How does your game fit the theme?
You fight waves of monsters deep in the water
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code from scratch, however the assets are all freebies from itch.io and unity asset store as art is not my strong suit

Argh! Those darn turtles! I really enjoyed playing an underwater wizard, it was a cool take on a theme! And loved how the turles just kept on coming! Good job!
Thank you!!
Cool stuff, crazy impressive for a first game! The game was pretty good for a bit until I found the strategy of going to one side waiting until the wave ends and going back to collect all the coins after the waves end and even after I tried to play it a bit more risky it still got a bit repetitive. One of the main reasons is that there wasn't enough variety of enemies but I get that its hard to do a lot of content in jams. One thing that I found a bit annoying was the foreground elements got in the way seeing the enemies so it could've been good to have them be a bit transparent. For the art, the game world looked really good. But I think its really important to have consistency even if it looks worse so it was a bit jarring to have some of the upgrades at high res and some pixel art. But overall this game was really impressive, good job!
you make some good points, thank you so much for your constructive and kind feedback!
Nice game and graphics. A bit difficult to control, but the atmosphere and dynamic music are great)
thank you and thanks for playing my game!
HELP! They are coming for meeee!!!!
Very fun and challenging game, felt so counter-intuitive to shoot sea turtles but hey, they started it :') Cool upgrade system, it lags a bit when choosing a new buff but otherwise this was a cool game :D
Also! If you like these kind of fighting waves games, then would love if you checked out our game :D you certainly did a better job at enemy variety though, congrats!
will definitely check your game once I get back from vacation!
I'm not playing this kind of games much so I'd love to see and learn more about them!
ye! they starteddd
the upgrades "lag" is on purpose, I changed the timescale so the player has time to prepare himself after choosing an upgrade, do you think it's unnecessary?
I'm not sure if it's unnecessary but what I can say is that it feels like an unintended effect - it very much feels like something is wrong / it's a lag, so maybe it can be shown in a different way, for example, time stops for 3 seconds and a clock in the middle counts down? Something that makes it clearer that it's on purpose. Have a good holiday! :D
that makes sense! will make sure to do that, thank you!
A pretty good game! You should probably balance it more tho, by decreasing the player's health at the lower wave (cus it's almost impossible to die because you keep leveling up and regaining max health :3)
balancing comes without a question, will definitely do so :)
thanks for the feedback!
This game was quite fun for the first few minutes and the art is fantastic, but some issues are present.
Some of the abilities are too fast and are hard to see, and have any real effect.
The Water Blades seemed far more effective than the other abilities.
The key bindings are not the most ergonomic, perhaps allowing Mouse Input or Spacebar would be more suited. Because of its key, I found I barely used the blink ability.
After the first 2 or so minutes, the game starts to flatten out, and I was able to just stand still with no input to pass many waves, occasionally picking up loot.
The upgrades a probably a little over-priced for a jam entry, there's no way I was going to unlock any without significant time investment.
The art and audio fit into the game perfectly, and the variation of music helps as well. Great use of parallax to create depth.
Overall great entry!
Thank you so much for your feedback, I agree with everything you say and thank you for playing my game.
this was a great learning experience for me and I'm positive I can improve it on the next game jam or games I may make, thank you again :D
Nice game, I arrive to wave 11.. it would be great to shot faster...
thanks for playing my game!
Felt bad for killing all the sea creatures but they just kept coming after me. Cool game.
they kidnapped your family and they're hiding them at the bottom of the sea!
Great game, graphics are good, sounds and music are good, I especially love how the music changes every 4 or so waves. and its nice that this game has a lot of replayability. overall a pretty fun game!
The only negative thing I found was that in my onpinion, you regain health to easily, especially in the beginning of the game which makes the game way to easy. But it was still a lot of fun to play, and a really good first game. you should be proud!
