In what way does your game fit the theme?
The main theme of the game is based around time and there's even rewind mechanic!

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Almost all of the code was written by ourselves - just some checking of tutorials if we are going in the good way and not making spaghetti. All graphical assets are made by us, only music and sound effects were downloaded (with license in mind).

Nice game! The first time I played I couldn't enter any door and the game got stuck in a dialogue. But it might be just me because I refreshed and everything was back to normal, weird stuff.

Anyway, the art is very cool and the gameplay feels nice. The controls could have been explained at the beginning, but still really good entry. Well done and keep it up!

I would greatly appreciate if you could check out my game too and leave a rating :)

Haha, I like the art style and the humour. Maybe at the start make the instructions more clear since I was a bit lost at the start, but I got the hang of things. Nice art, nice dialogue and overall a nice game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We are glad that artstyle was to your liking. :) The instructions at the start is definitely something we will add.

Submitted

Ummm...what just happened! lol I was a bit lost in what I was supposed to do as it wasn't very obvious where I could go and could not go and the alarm was just blaring all the time making it hard to focus. However, I do like how you solved for the cliche "guards stop caring after a while" by allowing me to rewind time up to a point where they didn't care because it had not happened. lol :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The tutorial or some kind of tutorialish dialog at the start is something we will definitely add.

Submitted

Liked it. Good writing. Only thing was maybe after getting the instructions, not to show them again unless asked for.

Good submission.

Could you please play and rate my game as well?

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The tooltip system was kinda rushed and certainly needs some fixing. We will keep that in mind during work on post-jam version - well, if we decide to do one.

Great game, makes you FEEL like a time baron!

Well executed concept with great art.

Developer

Thank you for sharing an opinion! It matters a lot for us. :)

Great humour and nice implementation of the theme. Great game!

Developer

Thanks you for kind words! :)

I love the art and the writing, nice game!

Developer

Thanks for feedback. We are glad you liked the art, now it's something we are proud of!

A love the dialogue, and the weirded out part, the distraction is too loud, I suddenly knew I had a gun, then I shot some cops, not knowing ammo ends (ammo counter is too small), it did, then I needed to shoot someone and had no way to, and also one door doesn't open, even if I press E. The sense of humor is great too, that's it! If I have anything else, I'll come here and edit my comment, good luck on working on the game more later, which I hope You do!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We are very grateful you pointed some design mistakes we made and so we can fix it and keep in my for other games we develop.

This is extremely polished! I loved the art style! I like how there's a bit of dialog, but it mostly gets out of the way for the game itself.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! :D We are very happy you are fond of our art, since we spent countless hours making it.

Great art style! Love the textboxes at the start as well! Really polished. Sounds are a tad too loud though. Overall great entry!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for kind words! We were well aware the sounds are extremely loud (especially alarm), but didn't have time to introduce volume control - that's something we will add in post-jam version, if we ever make one. :D

Submitted

Wow pretty cool artstyle . Enjoyed it a lot! You hit the theme. Thats a great entry! Please continue making games :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the reply! :) We are very glad you are fond of the current artstyle, coz it was the thing we spent a lot of time on and eventually it turned out great (as far as I can see from feedback that is). Your response (as other's did) really motivate us to continue our game dev journey. :)

Graphics and dialogue is good. The alarm sound got a bit annoying really quick. Took me a min to figure out how things worked. And the Alien in the painting.. why!!!!??? haha. Nice job.

Developer

Thank you for checking our game and sharing opinion, it matters very much to us! We are aware the alarm sound is extremely loud (just as shooting sounds), if we decide to do post-jam version, we might introduce brand new feature - volume control. By the way, as the agent you gotta be ready for everything, even talking aliens in painting B)

Glad you enjoyed your time!

Very well made game! Lots to learn the first playthrough and win successfully in the next few attempts. Rewind mechanic is solid and the art is great.

Developer

Thank you for playing :) Glad we made it to your liking

Hey great game this was actually a suuuper solid entry.. Honestly im extremely suprised at how much you managed to get done during the timeframe.. As someone who's done the art for a good amount of gamejam's this looks like a tonne of effort especially considering that you did this all yourself. I really liked the style, and a pretty solid implementing of the theme. Unfortunately I did get stuck in dialogue with one of the NPC's and I had to restart but other than that, nice entry!

