How does the game fit the theme?
You can not make one wrong move or else it will not let you continue, therefore nothing can go wrong during this science experiment

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We made all the assets, I did the code, my two friends worked on the art.

How many people worked on the game?

I like the limited button presses! Really nice controls too. Like what was said by others though id indeed like to see the maximum moves i have

A classic puzzle platformer, I like that you managed to create more levels by reusing them in the second half.

The counter was a little confusing, and I'd prefer seeing the number of moves without hovering over another UI element.

Great concept, love the idea and easy to understand :)

Summary: I was happy to beat this. I liked the fresh take of redoing the levels with a new twist. The mechanic felt very nice once I started midway and undertood the countdown.

What I want to see improve:

  • Removing the final count down instead of this have each level already have a set fixed amount like you display.
    • The final countdown felt confusing as well as unnecessary because you could not continue the level if you did not meet the sub-benchmark for each.
    • Alternatively you could have it where there is not requirement for each level to pass but then keep the countdown and stop all movement when reaching zero. (Maybe provide some future map view so players can see ahead of time.)
  • Those collision box clippings ruined some of my level runs once I got into the flow. I was floating on nothing near the edges.

What I want to see:

  • Improvement of art sprites. This game mechanically  is really well done.
  • I think after you beat the game introduce a new character with a new mechanic that is harder and more of a challenge.
  • Or Add a timer speedrun style option.
  • Another mechanic ive seen is taking over bodies with souls (Ie Pirate software jam game themes you are the weapon) You could play as the soul and do the same thing but reversed.

Im glad you enjoyed it! I would improve on some things but ofc i cant anymore and the idea of letting players do as many moves as possible was originally in the game but i felt it was too harsh to allow player to mess up early and they only find out way later and it just go frustrating

I absolutely loved the gameplay, hands down the most enjoyable game yet. If it were to be made a full game, I'd definitely play it. The game mechanic is challenging yet very gratifying when you get it right. Well done!

Tysmm it means a lot!!

Best game inspired by the plot of an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

Developer

Thanks! Im gglad you enjoyed playing!

i enjoyed this very much, the l first level teach you some tactics that you need to use in order to progress. I liked that it is not too easy but still fair. good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks I put a lot of thought into level design (it was quite hard and why I got so little)

Great puzzle platformer, the mechanic of limited moves was interesting and going back to do levels in fewer moves was awesome, great stuff!

Developer

Thank you sm, Ive had this idea for a while!

Overall a solid execution of the theme and a good idea, Last level was a bit too difficult, have to make such a precise jump. The lasers must be excessively hot, get within two feet of them and you game over! (The collisions on the lasers sometimes felt borderline unfair)

Developer

Im sorry you found it like that, I was thinking of changing hit box but i only had tested game with a square collider and I didnt want to break game, ty for review tho :

Very original gameplay mechanics, I don't think I've seen button presses as a resource somewhere before - that's a neat spin on the time travel idea.
I think it's a very cleverly done puzzle platformer. Later stages border on precision-platformer difficulty though. Liked this game a lot.

Im glad you found it fun, Ive had an idea simmilar to this for like 3 years now bc of a friend of mine and ive finally had a chance to make it so im v happy

This incorporates the theme perfectly! Good puzzles

Developer

Tyy im glad you liked the puzzles, i showed a friend and they died 144 times on 1 level

Submitted

LOL the dying loop is really nice. No lag definitely contributed to my death count too

Developer

wait as in you did die to lag?

Submitted(+1)

oh nono it was so seamless that I get to spam several attempts at the trickier puzzles. smashing restart to get the perfect start was nice

Developer(+1)

Oh right ty for clarifying i thought it could've been laggy due to post processing or sm bc it was way smoother in editor ig mabye not anymore i honeslty dont know

This is fun - took a few goes for the fiddlier puzzles! Nice work.

Developer

Im so glad you liked it! I would've tried making more levels but had a complete block :(

I really enjoyed it. Took a minute to figure out the moves counter and how it clocked each input but once I got that it was plain sailing. Really good puzzles with a great loop mechanic. Well done, really solid submission.