Great game, Keep it up♥
Thank you very much ♥
I agree, the game is way too unbalanced due to the lack of time to playtest and there are still many things that need to be changed :)
I Like it:)
glad you liked it :D
Pretty fun game, it's cool that you were able to fit in RPG elements like leveling up and equipment! The controls felt pretty good, and the art and music looked and sounded nice. I saw in the description that there was a shop, but I couldn't find it or figure out how to access it; but I feel like I didn't need it as the equipment I picked up as well as the level up powers were pretty strong. One suggestion is to make the game a bit harder, maybe by lowering the amount of health you regenerate. It felt a bit too easy to shoot a bunch of fish, then when you're getting surrounded, just run away and your health regenerates almost instantly.
Overall, great job on this, it plays really nicely and was quite fun!
i'm a big rpg fan so thats where it comes from haha, I was thinking about adding stats as well that you can add when leveling up but ended up not doing that because there was not enough time to balance it all (as the game is already very unbalanced)
the shop is in the main menu (outside the game right before you click 'play')
yes i agree it needs a lot of tweaks here and there to make it a real challenging game that can be fun for more than 5 minutes :)
thanks a lot for your valuable feedback!
Nice job on this, I think the abilities are very cool and the art is solid. I feel like the overall game should maybe be zoomed in a bit, because the enemies and player seem somewhat small, but this might just be because I'm playing on a kinda small screen. Great job in general though, I enjoyed it!
tysm, i didn't make the art so i can't take credit for it, but yes I agree it is really good and whoever made it did a really good job
perhaps i should give an option to zoom in, thank you for the feedback!
Great game, nothing revolutianry but a great representative of it's genre. Although sideways view in place of topdown is a nice new touch.
Thank you for the kind feedback!
For a first game this is amazing. Even when the assets are not made by you. There are so much features and so much done right, that it really feels like a complete game. Sure, the balancing is a bit slow and at times I was just sitting around waiting for more enemies. And the standard attack is a pain to target anything with. But besides that the upgrades were cool and it felt satisfying to kill of those mobs
omg thank you so much! i worked really hard making the features work so its nice hearing that someone appreciates it thank you
Nice take on VS, I liked the floating soul weapons. When I picked the octopus soul a second time I couldn't tell if anything changed, I was hoping to see more souls added.
Right now they just scale the damage, with upgrades for specific levels (if you upgrade jellyfish and octopus souls 10 times i.e: 1 jellyfish, 9 octopus you get an upgrade)
but perhaps I should make the upgrades more visual instead of just upgrading their damage like increasing their size, range or adding more like you said, I agree it would be more fun :)
thank you for the valuable feedback!
I like the design and it makes fun but after some minutes it comes boring.
haha i agree, i still got long ways to go before i can make a fun polished game, thanks for the feedback!
Great game. Awesome idea. But it is too easy. The enemies should deal more damage.
Thank you for your warm feedback!
I'm pretty sure there's a whole lot of balancing that needs to be done, I've been thinking of making enemies spawn all the time (instead of in waves), and it will be followed by tweaking the enemies and player's stats (equipment too)
after getting those shields which rotates around the player it was a lot of fun. I have not use the shoot mechanics as it was hard to aim . But that shields were enough. I like the Idea of how player getting different upgrades in each waves. and at wave 4 the sound automatically changed I was really good. although the game needs little balancing. as mentioned by others..
thank you for your feedback!
after the all the feedback from you all I've come with a solution to the shoot mechanic, probably use different keys to walk and aim (that way you could shoot back while running), also make it auto shoot and auto aim with an option to toggle it off in settings
Cool idea! At a certain point, I decided I would let myself be killed to see the game over screen, and I couldn't do it! I wouldn't touch anything and enough fish would automatically die quick enough that I would level up and be back to full health. Literally could not lose lol
haha im aware, it definitely needs some balancing!
thanks for the feedback ^^
Nice lil game, but is it me or there was no sound at all? maybe adding a bit more feedback for the player would be cool ( sound effect / visual effect ) to know when we get hits or not and so on. Otherwise well done.
There is sound, are you sure its turned on on your end?
and yeah, definitely can add more visuals / sounds maybe as well as giving him a bit of invincibility for when he gets hit
