There is a catch: about reviewing with Honest Feedback!

Hello lovely people! 👋

I noticed how supportive everybody is, which is super amazingoooo! Though, I am looking for some honest feedback. As everybody is doing right now, I am looking for some reviews on my game, and I would be more than happy to do the same to others!

This is my game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3330578

It is my first time publishing something and having strangers playing it. I started learning video game development on my spare time, more than 2 years ago. I made some small games for myself, my friends and even worked together with my partner (he is also a software engineer) Though I still have plenty to learn!

I am not just looking for a “Kudos” comment or a quick review, but for some deeper feedback (and ofc, some reviews to get even more feedback). Doing this in just 1 week was fun, but I did not manage to get enough play test, but the little I had was useful… but not useful as people that actually made a game (That’s you reading!) and could give me even better feedback! I just discovered that my game loop might take a little too long! So far my friends completed the game in around 824 seconds, the longest took 1222 seconds, where my personal best is 636 seconds.

Anyway… Here is the catch from a normal “Let’s review each other game”: if I get some comments/feedback (and hopefully a review <3 ), I will review yours for sure! :-) I am not a game designer or an expert, so my comments might not be the most useful. No need to spam the links here as they will appear under the comments anyway (if you do, I’ll also check it out 🙃 )

When I say that, I really mean it: I WILL review them. I am bored, I have nothing to do next week, and the reason is that I messed up the week numbers on the calendar. I reserved week 9 instead of week 8 😅 and I thought I would be working on the jam alone at home as my partner is busy LARPing somewhere in Spain… but then it was last week 🤦‍♂️ Long story short: I have plenty of free time ahead and a lot of will to improve, and I am super curious to see what other people came up with! \o/

Who is up for it? :)

Rig the Reels is a game where you have to rig a slot machine in your favor via playing minigames in order to pay your taxes.

I feel the same way, so many generic "GREAT DESIGN / NICE VISUALS / I LIKE THIS". Nah, I want feedback to make my future projects better.

I have rated the game and imparted the best advice I could think of.

If you can find the time, maybe you would enjoy playing and rating my short but difficult 10 level puzzle game: Doomed Forklift

I hear what you mean about honest feedback. We all have our own goals when joining this game jam and for most, it's to improve our skills in game design and development. Thus, honest feedback is crucial.

Although, as the feedback giver, I do find myself having a hard time "brutally" giving honest feedback. There are games I enjoy and don't, but I want to provide a feedback that isn't selfish. That's why I write my comments in a way that doesn't discourage the creator and focus more on the fun parts and improvements.

Anyway, I gave you feedback :D It was funny seeing the yaks drop so I spent my time just interacting with them XD

Here's my entry for the game jam:

Any feedback is appreciated :)

I have a long list of bugs I know of and my partner and I are playing a game to see how many will comment about it :P

I was definitely excited to try another 3D browser game!  I left feedback on your submission page, rated your game.  Quirky and enjoyable, but if you could only fix one thing, it's the camera rotation.  Please check out our 3D browser game: https://feralbytes.itch.io/brackeys-2025-1
