Nice work! I like the upgrade system, visuals, and simplicity of the game. For feedback I would say to make it harder max out everything and to add some variety in the enemies (I got to max level then quit after a while cause I was too OP).

The game looks pretty good and the music is nice too, kind of reminds me of the calamity mod sunken sea theme.
I also like how you can choose a weapon type to use and upgrade, i just wish the enemies could attack you in more ways than just moving torwards you, also they start to corner you after a while making it pretty hard to avoid dying.

Really nice atmosphere and some great creature designs! My biggest recommendation is to work on the enemy pathing, waves of enemies just going straight towards the player work great for some genres, but for a bullet hell, it does not allow any form of dodging or attack pattern recognition. I also think the upgrade system could use some balance adjustments, it takes way too long until you have enough currency for the first upgrade. There are some solid bones of a game here, but I would recommend doing some continued playtesting and adjustments. Good work and keep at it!

Good job with 3D modelling and texturing, that looks quite good ! The gameplay is classic yet works pretty well, and the upgrade system is satisfying. Maybe the sound of the shooting becomes a bit annoying after a while as you shoot constantly, but that's not a big deal.

My only complaint is that I'm not sure I understand how it relates to the bullet hell genre nor to the theme. But it's only one rating category after all !

noted, I tried to lower the bullet firing sound volume but I guess not enough..

The game is more of a reverse bullet hell where you try to chain your upgrades and rain down bullets on emeries (vampire survivors, 20 min till dawn…) The theme was supposed to be a limited 5 slot upgrade, to select from a lot more upgrades.. hence the equip button, but only had time to get 5 abilities done, also limited vision but I couldn’t figure out a good shader for it so I just used the particle system for fog-ish lol

Love how the game looks and sounds! The gameplay is pretty satisfying too. Good job!

I had a really good time with this one even if it wasn't too difficult. The upgrades were satisfying and it had a great setting.

Developer

Thanks, loved your game too! :)

The design and atmosphere is really nice. liked the music as well. It didn’t feel bullet hell-ish to me, kiting the enemies was a bit easy and the upgrade currency took too long to acquire so I didn’t really get to see much of it.

Fun arena survival game

I really like the main ship’s design and the hud UI is also really nice.

While the upgrade shop is also a cool mechanic i think it has some bugs, cause sometimes i clicked on an item to buy it, but got the “beep” informing me i don’t have enough while still semmingly spending the points i had on nothing. Though i’ve seen later when it worked, and i was able to equip some of the items like the toxic bullets.

But yeah despite that it still is nice, and i had a good time :)

Yes, the upgrade shop is visually bugged, shows the wrong description/cost/level until you click on it, then it resets to the proper level, that may appear like its spending the coins but its not, its just resetting the visual text to the correct one. Thanks for trying the game out!

Well that explains it :p No worries though bugs happen especially in jam times.

It looks really cool and everything worked pretty well together, but it was way too easy to kite all the enemies. The only reason I ever took damage was because enemies spawned all around me and there was no way to get out of the circle without being attacked, there didn't seem to be anything I could do when that happened.

It's weird that you need to equip upgrades after buying them. Why would you not want to equip an upgrade?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I may have spawned the enemies a bit too close, The idea is to have enough upgrades, to have massive chain reactions, The reason for the need to equip abilities is… there was supposed to be only 5 upgrade slots available with many upgrades to choose from, to mix and match and create the best chain of abilities… but only had time for 5 upgrades due to jam constraints
