In what way does your game fit the theme?
When you die in battle, you leave a past self behind that replays your action, allowing you to attack twice as much. You have to be considerate of your future self when taking actions, as to not handicap yourself, and be synchronized, stronger together

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All the battle code is made from scratch. I used a free premade controller as a basis for the platforming section, but I heavily edited it. All the assets except the monster models (they do use a shader I made though) are made from scratch

Nice idea, nice art and the combats like ff (similar but not the same ofc) were awesome, some details on the jump and animations failed, but overall, was a great game!

Great concept of utilizing your past self for combat. One of the greater experiences I had while playing during the jam!

Normally I would write out a long review for each game I play, but lately I haven't had much time to do so. I hope what I said in the video is helpful feedback!

Thanks a lot! It's really nice to watch someone playing my friend game. I'm glad you tried and enjoyed.

It was a really good game. Fairly solid overall!

The art style? *Chef's kiss*. Also loved the music! And I was actually invested in Id, they're such a likeable character! The combat mechanic was also great, more of a puzzle than anything else, and I loved that! The only bad thing I could really say, is that the transitions feel a little slow sometimes, I like my fades to be a bit more snappy, but that could just be personal preference! Great entry overall :)

The game is pretty good, and has a really inspiring message, there can be done certain improvements such as animation transitions from idle to running and making the enviroment more detailed, but still this is a really nice game.

Very unique atmosphere and story, getting some Sands of Time vibes. Platforming sections were a bit confusing. But I want see these ideas in full featured game. Very good job.

Wow I can tell a lot of work was invested into that! the movement in platformer part feels very responsive but the fighting part is very hard because you can't cancel an attack to move, and you move very slowly even without attacking with a 1 second timer between each move. In other words, the platformer part is very cool but the fighting part needs more visual and audio feedback and probably a rework (in my opinion) because it feels rather frustrating atm. But for a jam game, it's really impressive!

Very interesting concept, one of the most creative uses of the theme I've seen so far. I love the style and approach! Clearly the work and skill gone into this is very impressive, and I feel like its something that could be refined into a commercial game for sure.

I understand why you broke things apart on each death to explain more concepts to the player, but having multiple 'unwinnable' battles to start the game felt a bit frustrating. Knowing I have to stand there and get hit until I die to get the cutscene to then actually tackle the fight properly took out some of the fun for me unfortunately. It's a hard thing to balance because having to fail within a game is disheartening, but then if you provide easy enemies the player doesn't get to make use of the mechanic, so perhaps in a larger scale version of the game the mechanic could be confined to boss battles only or something?

Another small suggestion would be to offer a 'reset battle' option from the pause menu, as I got into a bit of a state at one point where I didn't realise occupying the same block as a copy would cause me to take damage from their projectiles, and then my copies were all at the back row so there was nowhere I could go to win the battle unless I purposefully died two more times.

I don't want that to take away from the entry though, as you're clearly very talented and to tackle what you did during the time period is incredibly impressive. If anything it's a testament to your creativity that I could see this being expanded and sold as a full indie game!

Nice work on a great entry :)

It's got a great atmosphere, nice artwork and music
While the concept of using your past lives is not entirely new, I thought it was really interesting that your copies could get mad at you and be not so helpful
The ending was a great payoff to that as well

I did feel like the story interrupted the gameplay too often
The art style is neat, but the color palette could use some work, specially on the UI and the combat scenes

Hope it can be polished in the future

This is a really neat concept, I feel a lot could be done with the planning ahead battle concept.  I feel it just needs more to the battle, faster and more player actions.  Also I wonder if you could incorporate it into the Platforming some.  I feel like this could be built on quite well. Good job.

The art work in this is so cool! Really cool idea, reminds of using past lives, reminds me of something similar  XD Good job though, great work you guys!

For this game I really liked the characters, the art , and the concept. It was a really cool idea to have past selves help you fight when you die. It was fun for me to play, though the combat did get a little repetitive... Good work overall

Wow, just wow. This was amazing for a 1 week game jam. I really enjoyed the concept both in story and game play. Of course there is always some balances and rough edges to work out but nothing so glaring to take me out of the experience.

I appreciate the changes that happen as the game went on. New enemies, new features about your own character, new game play styles. And all explained in the story very well.

I also have to say the music for the conversations was great to get the feeling across and make you want to keep going.

Great job!

The music is good. I couldn't jump on the platform.

I liked very much the character and the terrain.. even though the char was glitchy he was fun! Cool idea of recording the movements and then help you after death! Nice idea and execution guys :)

Wow, this game is amazing ! I loved it from the beginning to the end ! Despite of some minor bugs, I think that this game is the one that I prefer over all the others that I tried.

Well done guys !

I really like the concept and art, though the UI seems a bit out of place. Overall good job!
