Some more ui would have been nice, i didnt rly know what i was collecting coal for originally either

I took over the entire map and found these issues:

  • Putting multiple mines on a single deposit oddly enough seemed to reduce output rather than increase it
  • Ducks would despawn when the round's time limit ended, but that just meant you had to defend much less than the amount you should
  • The ducks are a bit small and slow, they just look like little blobs
  • The environment is quite plain. I can see from the cover art that you were originally intending to add forested areas - I wonder what happened to them.
  • Game didn't do much to stop me from panning the camera extremely far from where anything important happened
  • Everything felt a bit slow, and after a while noticed some lag trickle in during wave
  • No upgrades and past the first few waves difficulty was very hard first couple waves then was too easy the rest

Meanwhile I liked these things:

  • The idea of completely customizable base creation is always a certain path to a good game
  • Building mines your own way was fun
  • Nothing was present to limit my creativity
  • Having the strategies be born of emergence adds depth to shallow mechanics and helps the game be less stale
  • Graphics were pretty nice, the style is very well defined

Overall, a very solid foundation, but the house you built on top was made of cardboard and mud.

I love the ducks and the villages are really fun to place. Like others have said, some audio would've enhanced the overall experience, but still a great submission. Nice work!

The building mechanic is very nice, really liked the idea you really are the king duck my man keep it up!

Great building mechanics and theme, but the map feels too big, and the fight phase needs more engagement. Adding sound and larger ducks would enhance the experience.

Build a defend from the ducks

1. The building mechanic is great, I like drawing the road lines, finding minerals, building mines and defending with towers, the gameplay loop is cool in the build phase. I mgiht want to see the map size reduced, the game is SPRAWLING, its fun to build a big duck empire but the gameplay gets lost in the sauce

2. One tower seems to be enough to take on ducks, and the ducks are TINY. I'd like tosee some different defense structures and maybe one or two GIANT ducks, thatd be funny

3. great theming, calm build vs fight phase, I want the fight phase to be as invovled as the build phase

4. I need some menacing duck quacks, no sound in this game

l5. lots of fun, I got stuck in a trance for like 15 minutes building and expanding while listening to a po cast

Very cool tower defense. I like how different villages have different upgrade paths depending on where their built. My main gripe is that there's no indication on where the enemies will come from next. It makes the game, especially the early game feel very unfair. Also... sound? Apart from that, cool concept and pretty good execution. Good job!

Nice project, although i am not sure about the money - it stops after a couple of rounds - not sure why, but it is probably something easy to fix :)

Love a game jam tower defense game. Solid submission overall. I did have a little trouble not having any indication where the enemies might come from, and then the fact that they went super fast, made it sort of difficult to plan my first time playing.

The art is so nice!  I love the look of the game.  Putting different towers down and the cost of their distance and supply lines.  All of that is very neat and fun.  Don't see how it really fits the theme all that much, and wish there was sound (like quacking)- I enjoyed it!
