Fun game, I enjoyed it even if I did spend as much time as possible trying to keep the spiders out of my field of view, if you plan plan on continuing development can I please request an arachnophobia mode/setting if possible... Having a spider spawn next to me right at the beginning was kind of not a fun surprise.

How does your game fit the theme?
You are a magician cat fighting against a devil, through your 9 lives, each time you die you revive and gain power.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the art was done from scratch, a lot of the code is also from scratch apart from the character controller, the AI statemachine, and the UI scripts.

AMAZING game!!!! The character is a cat on a pillow!! Already on a good start. Graphics were VERY good, the vampire survivors gameloop was well done, upgrades were awesome, had a LOT of fun playing the game.
Great work!!!!!!!
Ok there is a cat so I'm compelled to like the game :p
The game is very polished and the graphics/effects are amazing ! Good power ups. Maybe the fact that every enemies one-shot you on contact is a bit harsh (maybe making the hedgehogs two-shot you instead?).
Very polished game. Really cool character design and I never felt like I got too OP. There were some issues with the music not looping properly or stopping abruptly, but nothing game breaking. Really good job!
Amazing game!
I am fond of the art style of the cat. The drawing style works perfectly. The overall design works perfectly, and the dialogues are a very nice touch. Also, the upgrades are well-thought, and they all add something to the gameplay. This is a big achievement for the small amount of time you had for the game.
There is not much to say about what you could do to improve the game (aside for classic, more enemies/levels), but I would say that the enemy feedback could be a little bit more punchy. Adding a more sound design when touched, scaling, or ticking the enemy could do the trick. For now, I feel a little weak when attacking enemies.
Good job!
I liked the visual range, you can make a full-fledged game out of it! Good luck)
Hey, this is a gem! Polished, fun game loop and great visuals and music. One of my favorites so far!
It seems that sometimes I would take way too much damage from attacks, so I focused more on leveling up damage than HP. Either way, really cool concept of having the 9 lives.
Great job!
I’m happy you appreciate the game.
About the hp, we thought that the sensation of feeling powerful by killing enemies fastly was fun.
To go more into that direction, we decided to lower enemies health, but in order for them to stay dangerous we made them deal a lot more damage.
So now the health mecanic has way less meaning.
Maybe, we should even erase it from the game.
Nice game!! Really like the visuals, audio and UI; they all contribute to the feeling of a polished game. The upgrades also feel very satisfying, great job!
Fun little bullet heaven with the added mechanic of dying powering you up. Art worked really well and music was great (although the two tracks had some volume differences). The one thing I ran into was sometimes I would get some upgrades and not know why (I assume its a leveling system due to how it is in bullet heavens usually and I hadnt died at that point to get it so just having an indicator for it like an xp bar would be great so it doesn't randomly happen in the eyes of players). Overall was really enjoyable to play though
Thank you for playing and for your feedback !
For the upgrades, right now the player gets them every 30 seconds.
We didn't went more deeply into this mechanic, and now that you point it out, yes I think some sort of visual feedback would nice.
Also switching the timer mechanic to an xp system, seems like a way to go.
Xp could give a bit of RPG feels, that could fit the game really well !
Awesome game! I assume this is what Survivor.io is like? Also loved the art, especially the scribble effect.
Thank you, I'm really happy you enjoyed it ! We took a huge inspiration from games like survivor.IO . I personally found this genre really fun to do, because it led us to interesting gamedesign questions that we never went through before, such as spell synergy, wave management, how to gradually increase difficulty and so on... it was a blast.
Amazing music, amazing art, amazing gameplay. You don't see a lot of these polished games coming from a game jam. Nicely done :]
