How does your game fit the theme?
Each day's end is a new beginning. Your goal is to advance from age to age, but the planet goes back to Prehistory every morning.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code from sctrach. The art is made by @QueenDragon.
Most sound effects are custom-made, some are purchased and some are free from Pixabay.com.

This thing was so good! Very beautiful experience, from the art to the gameplay. Here's a link to my playthrough... https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1757910158?t=01h37m29s

Fun idea that you executed really well! My wrist was a bit sore at the end, so a click to select + click to place would be appreciated if you decide to add accessibility features in the future.

Great game, one of the best this jam. Well done.

Would have liked a double click to build option, wrist is a bit sore now. But it was well worth it to get to space.

Good job!

very nice game! this is in my top games of this jam. But i need a double click to build building :D

Developer

Thanks :) Double click to build is a great idea, I might add that after the voting period!

It's clear that you were able to take feedback and iterate on your game throughout the game jam. The final product is really impressive.

Developer

Thank you! Getting the resource-balancing and difficulty right was indeed not easy.

I really like the art, animation and time pressure. I also like the limited spots for buildings, this requires strategic planning. The fast forward button is really nice. I noticed you mentioned this in the Tips section. However, I still found it sometimes frustrating that I couldn't build buildings from a previous age. Story and strategic wise it make sense. Also it felt annoying to almost reach the end and spend all my resources, to then find myself lacking wood resources.

For me it would be more fun when later ages do not require wood and stone resources OR to know what is required in the future. Overall I find the game really polished.

Developer

Thank you!
I understand all of the things you mentioned, but just like you're saying, it has to do with the strategy as well as the story. I think it's important that old resources are needed even in the later ages to force the player to stack up on them and manage them more wisely.
Not sure how I could let the player know what they need in the future - giving them a list of resource-amounts would make it a bit too easy :P.

Nice fun game and interesting interpretation of the theme.

Good job!

This is a very cool game :D I love the strategic aspect of it. I got to the end of the game in 6 days yay :D

Everything is amazing, a sweet and short game with amazing art style, and good audio. The audio needs a bit more control though when it comes to the dB output, when you stack too much sound effects on top of each other on the same channel without limiting the output dB, it becomes too loud. That's my only nitpick for this game.

Really well made, one of my highest-rated ones for a reason! :)
The game goal, loop and mechanics are really well made and had me hooked. Even when I was aaaalmost there at around day 10, I just missed it by that much. But because I was so hooked I tried again and again, thinking this time my tactic was perfect.

Well, I think I can safely say I didn't end up in the top 10 on the high score list x)
Good job! :)

Well played! And thanks a bunch :)
Yup, it is one of those games that can  be failed on the finish line. Glad you didn't give up!

Really fun game!  Excellent job.  If I can make a suggestion, it would be nice to build a building from any age once you advance.  I found having to stay in a specific age for a full day just to recoup resources, or more advance building could produce all resources.  Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot!
So many people are suggesting this, and I understand why. But I believe that this forces the player to plan ahead and makes it a bit more challenging. And farming the same resource for an entire day is even one of the mentioned gameplay tips :).
