Cool game! Nice minimalist style and awesome sounds and music.

(btw play my submission if you have the time :D)

Developer

Thank you! Ill check out your game right now!

What a great game! I love how you can pick up enemy bullets as well as your own. I also like the little characters, but I feel like the levels could be a bit more asthetically pleasing with consistant pixel size in elements like the UI and cursor. I like the music as well. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! Yes ill have to look into better polishing of the UI and pixel sizes!

Nice minimalist style and super addicting! Amazing game!

Great game! I love the risk-reward scenario where you could let them shoot at you so that you can stock up on more ammo but if you do you're more likely to lose. Great work! Keep it up!

Simple but clear and consistent aesthetic, with really nice tight controls, and an engaging short and long-term gameloop as you lose then desperately try to get bullets from enemies without dying first.
Had a lot of fun playing this. Best I managed was 24 kills.

- My favorite part was those intense moments where you shoot your last bullet, miss, and then have that real speed without any bullets left, enemy shoots and you use that speed to dodge, grab their bullet and manage to shoot again and kill them, in the moment forgetting to go and pick up the bullet because they despawn and then freezing as you wait for the next spawn to pop up haha. Great experience and implementation of the theme, that made for a good game.
The despawn for the bullets was a great design choice and really made it all more tense and fun.
Really appreciated the spawn indicators, and being able to swap hands holding the weapon, QOL features that really helped improve the experience.
I like the consistency and pacing of the time between shots of enemies, that makes you feel more in control when you need to manipulate them to try and actively dodge and get a bullet from them.
Good choice of music/sound, and the font complimented the art well.

- I think with how important it is to know you've shot your last bullet, even if sometimes you're in a position to notice that from your speed, it would be good to have that indicated more. For example a particle smoke cloud from the weapon like it has blasted its final shot and is smoking. In the heat of the action it can be hard to keep track of your bullet count from just the top right indicator, and needing to actually find another bullet is 'more' than just needing to reload in a regular game so I feel something more needs to be there for it.

Oh thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

yes, a better indication of having fired you last bullet would be nice! Ill have to think on that one and come up with an idea! Thank you!!         I like the idea of having a particle effect happen when the last bullet is fired!

Submitted(+1)

:) No worries, thanks for making it.

Glad to hear you agree and it helped, good luck finding the right particle for it.

i like the concept you can make it a couch game but you are vs other players

Developer

That is exactly what I am making next!! Hopefully you'll come back and play it once I finish that!

Really nice concept with a lot of juice in the gunshots, would have liked a little more telegraphing on the enemy attacks but it was still great fun :)

Awesome game! Super cool concept and very well executed!

best game ever I spent like 4 hours playing my first time  and couldn’t get off  I really like how  you made  it

Developer

Thank you!

I didn't read all the game's instructions before playing (they're great and very clear BTW), but don't regret it. I blindly went into this thinking it'd be like Enter the Gungeon with bullets flying everywhere. I thought the game broke when my gun only shot 1 bullet. But, when I understood the game's main mechanic of picking up bullets, it became so much cooler! Very fun!!

Would appreciate you checking out my game! :)

Developer

Thank you! Yes, next time I want to have a tutorial for the player so its even easier to understand the game mechanics.

This was a fun one .

My only issue is looking at bright white screen all the time. It hurts my eyes a bit :)

I don't like anonymous votes, so here is my rating for the game.

Keep up the good work!

Developer

thank you! In the future I can add a settings value to change the background brightness!

Really cool game.  Takes me back to the 8 bit days!

Additing experience! the theme was fun and i loved the idea

but i would have loved for the enemy bullet to be a bit slower

Submitted(+2)

Enjoyable to play it! I like to go around to take bullets fired by enemies!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I want to add wandering to the Enemy AI so they are just waiting for you to come close enough!

Submitted(+1)

Very good,
It's a shame you can't implement the "only able shoot bullets that have been fired at you"
rule in real life :)

25 kill 80 sec ! Amaaaaazing game!

Please check my game as well :)

Developer

Wow thats a ton! I will for sure check out your game! Thanks for playing

I like this game! Great gameplay! Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

Developer

Thank you! Playing yours now :)

This game made me feel like John Wick a little bit, especially with the 1 vs multiple enemies aspect of the game. The visuals, music, and gameplay are cute and contribute to the feel of the game. 10/10 would recommend.

Thank you!

This Game Is So Addicting. I tried to stop myself from playing after 10 deaths and I'm glad I didn't. The running speed mechanic encourages chain killing enemies and it is so god damn fun.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you found it addicting! What was your highest kill count?? How long did you last?

Submitted(+1)

My best score is 72 kills in 95 seconds. What is yours?

Developer(+1)

Holy cow! 72 kills!!! mine is nowhere near that lol! My highest is only 48 kills

Submitted(+1)

Yeah I probably played it for over an hour in total. It really starts getting fun when 10 enemies get spawned in at the same time and you have to kill them before they kill you. Still the best game I've played this jam. Also, I was wondering if you played Hotline Miami? I think you'd like it!

Developer(+1)

I have never played Hotline Miami, but when I was showing a friend of mine my game he told me to look into it.

I was thinking about adding a multiplayer to OneShot. Like a 4 player couch free for all option. Same concept but with no enemies

Submitted(+1)

HM is fun for some of the same reasons your game is fun: killing enemies before they can react and then using their weapon to kill other enemies. I couldn't recommend it more.

Multiplayer sounds awesome! I'll be there to play it if you decide to add it in.

Perfect match on the jam theme. Well done!

 Cool game though.
