How does your game fit the theme?
It's the end of this game's PS1-like era, and the beginning of a new console. Through a rougelike, the player must fight against the new. However, when dying, a new character replaces the player as the prophet.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I programmed the whole thing myself, my friend made music, I made a couple assets myself, everything else is mostly from other sources.

A PS-1 style 3rd person hack and slash.
Pros: NAILES the aesthetic, awesome music, really feels like a PS era emulation, cool models and level design, THE NOSTALGIA, I LOVE the way the resolution changes
Cons: it's nearly impossible to critique this game because everything that makes it bad is fully intentional. The clunky controls, frustrating movement, useless dodge-roll, these are all just PS-1 staples, it reminds me of how frustrating games used to be but that's also the charm. The only thing I can say is I would have liked more sound design.

Really fun game! I had a hard time knowing where I was hitting and I had hoped that some of the obstacles would provide cover. Also the gravity when hit by a wolf sent me flying. Otherwise really cool!

Nice game! I think that bullets are too fast and sometimes it is quite hard to overrun the flying enemy. Also some sounds and visual effects for hitting an enemy or getting hit could make combat system more alive.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree with all these points. If I had spent more time, more apparent combat effects would've definitely been added.
the game is good the music fits well the main menu transition needs to be a little faster but great job overall

Nice game! Visuals and audio make it feel very cartoony, in a good way. Initially I thought the projectiles fly a bit too fast towards you, but ended up liking the chaos!
I'm with you on the projectiles! If I change the game later, that will definitely be part of it.
It felt like I could get a jumpscare at any time. Like this feels like the beginning of some weird horror game. You could also jump on the wolves which I found to be very funny. I think as you win, the game gets more disorted? If that is a mechanic, that is very cool, if not I am blind. my criticism would be on the gameplay side, the dodge was basically useless and there were no player feedback such as screenshake or at least some particles when you hit the enemy. Anyways great entry!
Feedback is definitely something I should add and the idea behind the "distortion" was the first three levels are PS1-like, next three are NES-like, and the last three are Series X-like. I'm not sure why but as you said sometimes the dodge doesn't work. Thanks for the feedback!
Good game. Making bullets speed a bit slower would be great. Music is really good.

it takes ages to load start screen, taking about fade in that you put on beginning. hope you willl fix it, other wise that a very good game 😃
Totally get what you meant, if I had more time, I'd remove the fade after the player sees it once or increase the speed. Also, I'll let you in on a little secret- the buttons can still be pressed before they fade in. So, if you know where they are, they can be accessed early, no waiting required!

Yes, I agree with the others, those polygons are scary :-) Especially when combined with liminal spaces. Cool! Are the levels procedurally generated? or does it load levels randomly? The sound is good too. I like the film reel sound on the menu.
Maybe I do need to make a horror game lol. There are three pre-made levels that essentially go through a filter three times, so in total the player would play nine levels. The level order is randomized. And glad you like the audio! My friend ojman654 made the music.
