them play in an interactive game! I did struggle a bit roaming around, as the game felt a bit too dark at time.
this is amazingly well done. its size is huge 670 MB is kinda crazy. but the game itself is beautiful. lovely artstyle, the audio is really well made and atmospheric. i loved the story, the characters are great. lovely and heavily underrated. great job.
YES!! WE NEED MORE STORY-DRIVEN JAM GAMES!!! i loved the characters and the storyline.. i thought i was doing the right thing but alas... ;P GREAT WORK!!
Surprised me with how well put together and engrossing this is. Nice characters, cool environment, great design. Great job, would deliberately murder Marv from Home Alone again. :)
As everyone else has been saying - the visuals are real nice! It sets the tone for game and immediately I thought "Ah crap, it's going to be a horror game" once I'd walked through the first few halls haha, so it had me feeling dread.
