Very well done! I liked it a lot. It was a very interesting idea. And a nice story, too.

The collisions were a bit unforgiving. The puzzles were good, I loved them all. I found it weird that you would go back to puzzles with the mummy chasing you and you having to bring their bones to the past after introducing all the other mechanics. That puzzle came a bit out of nowhere. However, still a great game.

I loved the puzzle with the 3 items that you had to be careful not to leave together in certain combinations... but it had too much text! The two signs were basically equivalent. You could easily just keep the left one and the puzzle would be basically the same.

Overall it's a good game. Nice job!

And congratulations on your 20th rating!

thanks a lot for the review! You're right about the amount of text though. At first there werent that much signs, but my friends who tested out the puzzles for me were really needing some extra tips haha

Im playing your game next, thanks :D

I really enjoyed the puzzles, but it was a bit frustrating at times to press Q and SPACE

I'm writing my thoughts as I play.

  • First off - a wall of text is not a very good way to do a tutorial, since usually I will forget things by the time I need them. Consider introducing smaller walls of text into each level as you introduce mechanics, at least.
  • I love the story :D
  • The tutorial text cannot be exited without going in full screen, maybe look into canvas screen scaling.
  • I didn't realize that the pressure plate opened the door on the first level, I thought it was a box that I could pick up :/
  • The second level had me stumped for a bit, but the hint saved me
  • I really liked the plant insect and water level! It was really fun.
  • It was really cool to come back to the future and see the whole forest!
  • I got stuck on the forest level. I found out you can pick up the fire, but it's not facing the right way to burn a hole to the exit.

Great game! The art was a little lacking since it looked like blurry pixel art, but it worked well enough. The game was really fun, too. Solid entry!

Developer

Thanks man, for playing my game and for the review. To pass the forest part, since you cant change the direction of the fire, you have to bring it to past, where the forest wasnt there yet and place it by the door, so when you go back to future, it will still be there and burn the bushes so you can pass.

In case you wanna give it another go, there's a walkthroug you can download in the game's page.

Thank you once again, I really struggle with UI on unity, so I do apreciate any tips I receive haha :D

The puzzles are actually pretty good - your game is among the few that uses the 'time rewind to past timelines' kind of game but I enjoy your rendition of this because for some of the puzzles you integrate the time element quite well! For example, when the plant was left with the water, when you return to present time - the small plant became an entire forest!

One of the most significant gripe I have the significantly detracts from my experience are the controls:

Q and Spacebar, do not always work 100% as intended. It can become a bit cumbersome when trying to pick up items but having to adjust the character ever so slightly, all the time just to pick up stuff.

This was a fun neat project and a very clever way of integrating time narratively into your puzzles. Very simple puzzle game - very nice!

Developer

Thank you man! I dont know why Q and Spacebar inputs are not working properly though. I took sometime to look at it, but just cant find what is causing it. Anyway, thanks for the review, you're awesome! :D

The puzzles in this game are so good!  Reminded me a lot of Undertale for some reason.  This game could've benefited from simple desert/temple music, and a cleaner UI.  Some of the puzzles are really clever I think.  Also you should've added an easter egg when someone types DIO instead of the correct name at the end.  Some particles definitely would've added to the experience too, such as walking, falling sand, death and time travel particles.  This game is pretty fun and has a lot of humor, but there are a lot of typos, but that's nitpicking.

Developer

Thanks man! Im really happy you played untill the end. I was going to create a different message for when somebody typed DIO but I completely forgot haha. Huge thanks bro

Sometimes "Q" was getting laggy and buggy. Also simple sounds would have added a lot to the feeling. Keep doing good job!

Developer

Yeah, I was trying to fix that but I dont really know what is going on. Anyway, thanks for playing my game, Im heckiing out yours right now.
