Mostly story whise, you recover from a broken heart, but also some more suttle themes, like going from autumn to spring and replanting a dead plant ;-)
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
all code from scratch, music is also house made, all graphics hand pixelated

Nice job! I loved the plant growing over time to help understand the passage of time. The game isn't polished, but it's a good concept and feels like it was made with heart.
Would you mind pointing out what you understand under not polished ;) (like suggestion what was lacking?) Would love to hear so I can improve next time.
