Woahh I gave this game 5/5 for everything! It's so polished and I really love the style, the art, the sense of humour and my new favourite show, Totally Normal Tortoises :) The hectic nature and the very well executed difficulty curve made it hard for me to stop playing. The theme of working for a shady company and going through tapes is similar to ours. I like the direction you took it in :) Hope you keep working on it after the jam!

In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player has to rewind VHS tapes as the primary mechanic.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I created all the code and assets in Overwind.

Awesome! Great job on actually showing the scenes of the tapes xD I love it! For some reason on one point it bugged out for me and I couldnt watch Totally Normal Tortoises haha, but i love it great job!
VERY good game, once I figured out what to do it was a lot of fun. There's definitely a lot of waiting around and it takes some trial and error to learn the ropes. But all the mechanics work together well and fit the theme perfectly. One change I'd like, is to be able to select specific movies from the 'in' box so that you can sleeve your rewound tapes that didn't come in the right sleeve.
I reaally liked this game, it is very "fast paced" i would say, considering the amount of information that you need to keep track of. Successfully rewinding a tape and delivering it to the box is a very rewarding experience, the graphics are very nice and suit well with the game's proposal. Finally the puns with the movie titles , images and the chats with ACE are really funny.
Really nice job, keep it up!!
I'm with Zion, this is the highest rating I've given out and I can't even finish it. I got to day 7 and I was like, "I can't, I'm done, this is nuts, my brain can't handle the stress." (I never did find an already rewound tape, though!)
Great job.
Highlight of this game are the graphics, I love the pictures that show up whenever you rewind a tape lol. I think the instructions could be a little clearer, it took me a while to know what to click to move around the tapes and stuff.
The art here is great, and I love all the gags for the tapes, but the instructions are kind of unhelpful when it comes to actually figuring out how to play the game. It's really hard to understand the mechanics of the game, in terms of how you do certain actions like binning tapes or even rewinding them.
That was reaaaaly fun! I love how you doubled the rewind theme. On the one hand rewinding VHS and on the other hand the time travel for the player to the time when we had to do this. I really adore the artstyle and cranky music. It totally fits together!
The art for the game was really good! At first i was sort of confused what I was supposed to do (even after reading the instructions) but once I figured out what I was doing I found the game really fun! The sound when ACE is talking to you is sort of annoying but for the most part the sound was good. I like how you slowly introduced new mechanics. That made the game interesting.
I enjoyed playing your game and I hope you continue working on it!
I loved the game. The difficulty curve is perfect, always keeping you on your toes. The art is magnificent. I can only imagine the work it has been to make all the tapes!
Excellent job!
I liked the artwork but i had the same bug as kaideu
If a tape was overwound, and the machine also over heated, I couldn't continue using any of the machines. I could only click the cases, VHS and placement areas.
The audio and the art work pretty well together!
Unfortunately I couldn't get past a bug where If a tape was overwound, and the machine also over heated, I couldn't continue using any of the machines. I could only click the cases, VHS and placement areas.
It seems like a pretty neat concept though!
Great game concept, though similar to "Papers Please"
It really stressed me out, but in the best way possible!!
I liked all the different titles on the tapes, they were really funny
You can rate my game if you want :)
This is amazing. Also the way you compound different flaws really reminds of Papers please
