Hey that was intense! The presentation is super strong with detailed things and satisfying sound feedbacks. That, good controls, how the sequences start and enemies you can kill in one hit result in a game which is specially punchy, I loved this short experience.
Real interesting take an the genre !
I dig how the game puts you immediately into the action no questions asked, got a bit confused by the movement at first but once i got it i really enjoyed it.
Visually all the models look good and are very cohesive together. Gameplay wise this feels quite unique i’m not sure how i’d described it, closest thing that popped to mind was Rez, and i mean that in the best possible way.
Won’t spoil it for those who haven’t tried it yet but DAT ending speach haha :p
Overall you did great, the game’s pretty fun ^^
Into the matrix!
It took me a few moment until I realized that I need to tap WASD to dash instead of continuous movement.
Very cool games! I like the presentation, love the movement. The sound and music are on point. The game feels smooth and really polished. Good job!
Unique and cool game, it felt very good to dodge and shoot but also very confusing in 3D space. I liked the art too! Gave you a nice rating! If you like to check out our game too! :)
Very cool game, the visuals are stunning! And I see what you mean about the computer textures, in the menu with the fixed camera angle they serve their purpose perfectly at that resolution. A lot of fun to play, and for sure a fresh take on the genre. Really it seems like you have a good handle on where you want this game to go, and it is already really solid so I won't even try to give design notes on those areas. My only critique really would be the music, I always prefer to see a human composer getting their stuff out there over AI generated music. Of course that can always be added at a later time when you find the right person to work with. Awesome jam game, if you are on the fence about continuing to work on it I would definitely say it's worth your time.
congrats on finishing the jam! great visuals, good sound effects and great ideas in the game. felt surprisingly intuitive to move! GREAT job!
This game, wow just wow, is so great I saw an very early version of the slowdown mechanic on the discord and seeing what it became I am very impressed. The music, sounds, the AI ish voice is awesome the gameplay was simple up until I got to the enter the sequence part where I was so lost, I thought maybe the rocket effect colors were the code but at some point of me spamming through enemies and hearing the sequence reset over and over I got it by chance. Maybe I missed something entirely but other than that I was blown away with this game. The end narrator going on this philosophical tech debate about taking over the world of organics then going on a date with a smoking hot solar panel was not something I was expecting to see whatsoever. This isn't bad mind you just threw me for a loop.
Well done on this game if you plan on developing more for it I will be watching closely.
I liked the matrix style and the effects. Sometimes it wasn't very clear what to do other than press up and shoot. but overall fun game!
Really enjoyed the game
Really fun game, it felt very good to dodge and shoot, and having to hit the enemies in order was a nice extra challenge.
Pretty cool game! Everything felt so good, from the aiming to the movemet. The music was perfect and fitted very good with the game and the particle effects around the game gave a very good atmosphere. It could only improve if it were longer.
Very impressive madness! I liked the controls (even though I didn't quite figure out how to aim effectively) and the sound design! Special respect for originality and the carpet :)
Didn't really get what I was supposed to do at the beginning and it went by very fast, though it looks cool
Did you find it unclear what to do?
yes thats what im saying, i just heard an err sound at some point and when i got hit it wasnt clear what the consequence was
Oh ok, so it's at the Consequences section that it became confusing. You are definitely not alone. I'll try to improve that part.
Consequence transforms into Sequence. You have to kill the bots in the right sequence. 1, 2 , 3 or 15 then 30 then 45
Hello! 👋
Overall: ✨ Love the game name "Dodge This." The game felt like an arcade experience with the dancing guy in the main menu and the PC's comments during the game. Great job overall!
Fun: 🎉 The game was fun and engaging. The sequencing portion was a bit confusing, but the gameplay kept me hooked.
Visual: 🎨 The visuals were neat, and it's tough to get 3D right for bullet hell games, but this felt well done overall. The animations and background during gameplay were impressive.
Audio: 🎶 The audio was well-fitting and enhanced the arcade-like experience.
Theme: 📚 I did see the theme word pop up in the game but i think the pun went over my head.
Other feedback: Great job getting this to run well on a WebGL build. A bit more guidance, maybe in the form of UI, would go a long way in improving the player experience.
Great job overall! 👏
Theme? More like THEre's a meME
Sorry couldn't find a better pun
Firstly, I am curious how the date with the solar panel went :)))) On the other hand, amazing game, The animations are just awsome and the way the characters move is just perfect. The music and narratives are very nice as well. Good job!
The game was surprised by the visual, cool 3d graphics. According to the gameplay, I just started to absorb the gameplay and it ended. The gameplay has not been fully revealed, but it has potential. As for the constructive consequences, I did not understand at all. I will be grateful if you play my game and leave your opinion.
That was fun. I laughed out loud when I saw the main character dancing in front it's computer.
Good job!
Wow amazing job it loved the matrix environment great job - I was very happy when the shooting bit came online gave it just enough mix of play to make it engaging. Enjoyed the sfx and voice the ending was an epic bit of dialogue :)
The main menu really made me laugh. What a dance! Thank you so much for that.
Anyway even if this game is really short it's crazy polished. The transition with the sentence "construct the sequence" is so cool. Sound effects and voice lines are really good.
The only issue is that the game is too simple, but I guess you didn't have the time to do more than that, even because what you did is impressive in any case.
Great job!
Thanks man! I've actually planned this to be a 3 part-er. Tutorial, which is what we see here. Crazy bullet dodge fest. I already have drones prepped that shoot in all kinds of crazy patterns. And the final boss, where sequences are different types of pictures. But then i heavily overestimated what i can actually get done.
Holy!!! Those arts are so beautiful!
Ye I feel what you say, I think of too much things to implement and finish up to do half of them e.e.
Congrats to you again
