How does you game fit the theme?
You are sent to a ship where a monster lurks around, you are not alone in the sense you are being followed.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code, made all the art work, music was found through open source means with full credit where due.

Although it was difficult—many people have commented that—I believe this game was fair if you make use of your available tools. On my third try, I succeeded in getting all eight. The danger indicator was fantastic, and despite many dead ends, I observed that you could still hide between beds where the lurker couldn't find you. Another important, in my opinion, is to never sprint until you are quite certain that you are sprinting away from the lurker. Cool game overall! If you would like to can you please check out my game? You dont have to but It would help me alot :)
Nice little game concept, seems to be inspired by Slender perhaps, pretty cool. Honestly one of the smoother 2D games I played, hard to describe but the camera overall just felt more fluid, good work!
If you got some time perhaps check ours out as well, I'd appreciate it :)
Hey, our games have a really similar looking character! In my headcannon both games are the same guy.
A lot of people have mentioned the difficulty, and it was challenging, but I actually think this game was fair if you use the features you have. I managed to get all eight on my third try. The danger indicator was awesome, and I noticed that even with a lot of the dead ends you could hide between beds where the lurker couldn’t get to you. I think another key is don’t use sprint unless you’re 100% sure you’re sprinting away from the lurker.
I like the artwork and the feel of the game in general. Four direction animated sprites aren’t easy to do in a game jam (I know from experience lol) so props on that. The environment art is just enough to add some character to the world. The UI in general is really clean, I like the in-world tutorial a lot. I wasn’t a huge fan of the shrinking sprint button, but it was an easy way to get your sprint bar across and it was an interesting decision, so points for creativity at the very least.
I will point out that some dead ends just had nowhere to hide, so you were kind of screwed if you got cornered there. I would recommend changing that. I would also change the character’s collider so that it’s just a square or circle around where his feet are, so that he can walk up against walls and around without having his head bump them (which doesn’t make a lot of sense). I would also change the physics material to one with 0 friction so that he doesn’t get stick on walls when he slides against them. Those two changes I think would make a HUGE difference.
Really solid game altogether, great job. My game is linked below if you want to check it out.
Had fun playing your game! It got a little too difficult, too fast, and then when I narrowly escaped it crushed my dreams! It has potential! You should do an update!
Have a look! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1577215195
P.S. Don’t tell people your age. They can get a little preachy. 😂
It seems you have linked the wrong video however I did manage to find the correct one through your Twitch account lol, I really appreciate the effort that went into giving the game a fair shot even when you got unlucky a good 99% of the time lmao, of course, the difficulty issue is one that's been pointed out countless times and is purely a deadline issue where it was a job for future me until the end, I am definitely interested in rebalancing it in a post-jam update, also one thing I've noticed you and friends who I've watched play it didn't quite seem to get that the red lines were meant to be blood streaks showing the place was attacked with the bodies dragged around before being eaten (which is why there was a lot near the beds indicating they attacked them in their sleep), I guess that sort of just never crossed my mind as they were always blood streaks to me lol, may revisit them also if I do an update, again thanks so much for the detailed feedback and fair play of the game, I am so glad that you enjoyed it (even with its issues) :)
Nice done! I would have loved a minimap to make sure to know where I was! Well done!
nice atmosphere, but i m not that fan of graphics... But I really liked the audio!
Great game! I like the minimal graphics. I played through and only ever saw the warning indicators and even running straight into them never actually saw the monster haha. Using the light to draw attention to the objects was a great way of leading the player too! The main feedback I have is on the sprint indicator/meter, adding a background and keeping the text in place rather than scaling it too would make it feel cleaner to me. Overall great job!
Thanks for the feedback! Strange that you never saw the monster, must've gotten very lucky (I would often find that he would find me too fast in testing lol), as for the sprint indicator I completely agree and that was a missed opportunity, sadly the fact is the current sprint indicator was put together at 2 AM in a rush to upload lol :)
Fits the theme nicely. If you meet the monster, it's pretty much guaranteed death. Definitely can evolve into something really good. Great job!
You could add a map feature which shows entire map and remaining notes.
