In what way does your game fit the theme?
The game is currently "broken" and "glitched" so the player needs to fix or "rewind" it back to its original state.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I mostly wrote all the code myself, but I did watch a few tutorials for things I didn't know how to do like the First Person Controller and the dialogue system. I made most of the assets, but I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to use the assets I used but didn't make.

I like the story of this game, it was really engaging. I had some trouble placing the cakes in the webgl build, but I've seen comments saying that the issue is only in the browser version and i completely understand how unstable WebGL can sometimes get. Overall I think you really did a great job, I loved this game and it is one of my favorite entries to the jam.

Developer

I'm glad to hear it was one of your favorites!

I really liked the idea, it's original and interesting. Though the sensitivity was high for me, I managed to reduce it so it didn't make me have any less fun with the game. Overall great game

Developer

Thanks for the review! How did you manage to reduce the sensitivity? I didn't add a slider due to time constraints lol

Submitted(+1)

My mouse has a few different sensitivity modes, I normally use the third option out of the four available. So I just switched to a less sensitive  option and it was fine.

Liked the game (couldn't help but notice you saying the game was bad all the time don't do that I like the game)

Developer

Haha I don't mean it, its for satire mostly, but maybe I went too far!

Good game! I think checkpoints and some audio would have been nice. Also being able to change the mouse sensitivity, as I felt dizzy after a while.

But apart from that, the idea is cool and the game is fun to play. Well done and keep it up!

Also I would really appreciate if you could check out my game and leave a rating, thanks :)

Developer

Thanks for the comment!  I'll check out your game!

Hey there, interesting game, I really liked your take on the theme, maybe some music wouldn't hurt, also checkpoints would be helpful, as you sometimes don't want to continue playing after falling down and having to start all over. But overall, you had an interesting idea and it worked pretty well, I encountered no bugs, so nice game.

Developer

Yeah music and checkpoints are definitely one of the things that need working on. Thanks for checking out my game!

Heyo!

I appreciate the dialogue and the graphics, good work there! I really appreciate that the player casts a shadow below them.

I've found interacting with things can be finnicky at times, maybe the range is a bit too short?

Only major problem is that there's no audio, that aside i think it's a solid entry, especially considering you were alone and it was your first jam!

Developer

Ah thanks for checking out my game!  Audio is definitely one of the things I want to look more into for future projects, as it's the most noticeable thing missing as you said, even if it's a big subject (music, sfx, etc).  I definitely want to compose and make my own sounds though, so maybe it'll be awhile before I can introduce nice sounding music/sfx.  Glad to hear the dialogue and graphics were enjoyable, even if they could use some work.  Other people have had problems with the interacting as well, so I'll look more into it!

For SFX you can check out https://www.bfxr.net/.
It produces old school blips and bloops with ease, helps a lot!
There are a few alternatives but i'm not familiar with them, glhf! :)

Developer

Thanks!

Good writing in this one. I only wish the menus in the beginning weren't just buttons with text. Good job!

Could you please play and rate my game as well?

When I saw the characters I thought I was in Minecraft xD. But in general the game is good, I love the dialogues of the NPCs.

In my opinion you should put some lights and particle effects to liven up the levels a bit.
I don't know if this is normal but in the last level I went into the xD field.
To conclude it was a good game and I hope to see your next games

Developer

Good to hear you enjoyed the game and the dialogue!  Also you're right about the levels, they could definitely be made more lively by adding lights, particles, etc.  Also, I used to play a lot of Minecraft so that might be why the characters looked similar!

I get the sense that the story/atmosphere is the main focus of the game, but I think the gameplay could be improved. In the second level, for example, if there was more variety in the landscape, it would be easier to traverse and find where you need to go next.

Developer

Ah thanks for the feedback!  I was going for a hazy feel but it could definitely could use more variety.  You're right about the gameplay though, it was mostly an afterthought, but I really should've made it more interesting!

Submitted(+1)

I think the fog is a great addition for that hazy feeling you're going for;  So, if you change anything, keep that.

Yo’ Templar here,
Platforming is good and the environment fits the “story” well, the movement feels awkward tho, like the camera sensitivity is too high.

Developer

Thanks for the comment!  I'm aware of the weird camera, so I'll be aware of it in the future!  Good to hear you liked the platforming!

Submitted(+1)

Platforms it's great and the "broked" aliens looks great. The comments, explanations, talkings... too much for me.

Developer

Oh was there too much dialogue?

Submitted(+1)

Great platforming!

Hey, I couldnt place the cakes in those pillars in the third level, I think it isnt working... Anyway, cool parkour game, I just think the sensitivity of the mouse is too big.

Developer

I think you need to left click slightly above the pillars for it to register for some reason.  Also I would update the game for the jam if I could!

Submitted(+1)

weird looking game, i like the glitchy materials. fun parkour style with story. mouse sensitivity was too high for me.

good job!

Cool idea, I like the story and the graphics seem kind of cool! Although the sensitivity did feel incredibly high to me and I'm not sure  having the "no texture" have collision on the first jump and then it's taken away on the second is the best user experience wise... Either way still a cool idea :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your review, and yeah I should've been more consistent with the collision.  I haven't experienced the sensitivity being that high unless I accidentally made it dependent on the frames per second :0 ...

Submitted

If you're running on unity maybe times the sensitivity by Time.deltatime so that it's consistent no matter the fps? I know my computer is moderately good gtx 970 etc so my fps was probably quite high? :)

Developer(+1)

Lol yeah, I didn't add Time.deltaTime to the camera, thanks for the heads up, I didn't know that it was a problem!  I guess my computer sucks :D

Submitted(+1)

No problem :) I never do it on my stuff either 😂

I like the idea and the map and the feel of the game. I was annoyingly fell off too many times :D but maybe its me unable to control the movement :)
