In what way does your game fit the theme?

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?

Nice done! It took me a while to really understand the game, but then it really was fun! Keep going!
Thanks, mate :) It would have been very useful to explain it in-game, definitely.
interesting game. When I figured out that your position in the room remains when going between them, that opened things up lol
Oh, now that you say that I don't really mention it anywhere in the game, not even under "Controls". Sorry about that. Glad that you found it interesting anyways :)
Its very entertaining. The music is very good. And i like the mechanics to move through the level
Thanks, glad you like it :)
Fun! Simple but with addictive gameplay. Also great audio.
if you have the time, please rate my game: https://adro05.itch.io/bodyguard-rewinder-800x
Thank you! Rated :)
I really liked the pixel theme and samurais are my weak point!
I had a little bit of difficulty with the controls in the beggining, but I had a great experience. And I liked the music, is a very funny and warmful piece!
Thanks, mate! I was not very confident in my pixel art skills so I tried to compensate them with a samurai hehe. Glad you like it!
Super good, loved playing it, sound, art and the idea of the game is great. It kind of missed the theme but still a game i really enjoyed playing!
Thanks for the kind words :) I still think the music could be better since I don't have any instruments right now around me so I had to use some google creepy webapp. And true, it misses the theme a bit (the core mechanic is not rewinding at all :/); but. well, at least you get to rewind the different cells hehe.
Cool idea, fun, and challenging, but could use more polish.
Thanks! I agree: I started yesterday to do this so, absolutely, it should be more polished for a game jam of this duration. I'll try to enhance it after the game jam (and learn a couple of things, it was my very first 2d game)!
Cool idea, fun, and challenging, but could use more polish.
Wow! A great and innovative idea! Congratulations to you for this game
Thank you for your kind words :)
Nice game!
It fits the theme rather loosely, but then again, so does mine ^^
Thanks! I have to agree with your opinion, but this was the idea I came up with hehe
Smart game prototype! Keep it up!
Thanks, mate :)
Really creative idea. Maybe after some time some rooms can change to diffrent rooms to spice things up.Otherwise cool game :)
Thanks! That's a cool feature, maybe I'll implement it. The original idea was to have three different theme areas with different enemies and movements (like an underwater area for the top and a hell area for the bottom) but I was 5 days late for the jam and ran out of motivation.
Cool original fun idea and challenging.
Thank you so much!
Nice game, quite a creative puzzle platformer game. If the theme was "teleport", it would have been great.
Glad you liked it!
Is there a way to access the bottom middle boxes top shelf (hope that makes sense)?
Yep, there are two ways:
Really cool idea! For me i whould like to see it being harder - most positions in "rooms" are reachable from just jump so teleporting with physics have no real use. Anyway well done!
Thanks for the review :). My original setup for the boxes was indeed harder, but since it was from a jam, I didn't want to scare people hehe. Also, I played with the spawn time (and bomb timer) of all three items in the game, that decreases with the score, maybe they should decrease faster.
Speed of increasing complexity was good, just slightly dissapointed that was not enough space to explore the mechanic)
Very interesting idea, it got quite hectic after a while, overall fun :)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it