Do check out our game when u have the chance ;]

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for reply! The stucking in dialog problem is simply bad design. If the rectangle around message has little arrow it means that you should choose an option (there's also player's avatar). Tell me if problem still occurs, hope it resolves it.
We will check your game really soon. :)

Oh I see.. Good luck with the rest of the jam and I hope you enjoy our game!

Hi, I am a bit confused, I am not really sure what I am supposed to do and how. I managed to distract someone and switch clothes to look like a cop but then when I pressed 'f' to "get wierded out" it got stuck and nothing I pressed seemed to do anything for a really long time.

Anyways, for people that claim "they aren't artists" you sure do know how to make amazing pixel art, and not only that, you made an entire scene of pixel art! It's amazing! The game is really polished, sounds are really good, art is really good, if only I could figure out what to do...

Developer (2 edits)

Hello there. :) Thanks for playing and feedback. Generally to not spoil the game contents, you should talk to people u see, some of them will give some hints. The moment u got stuck is the hard moment for us, because we didn't know how to make people know that there are doors, well, where they really are. Well, if you see a door on the other side of wall, then there's an entrance on the other side, where you actually stand (press E near the wall at the same X coordinates as door below). If getting stuck refers to now knowing what to do, go explore the area on the left, there's vault. Gotta figure out how to open it and who might have the key (though I guess the problem were the invisible doors).

Submitted

Hi, I did figure out I can go through doors, but I got stuck jear the alien portrait. I pressed f, and then I couldn't control the character anymore. I pressed the mouse a couple of times but the dialog didn't progress. Maybe it could be a bug?

Developer (3 edits)

Ah, that was the case! If the dialog-box has other shape (little arrow on the left, not the rectangle) you shoud click on it - it is kind of choose-an-option dialog-style on the player side (and there's also player's avatar). Good that you mentioned that problem, will add to the description on game page. I hope it resolves problem, if there's any other tell me and of course, thanks for reply. :)

Edit: If that was not the case, I have no idea what could be wrong, we play tested couple times and it worked fine, sorry for inconvenience.

Submitted

No, it wasn't that case...

It's ok, I will replay it soon.

Developer

Hmm, so there's a bug we didn't catch. I'm sorry that you are the one to encounter in in such brute way, but well, right now there's no helping it since the updates are disabled. Maybe it was just one-time, who knows. In spite of all, thanks for reporting it and our little talk. :)

Submitted

No problem :).

Maybe you could make a post jam version with a few tweaks?

Developer

That's not a bad idea. We will try to make a post-jam version, not sure when though (we will few days to see how is the game received), but I'll inform you. We've got to rebuild some scripts that take care of dialogs and triggers starting them, since that part was a bit rushed (well, we started scripting main scene last day, so yeah). It may come with few more sprites or generally redesigned level, so it should be definitely worth waiting for. :D

Submitted

Thanks!

Submitted

It was hard but I could beat it!

The controls might need some tweaking, the game itself doesn't tell you how to open doors or grab items, although that might be my fault for not reading the description.

Also, I had to restart multiple times because Shrek's corpse blocked my way to the key, lol.

It's a very nicely done game otherwise, I like the graphics, it fits the theme very well and I had fun playing it.

Developer

Haha, congratulations! About the controls setup, we felt that since everyone do so in description it would suffice, but it's definitely our mistake. The bug with shrek, as we were programming till morning room design, we forgot to disable some of his components before deploying to itch. Thanks for sharing opinion! :)

Submitted

Nice art and sound! It was very interesting that you could complete the level without using rewind, but that you must use the rewind mechanic in order to do so quietly and stealthily enough to get a passing grade.

Developer

We are especially glad that you find art nice! We spend countless hours making all the sprites, since we are not artists and hearing we did good is very sweet. :)

Submitted

Hi there,

really funny and unique interpretation of the theme! I love how you managed to include the rewind function in a really userfriendly and natural way. The artwork is cute and fits well together with the music! I like the element of story and the a little bit weird combination of alien, police, agent combination. Well done guys!

Developer(+1)

We are happy our design idea was to your liking! Though we know it has many mistakes and inadequacy, since the main level idea was a bit rushed (we had about one and a half day to make whole level design, create sprites and music). Thanks for your kind words! :)

Very nice art, good audio too. Felt controls could use a bit more tuning.

Developer

Thank you for testing. :) They felt a little clunky and unintuitive, but were the best we could achieve in the little time we had to think about them. If we decide to continue working (since we made more like game engine instead of game), we will definitely keep in mind ur advice.
