How does your game fit the theme?
Anytime you die, you respawn in a new level. So the end isn't really the end
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code by myself and some of the assets were gotten from royalty free websites

Neat platformer, I especially liked how causal it is. It reminds me of my first game I have made, ahh sweet nostalgia. Let's get back to the review.
The artstyle of the "The End Is Never The End" (I will use TEINTE from now on) is simple but charming. As I said it reminds me of good old memories so nostalgia points for you. The trail behind the MC is a cool detail but were I you I would change the trail's colour too in each level just like other objects do. Movement is responsive and works well with levels you designed.
But you could make or use more sounds and music in your game. I know that's a lot of work but even 15 second loop can make a difference especially when every level is different. Sometimes collisions doesn't work and MC can get stuck in a path. Next time use more maybe circle colliders or try to do your own physics model.
Overall I enjoyed TEINTE but some small tweaks are needed. Good job!
Thanks, I plan to release an updated version of the game. I wanted the trail colour to change too but the results were weird and didn't feel right so I scraped it.
Loved the platformer. Very well designed game.
The end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end
PLEASE tell me the title is a Stanly Parable reference hahaha
A really interesting platformer.
Pros: cool art style, really good polish, tons of mechanics, very challenging, great music, I love the idea that your ability to practice each level is somewhat up to RNG
Cons: could have used more sound design, the jump was a bit floaty for my taste, the dash would kill your upward momentum even on bouncy blocks which felt unintuitive, I would sometimes randomly just stop moving a particular direction and then I'd have to move the opposite way to be able to move again.
Overall this was an insanely smooth and polished platformer for spending only one week on it and I'd love to see it updated after the jam cause it's the type of game I'd actually play on my spare time.
This was a really good game! I really liked the movement syste and the player changing everytime you die great job!
Very fun game! the levels were very well designd and while the character movement was a bit buggy at times that is to be expected of a jam game. good job!
Nice game! The movement and audio actually provided a very serene experience for a 2d platformer, but i loved it. good take on the theme too!
Nice little game, would be good to have some polish in the background and the object sprite, but nevertheless still a very enjoyable game even at this state. I did noticed that sometime my character get stuck while moving in one direction, but it occur rare enough that i can still manage it.
Thanks for submitting your game to be played in the stream! You can see my reactions over in the vod down below (games are separated into chapters with yours being the eleventh chapter)
Thanks for playing. The issue with the movement was from the colliders, this is my first time working with tilemaps in unity. I'll release an updated version after the jam
The music, the movement trail is really good, soothing relaxing!
Fun game! I really enjoyed playing :)
I like the square's following tail!! It was also good that gravity can reversed. music is fit in your game too. Cool!
Great game! I would have liked if the controls were a bit more snappier.Overall really well done and this is definitely an underrated game
i like the wall jump feartur but the music is a bit loud a volume slider whould be nice overall a good game
I wanted to add a volume slider but there was no time. Thanks for the feedback.
Very nice! Controls are very tight and responsive, and I love the music!
Thank you. The controls were the first thing I worked on, I used some tricks like coyote time, jump buffer and some other things to make feel responsive and fit the level design
The amount of ratings at the time I'm leaving this is horribly lower than it should be. The controls are super fun to use. Really cool game!
Thanks for the feedback. I spent a lot of time on the level design, it's nice to see it get some love
Interesting idea, u should place some screenshots too. Overall - i like it!
nice game with various mechanics!
nice game bro
Great game!
