Love the hole RPG and resource gathering aspect of the game. The initial shoot and movement are a bit restrictive but i think it's a great game overall

The game somehow didn't load for me in the player :/ Just wanted to let you know. The progress bar was super slow until it crashed. Hope it get fixed, would love to try your game!

Developer

That’s weird, might be an itch issue. did you try the download instead? There is one for windows and one for Linux

Hi, Jax! Thanks for your feedback at the battleship. Your game really gave me a lesson and idea about how to combine the level-progression and the upgrades/resources player got from the game.  From the level idea, the player will encounter different enemies, more challenges and new stuffs every level, and this will build a good loop of the game. Your game did a great job here!

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed it! When making a shop, I realised I needed different effects and ways for things to move and be done so it wouldn’t be just “oh it’s this one but slower or faster” though I’ll admit, some of them are just that with different prices. Variety is hard! Glad you enjoyed it!

Really nice submission! I wasn't able to beat the mothership, but had a fun time getting there. I have some feedback, some of which you probably were aware of but just didn't have time to implement, but wanted to share to make your games even better in the future. I had too much money and didn't know what to do with it, also didn't get a chance to play around with all the bullet types since I just immediately bought the most expensive things. Sometimes when gems spawned from asteroids they spawned in a weird location towards the bottom right. Enemy bullets traveled so fast I didn't have time to dodge them. The spaceship moving randomly after getting hit caused me to lose track of myself in later levels and kept pushing me into more enemies. Then some small polishing touches such as some particles upon bullet hits, hit animations on enemies, maybe some lighting on the bullets given the dark background - those would have made the game feel even better. Anyway, I hope this didn't come off as negative, I really enjoyed your game, especially the bosses. Great work and congrats on the good submission!

Big thanks for the feedback! I did a calculation that to fully equip at max level the ship, you would need approximately 1 million money (4 weapons at the starting price of 2000 costs about 250,000 in total by level 10), so we made it rain y’all! Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to actually refine the play through, and it shows :-| The gems weirdly spawning I did catch, but it was too late to fix sadly. I completely agree with the speedy bullets, they’re a bit too unfair to the player. The knockback was intentional, but it seemed to be far too powerful. I think it was set that way due to the speedy bullets causing collision issues. And yes, some lighting effects would have been awesome - I never even considered it. I’ll keep that in mind for next time! Again, thanks for your feedback!

It was generous of you to put bullets in this here money hell. No really, I spend more time in the shop than the actual levels as I am suffering from my own success.

Developer

Money + Options = Oooh new shiny!

Thanks for the feedback, you missed out on the mine mayham that I had to nerf literally minutes before the submission closed. It was bullet hell alright. But hell for the enemies! Whoops!

A lot of depth with those shop options, main screen could be imrpoved by using higher res. art and less blurry fonts, might be a browser issue tho.

W game

Yeah, completely agree, I worked on the shop, and the guy I was working with did the game levels and gameplay, and there was a mismatch of pixel size between the ship and weapon sprites (what I worked on) and the rest that he made. I also should have used a true bitmap font for the game, but we ended up using a TTF bitmap font file at low res, hence the bluriness. If we had more time, we could have cleaned that up… but the levels were added without much play testing in the last hours of submission. More coordination in art styles is needed next time! Thanks for the review!

I like the upgrade idea, as an incentive to come back.

Goes well with consequences! Also liked the asteroids changing directions or the 'gift box ?' to destroy ^^

On a graphics note,  if some assets are low pixel, you could scale all assets to this resolution> it would feel more cohesive.

For the gameplay the starting shot is really to underpowered for me, and the ennemies too resistant !!!!!!  I miss the satisfation  of just blasting through the couple of first ennemies thrown at you.

Thanks for the feedback… though with that puny pea shooter, I would suggest checking out the shop before you hit the first level… ;)

will try again :) thx for explaining ^^

Oh my lord! So smooth! The only bad thing is that the game unfolds slowly. You have to wait a while for the gameplay to feel good.

Loved the animations, loved the design, loved the sound, loved the UI. Incredible job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, the levels were done literally in the last few hours before submission, so we didn’t get a chance to properly get the levels and progression to feel correct.
