Fun game, would be nice with some more intuitive puzzles got stuck after going through the laser room past the hanger, opend the door to a gap into the void
Hey, I really liked the idea of a puzzle game which has dying to get to the next part as the game mechanic. I think this idea has a lot of potential. I made some notes while I was playing as feedback to give you on how I experienced the game. I did play the first part a few times a few times and here's what I have to say.
Notes:
Collision on the player bodies can block doorways sometimes
I think that the deaths should be more entertaining in a way but I like the idea of dying and using that to get to the next stage. It makes for a fun puzzle mechanic.
Maybe having funnier deaths or something could add value, or some kind of other interesting ways to die
it wasn't clear to me why I needed to go to the table first to go to the bridge. I tried ignoring that first keycard room to save the card then realized that the table was meant for opening the bridge. On my first playthrough I didn't realize that's what I did when I went into the hologram table room. I liked how the colour changed but maybe having it say what you're doing then having it be an interact key to activate it could help convey to the player what it is they are doing.
also walking should be faster. I've closed the game on accident a couple of times and running back to where I was felt pretty long. Even just running back to where you left off after the bridge part feels very long because of the move speed. maybe have a slowing down button for the obstacles where you have to move carefully could help, or having a sprint button.
also I wasn't sure why the health packs sometimes killed you
I ended up getting stuck here. I tried running into it a bunch of times since it was a bigger healthpack. I backtracked a bit in case I missed something but I couldn't figure it out. Maybe I'm just not big brain enough 😄
Anyway that's what I got, gl with your game man!
Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback! The health packs are just a troll, all you have to do is walk around and don't let it hit you.
Really cool game! The environment was very cool and the theme was executed great. I think some sound effects and mini-story/tutorial would have gone a long way, I loved the puzzles but I wasn't really sure what I was working towards and didn't always understand what I was collecting. Overall great game though, I really enjoyed!
Very pleasant game!
It was really nice to explore through the ship. The puzzles are fun, and use well the reincarnation mechanics! Really liked the fact that your body stays there when you come back, it really adds something to the overall ambience.
However, at the end, it was quite a hassle to have to come back from the beginning. Maybe adding a mechanic where you can add a double of yourself, and come back to life with the double could add something interesting!
Also, it is too bad you didn't add sound design, it could really give a big step up to the explosions!
such nice gamee :))
I enjoyed the puzzle mechanics, but the slow movement made it a bit annoying. and the Brackeys cube was a nice touch. Overall, well done!
Fun Fact I: You can use P and K keys as Killbinds (they kill You in two different ways);
Fun Fact II: You can do this:
Fun Rating: Solid 8.27/10
Very cool take on the theme, and great level design! I enjoyed the different ways you made use of the same mechanic with pressure plates and such. Very nice work!
Cool and nice environment pls rate my game
First off I want to say that I really like the fact that you made a 3d game. Its always fun to see variety and play a 3D game so props to that. I really like how the environment looks and I am a sucker for anything sci-fi. I think the game loop you chosed fits the theme very well and you had some interesting puzzles. The brakeys cube was both hilarious and terrifying at the same time. The music was really nice as well and added some nice ambience. I would have liked to hear some different sfx like walking around the ship, the fire making noise, etc. Overall though this game was really intresting and fun to play. Nice job!
Really cool game, The 3d environment looks stunning! I would've liked a checkpoint system, which wouldn't really make sense story wise, but dying felt more like punishment than needed to progress the story. The puzzles are interesting and cleverly constructed!
Loved it, definitely my kind of game! And very proud to say I finished it (I think? I didn't respawn again after the last boom so I'm assuming that was the end)! However, I didn't use the laser ball from the science lab for anything so maybe I just got lucky/creative with that room, lol.
Game design overall was very good, including the shortcuts. I'll always prefer a game where I'm thrown in to explore, so the lack of instructions is a positive for me. It also has something that a lot of jam games are missing in my opinion: it's very funny! Yes, maybe a bit over the top at some points (it disappeared very quickly, but was that a toilet bowl for check point? LOL), but the brackeys cube, the fake picks ups and their exaggerated sign posting, the funny deaths and body parts flying everywhere all made me chuckle.
That being said, the game overall needs a bit of polish, such as a menu screen, slightly bigger triggers (had to push the bodies way too close in some spaces), the fake pick ups look a bit too much like the card pick ups (maybe that's on purpose to confuse us?) and my biggest sad: no boom audio! :( But these are all minor of course for a jam game and you probably are aware of all of them!
Oh, and there's quite a bit of content for a jam game! I also used asset packs, but your game length puts mine to shame lol.
Great job! For people stuck in science lab: "git gud"!
Totally agree with all the feedback, thanks! I could not for the LIFE of me figure out why the ragdoll bodies had such small hitboxes, and I still don't know why. I even added an extra big hitbox around the whole thing and for some reason the asset pack we used just kept throwing it away. Some things just weren't meant to be I guess!
I like the minimalistic of this game. No UI but very intriguing. I was also stuck on the laser part with flame and freezing gas. The Brackey's image cube is very funny. Game design wise it delivered to make the player to think how that dying is one of the solution for the puzzle. The theme is clear to see which is the main mechanics (keep dying to solve the puzzle).
Playing for a while, it just get tedious at some point during the game. Maybe it's just me because I don't usually play puzzle game that much.
I hate to say this but the music also kinda gets annoy if you play too long. It was very good at first couple minutes but it too much specially when you are trying to solve the puzzle over and over again.
Overall it was a good game. The intention is clear even without UI or tutorial is very impressive. Good job guys.
games very nice. i got stuck on the laser ball thing wasn't quite sure what to do their and i kept dying so i gave up. I like the corpses laying around and the random brackeys cube actually scared me since it was hidden in the freezing gas. The shortcuts were also very cool, darksouls style shortcuts which i love.
That's the toughest puzzle by a significant margin in my opinion. I think a lot of folks will probably get stuck there, and it won't be their faults. It was our intention to provide a little more signposting/instruction in the game generally, but alas time ran out on us and that room remains very "...?"
Thank you so much for your feedback, I'm especially excited to tell Rick someone agrees with me on the quality of his shortcuts!
it's a nice game with good graphics the ship is very good
Nice take on the subject!
Pretty great! the lighting and graphics are good, and the puzzles are fun! Nothing like shoving corpses of yourself around =D
Wow ! amazing! I played many times. GG🔥
Managed to create a great atmosphere for the game. Really made me want to explore the place :)
I really liked the vibe of this. I got kinda angry at the end though cause I could not figure how to solve it :(
Thanks for giving it a try! How far were you able to make it
