How does your game fit the theme?
The game plays in two phases.
The first phase (calm part of the game) consists of normal relaxing classic chrome dino game.
The Second phase (storm part of the game) pulls a twist on it by making it a difficult shooter-runner where its a horde of birds to kill using the score you earned in first phase as bullets.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all code from scratch but the assets used are from the chrome dino game (Google)

i think the dinosaur guy is a bit too far to the left side, and the gameplay was pretty good overall but half of that is because the movement and most of the art is basically cloned from the original Dino game. not bad tho, nice work

For my taste the dino is too close left size, and you forgot to add crouching when down arrow is cliked, but overall very fun and solid game! I really like your game. Good job! ;D

Giving a dinosaur fire arms is the most awesome and terrifying thing. There was a storm and it was calm before that, so wall checks out. Overall a fun little experience!

I tried the android version. It took me a while to get used to it. Because I know the original very well and this one responds just a little differently to taps on the screen. It is a very refreshing take on the theme. Good job.

very clever twist on the original game!

captured the theme beautifully in my opinion

Top marks for innovation!

clever idea and simple good execution!

one point of feedback is that the "hold to shoot big" mechanic didn't feel really useful, its just simpler to click on the birds. so i would try to innovate in another aspect, maybe the obstacles ("holes" and "hills" come to mind).

also +1 to adding ducking as others have said.

great job, i really enjoyed, gg!

Really fun and VERY ADDICTIVE. Nice spin of the original, would love to see new stages or something, great job!

fun twist of the original dino game! You could consider making the transition from the first half to the second 'storm' half more clear since the "game over" replay button screen makes it seem like the whole game is starting over, rather than leading into the next portion. I liked the music and this was really fun to play overall!

Really fun and intuitive game. Dying the first time and then doing it all again except this time, there are enemies you have to dodge. The multitasking was fun and enjoyable. Great submission man.

Fun fact, you can actually duck and use the duck to fast-fall in the original google dino game, got to 5800, neat idea

Interesting idea! took it from one of the best games in the GMTK 2024 game jam? :D

Nice idea for a remake! i enjoyed it and reached around 4000 score

Some thing you may consider in the future:

  1. Progression: i think at around 2600 in the first part it is too fast to play, i don't think anyone could get more than 3k ever.
  2. Namings: it was wierd playing the second part after "game over". also lossing "bullets" when getting hit.
  3. Design: having the dino be a little more to the right and not on the edge will make it feel a lot better.
  4. In game music: maybe add something ambient
  5. controls: may want to add ducking and on jumping have it small jump with tapping and higher jump with holding the key.

It was really nice however and GJ!

Good remake!

It's a good game, it's delayed, the music in the background is cool, at the moment when you need to shoot at pterodactyls it would be cool if the dinosaur had a machine gun or a rifle, good job!

I like the core concept of the game, and think you did a great job remaking the classic dino game. I would have liked to see a bit more innovation, and maybe a little bit more spice. I think you incorporated the theme of the jam nicely, and it was a good experience. Good job!

I perfectly synced the jumps with the beats once and that was a gamer moment for me sure.. nevertheless this is one of most innovative ways I've seen the dino game be rebuilt.. kudos!
