In what way does your game fit the theme?
In order to survive the dungeon, you need to team up with the enemies trying to kill you!
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
The only assets that are not made from scratch are the tile-map. They are a modified pixel art dungeon asset. Everything else from the music, sprites and code are made from scratch!

Yeaup it is procedurally generated
Very impressed with the dungeon generation and the sprite work is really great! A dodge roll would be a cool thing to add in the future. We had similar concepts actually, check it out if you like. My highest score was Floor 18 :)
Glad you liked it! Will definitely check out your game
Good game, but I stuck in one block xd
oh sorry that you got stuck! Knew about that bug but unfortunately didn't have time to fix it :/ Something to do after the jam for sure
This game was pretty nice. although, it was quite easy for me to just plunge through each level without having to attack the enemies. Maybe if you added an objective for players to accomplish before advancing so I can actually have a motive? Overall though, I liked the idea of using orbs to gain more members and attacking the enemies. This game was really a nice entry!
Thanks for playing and glad you liked the game! I've heard that same thing before, and I agree that looking into adding more objectives or content for a floor would be a good thing to look into. Always appreciate constructive feedback! Just out of curiosity, mind telling me how far you were able to get just running for the stairs without fighting? Haven't tried doing that myself
About level 11 loool. I would of continued but I remembered you said it was procedural so I'd just be going through the same process. thats when I decided to try the mechanics.
Oof that's a good amount of floors! Thinking I'm gonna fix up the game a bit more after the voting period since this procedural stuff is a lot of fun to play around with. So yeah that is on the list. Thanks again for the feedback I will check out your game too
Love the background music! Gets a little repetitive at the start.
It would be nice if you could rate my game too :)
Glad you liked the music 😄 I will check out your game today too
Wow!! I love it, the music and the atmosphere in general are awesome, 5 stars
glad you liked it and thanks for the five stars! 😱
Top marks. Really great idea, and really well executed. I like that the game gets way too hard if you refuse to tame, and that it doesn't get too easy when you do tame; very well balanced imo. I would only say that there could be more "crunch" with the attacks, either from the animation or some good sound design.
I agree with that. Grinded out all the sounds + music yesterday, and didn't realize how weak the hit sounds are. They are there, but just waaay too quiet (and kinda underwhelming). Glad you liked the game overall and thanks for the feedback!
you have created such a great atmosphere in this game, the music, art and gameplay all fit together perfectly
Thank you! Glad you liked the game
I love the concept, it's the first time I tame my enemy in a dungeon xD. The atmosphere is chill, thanks to the music (love it). The combat system is a bit weird, but other than that, great job :)
Glad you like it! I agree the combat needs polish there are a few quirks that irk me as well
I love the concept. I wish it could be part of a more fleshed out game.
One small issue, when going in the controls menu, if the game is not in fullscreen, the back button is not visible!
Thanks! I wanted to look into fleshing out the idea more too, lots of potential for enemies and fleshing out the procedural generation I think. Also will probably tweak the difficulty a bit if I did that
REALLY LOVED THE GAME!! 5 stars!
SWEET!! THank you!!!!!! Will check your your game today as well!!
The combat is a little tricky to get used to. I don't know if this is a bug, but I somehow died after clearing a room with enemies in it. Does my health drain overtime, if I get damaged?
Also, where does the theme play into this?
Yeah there are a few bugs that I couldn't iron out given the time limit and all, you know how it is. Health isn't supposed to drain after getting hit...might have been a projectile that didn't properly destroy itself??
The Special attack allows you to take control of enemies, which will then fight for you! You can also play as the enemies as well. Thought that was pretty good to play into the theme, as it's a lot harder to progress the game alone
I love games where you control enemies.
Thank you!
Great concept! I liked the AI pathing. Considering the levels are randomly generated it's very possible to get your "minions" stuck in places and in 30 or so levels it only happened like once or twice. (and that was me actively trying to get them stuck) I would recommend you change "special attack" into mind control or puppetry as I didn't understand "team up with enemies" meant take over them.
Also I don't mind reading the controls on the submission page but some reference in game would be nice, icons on the HUD or an in game How to Page would be nice to have.
Finally as hard as it is to hit enemies sometimes, I think special attack could have either a larger radius or if you are concerned about mind controlling more than one enemy from that, a used on successful control. I depleted multiple charges trying to get one unit and went through several levels solo as a result. (That or increase the frequency of mind control charges throughout levels)
I appreciate all the constructive feedback! Yeah the getting stuck in walls bug is something I found out pretty early on after spawning in enemies, but I decided to prioritize other stuff to get the game in on time (the bug USUALLY doesn't break the game unless you are alone).
Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't as clear as I should have been about the controls (and the hit-boxes and animation can definitely be wonky sometimes). Gonna look into fixing it after the game jam
I love it!! I reach level 10. Simple but effective gameplay!
thank you!
Great stuff ! Loved the graphics and the atmosphere of the game. Pretty good sound design as well. I ran into a bug though, I was trapped into a wall with no way to get out. Not so bad, but still pretty frustrating.
Good job ! :D
Yeah was aware of the getting stuck bug, didn't have time to fix it unfortunately :/ gonna look into fixing it after the game jam
Oh alright, it was just in case you were not aware of it. :)
I always appreciate feedback!
Very good game! nice variation of enemies and the levelgeneration is really good, maybe change so that you cant spawn next to the ladder to the next floor, otherwise, amazing game!!!
glad you liked it! I was thinking of fixing that too, spawning next to the ladder was just a by product of the level generation though unfortunately
Very good game, good job with level generation
Glad you like the level generation, took me awhile to get it working (still some quirks I wanted to iron out but hey it is what it is)
How long did you spend on just the generation compared to other parts of the game? I was thinking about taking part in the 7drl jam, but I'm still not sure if I'll be able to finish my game on time
The level generation took awhile to get working properly, and I couldn't give you a set time since really every part of the game needed to be implemented into the generation in some way. Was really being tweaked until the very end. The base for the generation was in a usable state after the first day, but then as I went creating the enemies + player + the items + the ladder I needed them all coded into the generation
I see. Well, you definitely did a good job with the implementation. I think I'll take part in the jam anyway just to see if I'm able to do something like that. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Realy good game! I like it)
Glad you liked it!
Great game, art is beautiful loving the "jumping head" :)
I found it so hard until I read the description and understand that we could convert the enemies ^^
Reached Floor 9 on my best try, I think I could do better but have a ton of game to try, maybe I come back to it later ;)
glad you like it! My brother helped me out with the animation and it was his first time doing pixel art, he improved A-LOT over the game jam you should have seen his first attempts at characters
