In what way does your game fit the theme?
When you die, the game rewinds 2 seconds and you have a chance to save yourself by killing the enemy that killed you.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I wrote all the code (using p5.js for animation) and the music (with Bosca Ceoil). Got the sound effects from sfxr.

Very fun game, nice take on the theme too. Well done!
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I've been told this game is pretty tough haha, I'm glad you still enjoyed it :D
Great game! Smooth controls and awesome concept with the ghost player. The design seems to be pretty well balanced! Well done.
Wow hey, so much to love in this game! I'm surprised why it's not on the higher rated games yet! I want to go through some points:
1) The controls - simple and PRECISE. In very bullet-hell esque games, the kind where it gets quite intense, your controls really do you justice. The feeling of being able to move exactly how you want, evade projectiles etc. feels good. I will give credit to your good sound design in shooting, destroying enemies for having it feel tight and precise. Kudos for your amazing sound design!
2) A lot of good responsive feedback - you must be quite an experienced game dev, or have picked up good skills - as mentioned earlier, you did your game justice with a lot of sound design - something I am learning myself. I should be more specific in my wording of sound design - choosing sounds and implement them so that players know what happens all the time - ie. enemy dies from an explosion etc. Very good - commendable effort! Makes me enjoy it so much more.
3) Good art direction - With the little time, it's obvious that it will be difficult to source ratings and etc - but you made do with what time you have, and created a generally pleasant and cohesive experience! It was a pleasant to watch, and play from start to finish.
4) The switch between normal time and rewinded time is very smooth - I like it. The small invulnerability around the player helps smoothen that transition as well. Good game design!
Some pointers that I think you would want to consider:
1) In some FPS games, they show the 'reload circle' near the pointer to tell the player exactly when their reload finishes - consider implementing that but for your time mechanic. Instead of putting the clock to the side, you should put it exactly where the pointer is to easily tell the player without having him look far to the left. This becomes very important for high level play!
2) Small minor gripes with the control - as its a browser game, when you 'press space' to restart level, it also just scroll wheels to the bottom of the window, so I had to return to main menu to properly change difficulty or restart levels.
3) Consider adding a small grace period before starting levels - when starting on impossible, enemies spawn immediately which can throw players off.
There are more I'd say but I think that's encroaching subjective territory. If you'd notice, the only cons I have are only minor polish things I hoped you implement - which is great. The game as a whole feels good and nice to play. Lots to love and if you'd revisit this, implement more art, music, sound, levels and enemies - you could make a nice short game on mobile in the long run.
Love this! Cheerios.
Wow this feedback is so helpful, thank you!
To respond to your pointers:
1) This is a great idea, you're right about the clock - I rarely have enough time to look to the left due to the fast paced gameplay. Putting it next to the cursor would help a lot.
2) I hadn't considered this, thanks for letting me know. I should change that to pressing any button or clicking with the mouse.
3) This is a good point too, sometimes I do end up dying before I've even started to move haha. A grace period of a second or two would help.
Thanks again for the great feedback, I really appreciate it :D
This game is great, one of the best concepts I've seen yet and very well executed. I think the combo meter might drain a little too quickly but other than that I don't have any complaints.
Thanks for playing and rating! I agree and if I update the game after the jam I will probably increase the combo time, maybe to 2 seconds.
Awesome it is very fun and the idea is soo good. Good job
Great game, really good execution of the theming. One of the best games all around.
Really interesting idea, it looks simple but it's pretty fun to play. It could definitely use a little more "juice" to make the kills feel more satisfying, and I think the combo meter goes away a little too fast to make it worth paying attention to. Nonetheless, I still had a good time playing this. Well done!
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I could probably add some camera shake or other effects to make kills feel more impactful. I am considering changing the combo meter drain time to 2 seconds because I do agree that I never really look at it until I see my max combo at the end of the game.
Thanks again for the feedback :D
I really like this game. Though the graphics are simple, the mechanic is really well-explained and clever. Nice Job!
It looks pretty solid, plays well. It is clearly representing the theme, but I feel it is a bit limited. Graphic wise it is alright and the sound suits the game's flow. Nice.
Thanks for the comment! If you don't mind, could you expand on how I could improve the game, as I'd love to update it once the jam is over :D
When I have time to play it again, I will make some notes on the specific things that ....made me lose interest....Be sure, I have played plenty of games today, so perhaps I am just 'play tired'....So on the second playthrough it might seem better :D
amazing game its really fun and addicting and the second change mechanic is really astounding and unique great job :)
I could learn a thing or two from a game this gracefully simple. It’s addicting and I had to actually pull myself away from it to rate / comment.
Literally my only potential issue is that it took me a bit to realize you have to click on the difficulty to change it.
For anyone else reading this, I highly recommend playing on Impossible once or twice. It’s crazy.
Thanks for the review, it's great to hear you enjoyed the game so much!
You make a good point about the difficulty button, I will probably add a quick note in the tutorial or make it more obvious another way.
The game actually only had 4 difficulties until a few hours before I submitted, when I just thought "What if enemies just constantly spawned?" Believe it or not someone has told me they survived over a minute at Impossible difficulty! I've only gotten to about 30 seconds so far haha
This game is a lot of fun. The rewind mechanic was used in an interesting way leaving you a couple seconds to strategize how you could save yourself. each enemy has a clear distinct look that help you know what they are going to do, all in all a pretty great game.
Amazing game. I found it very fun and enjoyable. Graphics are crystal clear and that's great for a fast paced game like this. Best tutorial I've been through on this game jam. Rewind mechanic is implemented in a fun and intuitive way. Great job!
This is a great idea! It's a clever way to give a second chance, while still making it very possible to die. I'd love to see more levels of this.
Excellent game, great fun. The music is perfect to accompany and I love that the enemies become more alert if you don't kill them quickly, it was very funny
Rate my game please
Hi, i've played and rated your game, it's really good and fun to play. Well done!
Really like your idea, also graphics are simple and juicy. Feels really nice, one of the best games on jam
Interesting take on the theme! Rewinding time and remembering where the enemy that killed me came from was quite a good feeling and a great overall game mechanic in my opinion. Great effort!
Really fun to play, impossible mode is a little too hard for me haha. Good job!
