Excellent game design! I could see within 5 minutes of how to "get ahead" of the game to get enough soldiers to protect the village. That's a hard thing to tune, but you pulled it off.

The art is beautiful, the idea simple but well polished, in general good game, but this star system confuses me. I forged a 2-star sword and after polishing it ended up 3 stars. Also, enemies on second wave are too difficult. I think it would be better if difficulty would grow slower.

The stars are the pontuations of each minigame!
In this case, your soldier would have 2 HP and deal 3 points of damage. I wonder what would be a better way to pass this information for the player.
Okay, it would be definitely clearer if you would use armor/heart like icon for one mini-game, and sword for the other in addition to stars, or numbers, or something like that, but overall it was fun to play

Gives a odd, yet sweet feeling churning those swords out.
Tried Making a similar game a couple of jams ago. Im Surprised on how well you were able to pull the concept off. overall 9/10, the only thing id change is there is some input delay which is annoying
