In what way does your game fit the theme?
You are an old dungeon adventurer who must rewind themselves to their youth to beat a dungeon, but whenever you rewind the old evil inhabitants of the dungeon come back to life filling your adventure full of peril!

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code, art assets, and music were created by me. Tools such as Asperite, bfxr, BeepBox, and Unity were used in the process.

The art was great, and I loved the use of the 2D lighting system. The distribution of particles per body of lava was a tad bit off (small pockets have a lot of particles; bigger ones have them more spread out) but at that point I'm already nitpicking.

The platforming felt pretty good (but only in the younger years, although I'm guessing that's the point), although I definitely would suggest adding a friction-less physics material to the player so they don't get stuck on walls.

The final "boss" was challenging, but mostly due to the way the camera worked. The camera didn't start scrolling quickly enough, making the jump upwards tighter than it probably should've been, especially with the player getting stuck on walls occasionally. At least there was a checkpoint at the top, so restarting never felt too punishing or frustrating.

I liked the concept for the rewind mechanic, but right now there's no reason to be the old man besides an arbitrary hole in the level design (even for dodging enemies, the old man moves too slow to merit switching). Would've made for a more interesting/clever dynamic if the old man had his own skillset over the younger variant, to make up for his pathetic walking speed and jump hop (no offense, old people).

I loved the audio though. Good vibes.

Overall, I'd say you did a great job! Definitely one of the better games I've played this jam!

How you used the rewind concept was really interesting and original! The art is also pretty cool and polished.

Congrats! :D

I love the art and how you used the lights. It's fun to play. Nice job

The game was okay, it just felt unpolished.

The jumping and movement feel very buggy at times, which isn't great if the majority of the gameplay is about movement puzzles.

Sometimes also things got cut off from the screen. In the beginning, you can't really see the next platform, and in the section where the purple stuff chases you, you often can't see what's going on if you are too fast.

The scrolling thing was simply too hard for me. I felt like I would have to memorize how to get through that. And the terribly slow movement of the old man made it so cumbersome to try again.

The concept isn't bad, but I think there was a lot more you could have done with the idea. Maybe some actions of the younger self could change things for the older self?

I LOVE the art

The Game Is AMAZINGLY GOOD, music fits in, art looks great, I didn't get to the finish of the game, but played a good chunk, one thing you could improve is, when dying don't make the player rewind back to the start, either give him one second to hold R and rewind on how long he holds it, or have checkpoints, great game overall!

Love the lighting and simplicity to the game, wish there is more to it :D

I like the graphics. That's a cool idea.

It's happened to me that an enemie has become stuck, that shouldn't happen.
Is it normal that you can jump all the time holding the space bar? You're not jumping in midair, but it looks like you're jumping on a trampoline.

It would be cool if you also play my game and leave a rating :)

Thanks for playing! Yea the jumping animation was always a bit weird, partially from how the character was designed but also from how jumping worked and was coded. In the future Im definitly gonna front load working on the jump and movement code for my characters.

The Game is great. I really like the atmosphere its great and also fun and engaging! it was short but nice. there could have been a bit of more of button layout guide, controller orientation. Maybe you feld that without a clear tutorial would get it but you never know who will play your game, so having a button orientation or small tutorial is always nice and an important plus.  if you have time please drop by my game :) feedback is appreciated.

Thanks for playing! Yea i tried to have the instructions be a part of the environment but I get how doing it that minimally  might be a bit confusing for some players. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Well done game!, you might wanna adjust some minor quality of life things like, animations, level design and transmissions.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! Yea I'm making a list of things I need to add after the jams over just to polish it up.

animations r kinda weird but the idea is super cool, also i feel like the difficulty got too hard too fast but beside that the game was real cool

Developer(+1)

Yea, a bit more polish could be added to the animations, a lot of time was sunk it debugging movement and jumping so unfortunately not much got spent on animating it. Level design has been something iv been getting a lot of feedback on so Ill work to better incorporate that in the future.

I liked the concept and the art style, but I think the movement and levels needed some work
