Astounding graphics and good idea with walljumping, but the controls felt too janky. I'd frequently miss where I'm aiming.

How does your game fit the theme?
The player will calmly explore the world and then the Storm will spawn and chase the player in a frenetic escape sequence
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all the code, made our own music&sounds and made the animations. We used an asset pack just for the graphics and UI

This game is surprisingly well polished for a game made in less than 7 days, I only got some difficulty jumping in walls, I'd fall too often, but overall is a good game, good job! :v
This is one of the most polished entries I've seen this jam, and it's really great to see more Unreal games! Graphic options are a nice bit of polish. I loved the squash and stretch on the text boxes and the tutorials in game are fantastic. When I finished the first level I was ready to put the game down and write a positive review.
I didn't expect the second level.
I definitely didn't expect the third level.
This feels like a well polished, well play tested MVP with an appropriate difficulty curve. In level 2 I looked back and noticed the souls on top of the buildings I already passed and got sad I missed them, but was pleasantly surprised when the route back from the storm naturally lead me to collect them. I think for most jam submissions I would suggest slowing the storm down a tiny bit to make the game a little easier, but I feel like the difficulty curve is good enough that this speed is appropriate. You've taught the mechanics well enough that speed running the level backwards feels great.
I think the only piece of feedback from me would be I'd consider putting in jump input buffering. You've already got coyote time, so I think you're just input buffering away from having a great and responsive feeling parkour game.
Outstanding job!
Pretty cool game. Except for the two things: I just can't make the last jump(unless it's just skill issue from my part) and the storm can be easily avoided by not activating it lol.
Hope you'll also rate mine :) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973690
This was a fun game. Although I made some mistakes, I still enjoyed it. I believe the game offered a fair challenge
This was a very fun parkour game, very forgiving with the climbing mechanics, too! I messed up often, particularly when collecting the purple orbs. Escaping the storm was really hard though, could use some more leeway there.
It's a nice looking game and I appreciate that there was some forgiveness with the wall grabbing mechanic. I'm not the best at first person platforming, but I was able to get up to the top and then head back down during the storm. I think the mechanics like the sliding and the multi jumps were nice, but might need a bit of tweaking, as it was quite sensitive for the movement. I couldn't figure out what to do at the end once I collected enough souls. I thought I might have to go back to the start area based on the path, but nothing happened there. Was there something I missed?
The graphics are *unreal*(get it ;D) and optimization is so good. The movement is so smooth and the wall running is soo good really enjoyed.
Encountered 2 bugs with movement
1. In the first level, after falling off the level a few times, it seemed like there was no friction in movement made it so difficult.
2. In the third level after falling off a few times, only jump seemed to work WASD was not working.
Apart from these the game was soo good and simple and mainly very fun to play. I will repeat, genuinely impressed with the visual design. Some music would have really elevated the feeling.
Kudos!!
Loved the character controller for this. The wall jump reminded me of a first-person version of the wall hang from Warframe. Super fun to just double jump around parkour off obstacles. The soul placement throughout the levels was really good. The amount of optional routes and small hidden areas you can jump to is insanely motivating, and its incredible y'all were able to make so many in such a short time.
Love the airy feel of the atmosphere. The music and sounds are awesome and the animations look great. Nice job on the game!
Finished the game, man that last level was a real ride. Thoroughly enjoy it, could use a couple tweaks here and there just to make the controlling feel good and some better way of telling how far the storm is rather than turning around? Idk maybe that's part of the charm, enjoyed this one!
This is the only game I played twice now lol
that was a fun one. I loved the climb which was like an upward wall jump. that was a pretty fun mechanic that I haven’t seen done that way. and collecting things is fun. great game
Great game! The controls felt crazy some times but the look and atmosphere of the game is amazing, great job :)
Really fun 3d platformer, movement feels great and I liked a lot the climbing mechanic, though sometimes it was a bit difficult to land on platforms after performing this ability. Visuals are great too! Good job :)
Feedback:
If the storm kills you on your way down, then never respawns again (or at least that's what happened on my case)
This was so much fun omg, why did I not see this earlier.
I think you can expand this with some extra speed, using slides and stuff to go fast and also do something like Neon White where you have multiple options to go for a single level, I think you kinda did that idea already.
I would pay for a full game no kidding
damn, the game is so fun and i really liked the game mechanics good job :D!!
Well made platformer. Performance is slow because UE. But on low settings it was playable. Character movement is quite good, no issues. Game design follows all generic FPV platfomer parts without adding anything new. Game and level design are well done, it is easy to understand where to go and what to do, not too easy, so there is no boredom in exploration.
Really like the art in the game, but the movement (especially the slides and the climbing) felt quite buggy. Otherwise the game seems really promising. For me the difficulty was quite high (but thats probably a skill issue on my part hehe)
Great looking game. Nice variety in game mechanics. Was really fun to play. Fits the theme nicely.
