Nice mechanic!

Character is cool, leaves me wanting a few more animations! I think there could be some more clarity in your levels, such as where the buzz saws will turn/when an enemy can actually see you, but there’s a lot of good stuff in here. Nice game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The buzzsaws slowing down before stopping would've been great. Somehow I didn't have that idea until after the jam. Its such a small detail, but it adds so much more to the design.

Great! The walljump could be better, but overall it's a fun experience :D

Of course someone would take inspiration of Katana Zero !
Well. Done. Really ! It lacks a bit of music (like a lot), but even though, the game is clean ! Easy mecanics, levels are great...well done !

Developer

Haha! I played their soundtrack on repeat while working on the game. Its been a month since I've played it but I'm still riding that high!

Love the animations and character design! The movement controls could be further polished but overall a great submission! Hope you could check out my submission too!

Developer(+1)

I will! Thank you for playing! :)

Fun game! The combat feels really satisfying when you get it right, and the graphics are really well done. One issue is that the wall jumping can feel almost glitchy when you're going in the wrong direction, and the Deja Fu mechanic could be a little more intuitive. With some more polish, this would be a phenomenal action game.

I liked the character design and the animations, and the theme of the game was well done. The movement felt a bit too "floaty" if that makes sense, and wall jumping was a bit buggy, but overall nicely done.

At first i wasn't quite sure how "Deja Fu" works, maybe provide a small tutorial later. Otherwise nice take! Really like the combination.

Developer

Agreed. I asked a few friends to test the game out after the jam and all of them had issues figuring it out or took their time. The comments reflect that too. I should include a walkthrough, for the tutorial levels atleast, next time.

The game is short and sweet, and the possibility to choose your level it's very handy. But i think there are some issues: the "time point" seems to be parented to the main character, so it moves when it shouldn't, and sometimes it's really hard to avoid projectiles, since they are already there when you fall

I enjoyed this game! Only thing is I kind of struggled with the wall jumping sometimes. Good work!

Awesome game! Graphics and animations were well done. Could've used a bit more audio and music, it felt very minimalistic (which is still good). I loved the animation for the rewind, that was really cool. The game was pretty easy to play and was pretty fun up until I hit the level with the low wall with the blade that I didn't know how to move past. Wall-jumping seemed a little weird and fast, and I felt like the game really could've used a ducking feature to dodge bullets, I think that'd be cool. Anyways, you did an awesome job! Great work!

I should've really put up a better tutorial for the saw part, or maybe a walk-through. Looks like a lot of people had trouble there. Copy pasting from earlier:

"Deja Fu just teleports you back in time right? So when the saw moves to the absolute right, make sure to stand just to the left of it. When the the saw starts moving to the left, run away from it and use deja fu to teleport past the saw, to where you were when the saw was to the right(after the saw moves away from that location)! "

Thanks for checking out my game! :)

Ohhhhh I see how it works now, that's a clever level design!

Submitted(+1)

I liked the graphics, minimalistic and nice! Also I really liked your gameplay!

Fun concept (especially the rewind mechanic) and good graphics, player movement is kinda jerky but that may just be because of my 144hz monitor and the game is 60. overall pretty good.

Out of curiosity, what engine did you use?

Developer

We used the godot game engine, with no prior experience with it. It was surprisingly simple (and fun!) to build in.

Anyway, thank you for playing! I was on my way to look at your game. :)

Hey i really like your game but i cant seem to pass the second saw on the second level the dejafu just brings me back i cant jump over it...mind telling my how to do it? I really cant get it to work. Otherwise the game overall is a great idea!

Developer

Hey, sorry I hadn't seem your comment earlier.

Deja Fu just teleports you back in time right? So when the saw moves to the absolute right, make sure to stand right behind it. When the the saw starts moving to the left, run away from it and use deja fu to teleport past the saw, to where you were when the saw was to the right!

Submitted

Ok thanks i will try it later!

The idea is awesome! Just so you know when I tried to open it on the itch app, I wasn't able to click on either new game or levels.

Developer

Huh.. I'm new to itch so I hadn't tried it before. Thanks for letting me know. :)

We had a similar issue with our last game jam. Good luck!

Good game, enjoyed the mechanics but couldn't get the wall jumping right!

Developer(+1)

Yea.. we were pretty tired by the end and decided to let it slide. Thank you for playing friend! Also, I really liked your art style. :)

Submitted(+1)

The concept is good but i think the game needs more polishing. for me I think the rewind skill is kinda hard to use maybe because the rewind is too short. I also like the wall jump its pretty cool and also the character design

Just Within first few seconds it felt so good because of character animation, it felt like a ninja raiding a building, fast and chaotic,

The mechanics is really good. Its like Ekko ultimate from League of legends if you know what i mean. I suggest may be u can add a trail or after-image( just like Ekko ultimate) for better representation.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The game idea came almost instantly to me because I knew I wanted to make something like Katana ZERO, and I used to play a LOT of Ekko!

I liked the idea and the mechanics. It's often frustrating having to restart the level from scratch every time you die, so maybe you could have been more forgiving to the players. Nice game though
