Great sounds and really enjoyed the surprise on the first boss! I do wish the base paddle speed was higher or the ball speed was lower. Sorely missing some kind of directional influence based on where the ball hits the paddle. Otherwise, very solid!~
Love this so much!! Love the comedy and art style. I'm so sad that when I failed the pong fight (which goes on for too long imo) it put me back at the start of the whoooole game. Not a fan of that, discouraged me from trying again. Also in most Arkanoid-likes the angle the ball bunces is determined by where on the paddle it hits, I think that would be better for player strategy and providing options. Also some levels had block really low on the screen which was difficult to catch the rebound from. But yeah apart from those things this is super cool, polished and well done. Great job!
This game needs so many more people to play it. Its extremely creative and well-made. I specifically love the art, the comedy, the gameplay, and the first boss. The only thing I can think I would want changed on my end is the text as at a number of times it was slightly more difficult to read than I think it should have.
Our whole game dev team played this and were like "WOAH"
I would look forward to a more polished expanded release of this game.
Nice mix between brick breaker, slay the spire and balatro! I had enjoyed playing it. A small circle around where the player currently is, would be a good idea for the map I believe. And making the gameplay a bit more chaotic would make it more fun I believe. Very nice game!
Your presentation is great. The art style and sounds are amazing. I think this game has potential to be expanded on and see success. Really, it's good! That's why I feel obligated to give some criticism.
I think the fundamentals could use a bit more work. The ball moves too quickly and randomly for the slow movement of the paddle. Maybe if the paddle movement was handled my the mouse instead? It would let you open up the skill ceiling much further. It would also open up the skill ceiling if you let the paddle velocity influence the ball's direction when it bounces. I also struggled with the UI and how to navigate through it, maybe some on-screen labels would help with that.
Otherwise, one of the better games I've played in the game jam. Really good work, bravo!
This one really has potential to be a full game. I'd love for you guys to continue exploring the idea and making it better! The artwork and theming is really really good and breaking bricks feels great. If you can find a way to make items feel more meaningful and impactful I think you have a great game here
I love brick breaker and had a very fun time with this game! I was able to almost get to the boss a few times and saw a couple random events as well (unfortunately I'd already spent all my money so I couldn't see what they might've done lol). Nice job, thanks for the fun!
This is a pretty neat brick-breaker game! The gems for the bricks somewhat reminds me of Puchi Carat by Taito from the late 90s, if that makes sense. I especially like the creativity of the boss stages; the first boss was especially challenging for me.
